Error Characteristics of Clamp-on Ultrasonic Flowmeters Depending on Location of Sensors and Downstream Straight Run of Bent Pipe (곡관후단의 직관거리와 센서위치에 따른 초음파유량계의 오차특성)

  • Flowmeters that measure the amount of fluid passing through conduits must kept accurate by comparison and the periodic calibration. The reference meters used are clamp-on meters that mount sensors on the outer wall of the pipe. They are called 1-path, 2-path or 4-path flowmeters depending on the number of sensors. We selected a flowmeter mainly used for K-water as test a flowmeter. We carried out experiments to find the intrinsic error of the flowmeter and errors in the downstream of a double bent pipe. The results show that there are the sensor locations that meet the tolerance. We suggested the angle of the sensor, the straight run from the downstream of the bent pipe and the number of sensors. So it is possible to improve the water treatment process and increase the accounted water rate by upgraded flow measurement technology.

The prediction of Performance in Two-Stroke Large Marine Diesel Engine Using Double-Wiebc Combustion Model (2중 Wiebe 연소모델을 이용한 2행정 대형 선박용 디젤엔진의 성능예측)

  • In this study well-known burned rate expressions of Weibe function and double Wiebe function have been adopted for the combustion analysis of large two stroke marine diesel engine. A cycle simulation program was also developed to predict the performance and pressure waves in pipes using validated burned rate function,. Levenberg-Marquardt iteration method was applied to cali-brate the shape coefficients included in double Wiebe function for the performance prediction of two-stroke marine diesel engine. As a result the performance prediction using double Wiebe func-tion is well correlated withexperimental dta with the accuracy of 5% and pressure waves in intake and transport pipe are well predicted. From the results of this study it can be confirmed that the shape coefficients of burned rate function should be modified using the numerical method suggested for the accurated prediction and double Wiebe function is more suitable than Wiebe func-tion for combustion analysis of large two stroke marine engine.

  • Due to rapid urbanization and industrialization, water supply and sewer line systems are also developed relevantly. Manhole is an essential component structure of the pipeline system. Manhole is a structure constructed to accommodate the direction, dimension, differences in level, and easy of maintenance in the pipeline system. In this paper we present the result of investigations pertaining to the structural behavior of PVC sewer manhole buried underground. In the paper mechanical properties of PVC material are reported. In addition, by the finite element analysis (FEA), we confirmed that a PVC double-wall corrugated pipe manhole, when it is buried underground, is safe for the stress as well as buckling strength if the manhole is constructed within the suggested limit of buried depth.

  • For the optimal design and the efficient operation of the double pipe type latent heat storage equipment, the effect of the parameters of the system were analysed. The statistical analysis showed that the theoretical and the experimental results of the volume change rate and the temperature variations were well agreed. Therefore, this theoretical model is reasonable to analyze two dimensional moving boundary problems. In the analysis of the effects of the parameters, the heat extraction fraction and the water outlet temperature of the system as function of the time were analysed depending on the initial temperature of PCM, water inlet temperature, water mass flow rate and the dimension of the inner tube.

  • In this case of "Seongnam~Yeoju double-lanes railroad construction", there were resident houses and gas pipe which were concerned about damages from vibration and noise. Especially, gas pipe which is a diameter of ${\varphi}500mm$ was located under the ground along upside road. The limit of vibration was 1.0cm/sec to protect gas pipe. The electronic blasting systems have been used to control vibration & noise not only gas pipe but also resident houses. The results of tunnelling were successfully conducted with effective vibration control and quick excavation by electronic blasting without any damages to adjacent facilities.

Structural Integrity of a Fuel Assembly for the Secondary Side Pipe Breaks (2차측 배관파단에 대한 핵연료 집합체의 구조 건전성)

  • The effect of pipe breaks in the secondary side is investigated as a part of the fuel assembly qualification program. Using the detailed dynamic analysis of a reactor core, peak responses for the motions induced from pipe breaks are obtained for a detailed core model. The secondary side pipe breaks such as main steam line and economizer feedwater line braksare considered because leak-before-break methodology has provided a technical basis for the elimination of double ended guillotine breaks of all high energy piping systems with a diameter of 10 inches or over in the primary side from the design basis. The dynamic responses such as fuel assembly shear force, bending moment, axial force and displacement, and spacer grid impact loads are carefully investigated. Also, the stress analysis is performed and the effect of the secondary side pipe breaks on the fuel assembly structural integrity under the faulted condition is addressed.

A Study on the Secure Double Pipe Hash Function (안전한 이중 파이프 해쉬함수에 관한 연구)

  • The classical iterated hash function is vulnerable to a multi-collision attack. Gauravaram et al. proposed 3C and 3C+ hash functions, in which an accumulation chain is added to usual Merkle-Damgard changing. Their goal is to design composition schemes resistant to generic attacks of Joux's type, but Joscak and Tuma have shown that 3C and 3C+ schemes are not better than Merkle-Damgard scheme in term of security against multi-collision attacks under some mild assumptions. In this dissertation, in order to increase security of 3C hash function, we proposed secure double pipe hash function which was effectively using XOR and XNOR operations per blocks of message. We seek to improve on the work of Lucks in a way. Proposed secure double pipe hash function takes resistance to multi-block collision, fixed point and pre-image attacks.

Macro and Micro-electrochemical Characteristics on Dissimilar Welding Metal of Double Wall Gas Pipe for Duel Fuel Engine (이중 연료 엔진용 이중벽 가스 배관 이종 용접부의 매크로 및 마이크로 전기화학적 특성)

  • This study compared the macro and micro electrochemical characteristics at the local area of welding metal on dissimilar welding parts for type 304 stainless steel (SS) and type 316L SS. The materials are used for double wall gas pipe of duel fuel engine for a ship. The various potentiodynamic experiments were performed several times in 10% ${H_2C_2O_2}{\cdot}{H_2O}$ solution using macro and micro methods, respectively. The micro electrochemical experiments conducted to resolve at local area on cross-section of dissimilar welding materials by micro-droplet cell device. The micro-droplet cell techniques can be used almost electrochemical experiments to resolve corrosion characteristics of the limited electrode area of the metallic surface between wetted spot of working electrode and tip of sharpened capillary tube. The results of macro electrochemical experiments show that resistance of active dissolution reaction at welding zone was high due to low current density by formation of passivation protection film at passive region. According to the micro electrochemical experiment, the corrosion current density of welding zone and bond zone were relatively high.

  • 매스 콘크리트 구조물에서는 콘크리트 타설 후 시멘트의 수화열로 인한 온도응력에 의해서 온도균열의 발생 가능성이 매우 높다. 따라서, 매스 콘크리트 시공시, 온도균열을 구조물의 내구성 관점에서 최대한 억제시킬 필요가 있다. 최근에는 국내에서도 단위시멘트량이 많은 배합을 이용하는 고강도 콘크리트 구조물의 시공이 증가되고 있다. 이와 같은 매스 콘크리트 구조물은 단위시멘트량이 많기 때문에 부재내 수화열에 의한 온도의 상승 속도가 빠르기 때문에 시공에 앞서 사전에 설계, 재료 및 시공 측면에서 온도균열 제어 대책을 검토할 필요가 있다.(중략)
