SC-FDMA is employed in the 3GPP-LTE standard as the uplink transmission scheme. SC-FDMA has advantages that the signal has a low PAPR property and a simple equalizer such as FD-LE can be implemented. But FD-LE has inferior performance to Hybrid-DFE composed of frequency-domain feedforward filter and time-domain feedback filter. Recently, several IB-DFE algorithms have been proposed to overcome the disadvantages of implementation and processing complexity of Hybrid-DFE and to obtain superior performance to FD-LE. In this paper, we apply several IB-DFE algorithms to 3GPP-LTE uplink system and compare their performance by calculating BER. We investigate the effects of channel estimation errors and Doppler shift on performance. Finally, by analyzing computational complexity of IB-DFEs, we present some criteria to choose appropriate algorithm and to decide the number of iterative processes.

Objective: This research measured physiological and psychological effects of Vibroacoustic stimulation(VA) to scapular and sacrum of supine position on the mattress. Background: When vibroacoustic stimulation applies to human body, it has a positive influence on physiological and psychological effects by stimulating the organs, tissues and cells of whole body. Method: This experiment was conducted to 10 normal males in two conditions: no stimulation and vibroacoustic stimulation. No stimulation experiment was executed as a supine position for 30 minutes without any vibrational stimulus, while vibroacoustic stimulation was transmitted by the vibrational speaker, which uses 40Hz frequency. Subjects had a laser Doppler flowmeter probe in scapular, sacrum, and also had 8 channel electroencephalogram(EEG) measurement sensor in the scalp. Blood pressure and skin temperature were measured in two conditions with an underlying posture for 30 minutes. Additionally, blood flow rate and EEG were measured before and after for two minutes on two conditions. Results: According to the vibroacoustic stimulation, blood flow rate and skin temperature were increased, while blood pressure was decreased. When using vibroacoustic stimulation compared to no stimulation, blood flow rate went approximately two times higher, and skin temperature also higher 3~4 times. Furthermore, the relative alpha power of brain wave was significantly increased when we applied to vibroacoustic stimulation. Conclusion: This experiment tested the VAT embedded in mattress in two conditions. According to this experiment, VAT decreases blood pressure, improves not only a physiological effect on blood flow rate as well as skin temperature, but also psychological functions by increasing relative alpha power. Application: The results of the publishing trend analysis might help physiological and psychological effects of vibroacoustic stimulation.

In land mobile communication, very extensive studies on pilot symbol assisted modulation (PSAM) have been made on fading compensation. This paper analyzes the effect of power amplifier nonlinearity on PSA-QAM with maximal ratio combining space diversity. In practical PSAM, information on fading is obtained through interpolation of the pilot symbols. We employed the interpolation filter which could minimize the average power of error and analyzed effects on the system performance of the number of filter taps, period of the pilot symbol frame, and the Doppler frequency. Nonlinear power amplifiers of class AB, B, and C were incorporated in the system models and their AM/AM and AM/PM characteristics were taken into account in the performance analysis. We showed the performance variations according to the types of the nonlinear power amplifiers in the AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels using nonlinear compensation technique, Cartesian Feedback Loop (CFB).

In general DGPS system, the correction message is transferred to users by wireless modem. To cover wide area, many DGPS station should be needed. And DGPS users must have a wireless modem that is not necessary in standalone GPS. But SBAS users don't need a wireless modem to receive DGPS corrections because SBAS correction message is transmitted from the GEO satellite by L1 frequency band. SBAS signal is generated in the GUS(Geo Uplink Subsystem) and uplink to the GEO satellite. This uplink transmission process causes two problems that are not existed in GPS. The one is a time delay in the uplink signal. The other is an ionospheric problem on uplink signal, code delay and carrier phase advance. These two problems cause ranging error to user. Another critical ranging error factor is clock synchronization. SBAS reference clock must be synchronized with GPS clock for an accurate ranging service. The time delay can be removed by close loop control. We propose uplink ionospheric error correcting algorithm for C/A code and carrier. As a result, the ranging accuracy increased high. To synchronize SBAS reference clock with GPS clock, I reviewed synchronization algorithm. And I modified it because the algorithm didn't consider doppler that caused by satellites' dynamics. SBAS reference clock synchronized with GPS clock in high accuracy by modified algorithm. We think that this paper will contribute to basic research for constructing satellite based DGPS system.

Narrowband interference can severely degrade the performance of GPS receivers. Detecting the presence of interference and then characterizing it can lead to its removal. Receivers can be reconfigured to focus on other signals or satellites that are less vulnerable to that interference at that moment. Using hardware reconfigurability of FPGA receivers and characterizing the effect of narrowband interference on the GNSS signal quality lead us to a new RFI mitigation technique in which the highest quality and less vulnerable signal can be chosen at each moment. In the previous work [1], the post processing capability of a software GPS receiver, has been used to detect and characterize the CW interference. This is achieved by passing the GPS signal and the interference through the correlator. Then, using the conventional definition of C/No as the squared mean of the correlator output divided by its variance, the actual C/No for each satellite is calculated. In this work, first the 'Exclusion zone' for each satellite signal has been defined and then by using some experiments the effects of different parameters like signal power, jamming power and the environmental noise power on the Exclusion zone have been analyzed. By monitoring the Doppler frequency of each satellite and using the actual C/No of each satellite using the traditional definition of C/No and actual data from a software GPS receiver, the decision to reconfigure the receiver to other signal can be made.

A new fading channel estimation technique is proposed for an OFDM based modem In the ITS system. The algorithm is based on the transfer function extraction of the channel using the pilot signals and compensated the channel preceding the equalization. The newly derived algorithm is division-free arithmetic operations allows the faster circuit operation and the smaller circuit size. Proposed techniques compensate firstly the distortion which is generated at fading channels and secondly eliminate inter-symbol interference. All algorithms are suitability estimated and improved for a system implementation using digital circuits. As the results, the circuit size is reduced by 20% of the conventional design and achieved about 10% performance improvement at low SNR under 10dB in case of ITS system adapted 16-QAM mode.

In this paper, we investigate the type and detection methode of spoofing attack, and then analyze the performance of spoofing detection algorithm in GPS L1 signal through the simulation. Generally spoofer is different from the jammer, because the receiver can be operated and not. In case of spoofing the GPS receiver is hard to recognize the spoofing attack and can be operated normally without stopping because the spoofing signal is the mimic GPS signal. To evaluate the performance of spoofing detection algorithm, both the software based spoofing and GPS signal generator and the software based GPS receiver are implemented. In paper, we can check that spoofing signal can affect to the DLL and PLL tracking loop because code delay and doppler frequency of spoofing. The spoofing detection algorithm has been implemented using the pseudorange, signal strength and navigation solution of GPS receiver and proposed algorithm can effectively detect the spoofing signal.
The proposed algorithm deals with a detection problem of target echo for narrow-band continuous-wave active sonar in the underwater environment in this paper. In the active sonar systems, ping signal emitted for target detection produces a signal that consists of multiple reflections by many scatterers around, which is called reverberation. The proposed algorithm aims to detect the low-Doppler target echo in the reverberant environment. The proposed algorithm estimates the bearing, frequency, and temporal bases based on beamspace-domain multichannel nonnegative matrix factorization. In particular, the bases are divided into two basis groups - the reverberation group and the echo group, then the basis groups are estimated independently. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, a simulation with synthesized reverberation was performed. The results show that the proposed algorithm has enhanced performance than the conventional algorithms.

Underwater, signals are transmitted by sound waves. Sound waves are transmitted through a multipath, either directly or through reflection, due to the variety of underwater environmental characteristics. In such diverse and complex underwater environments, tests must be conducted to determine the extent of the hazard from the survivability and pitfalls of submarines by measuring the underwater radiated noise. Usually, the sound source level measurement of underwater radiated noise should be made within the closest point (CPA: Closest Point of Approach) ± a few meters between the measurement sensor and the submarine. In this study, FDOA and TDOA methods were proposed to estimate the underwater source range. A simulation based on the underwater channel model confirmed the performance of the proposed method.

A closed loop wireless transmission method adaptive to mobile unit speed is proposed in this paper. A mobile communication node measures the mobile speed based on the transmitted pilot signals through Doppler frequency estimation, and it changes the transmission period of pilot signals as per estimated mobile speed adaptively. The pilot signals with the different transmission periods are transmitted using the different PN sequences with the previous ones without any explicit information about the new period. The corresponding receiver node can detect and extract the transmitted pilot signals through blind search of the transmitted PN sequences of the pilot signals, and it can demodulate and decode the transmitted information using the channel estimation results based on the detected pilot signals. The performance of the proposed method had been analyzed through the simulation under the fading channel environments and compared with the previous methods. The simulation results showed performance improvement of the proposed method over the existing ones.
