Purpose: To clarify the influence of "Dongeuibogam" on three important medical books "Euimunbogam", "Jaejungshinpyeon" and "Bangyakhabpyeon", in Chosun Dynasty. Methods: To examine and compare the three medical books, with "Uterus" and "Gynecology" part in "Dongeuibogam" to investigate effects of theories and prescriptions of "Dongeuibogam" upon gynecology. Results: Firstly, "Dongeuibogam" positively and practically reestablished the medical books existing at that time and made the high use of them in practice. Secondly, the three medical books mostly follows the formation of "Pomun" and "Buinmum" in "Dongeuibogam". thirdly, the three medical books inclusively accepted the theory and prescriptions of "Dongeuibogam" and made use of them actively in practice. Furthermore they developed other points of view in 'disease pattern identification and treatment'(辨證施治). Conclusion: "Dongeuibogam" had great influence upon gynecology in the medical books at the latter term of Chosun dynasty. "Dongeuibogam" also have had huge influence upon the clinical practice in gynecology until now by making the foundation of gynecology in traditional Korean medicine.

The value of Dongeuibogam has been officially acknowledged as a Memory of the World. However, we should not overlook the forward-looking value of Dongeuibogam in addition to its backward-looking value. For the past 200 years, Western medicine has attained great achievements in therapeutic medicine based on Descartes' mind-body dualism, which focuses on the body as a separate entity from the mind. Recently, Western medicine modified its previously one-sided track into a new orientation towards holistic mind-body medicine in recognition of the two as an organic whole. At this point in time, it is essential to draw attention to the forward-looking value of Dongeuibogam, which pioneered mind-body medicine based on the medicinal philosophy of Jing Qi Shen more than 400 years ago.

Objectives : 'Maijue' is the one of the diverse quoted texts in Dongeuibogam. Maijue is mentioned 72 times. However, we don't know what note of Maijue exactly indicates. Methods : We derives 72 sentences, which is marked as Maijue for quotation in Dongeuibogam, and compared those sentences between Dongeuibogam and texts related to Maijue ; Cui Jiayan's Maijue, Chandobanglonmaekgyeoljipseong and so on. Results : 35 out of 72 sentences are from Cui Jiayan's "Maijue", 28 from Chandobanglonmaekgyeoljipseong(17 from headings, 6 from contents related to Zhang Yuansu[張元素], 5 from contents related to Li Jiong[李駉]). The rest of those annot be found in texts mentioned above. Conclusions : Maijue in Dongeuibogam as a quoting mark doesn't indicate one book and Dongeuibogam used one single mark, 'Maijue' even though Dongeuibogam quoted several texts, which names were related to Maijue.

The registration of Dongeuibogam as UNESCO's Memory of world was not only a national triumph but also an internationally important event. This event got rid of the opinions that suggested Dongeuibogam was a medical system practiced only un the limited area of Korea and this event signified the restoration of Dongeuibogam's international and universal position. Therefore, ih is now our job to find Dongeuibogam's modern applications and restore its value. This study was carried out with the purpose of examining the significance of Dongeuibogam's registration as Memory of world from a medical history's point of view and finding its modern applications. The author discussed significance in three parts of Past Significance, Present Significance and Future Significance. As for modern applications, the author reviewed currently used applications and considered the possible ways to restore its original value as an alternative for future medical science.

Objectives : The main aims of this study were to identify candidate anti-aging herbal formulae(CAHF) from Dongeuibogam. Methods : We analyzed the terms describing effect of 3,901 herbal formulae on Dongeuibogam and selected the terms describing the anti-aging effect of herbal formulae(TAEHF). Finally, we generated a list of CAHFs based on TAEHFs. Results & Conclusions : 1. We finally selected 162 TAEHFs on Dongeuibogam. 2. We finally selected 138 CAHFs on Dongeuibogam(15CAHFs for external use, 123CAHFs for internal use). 3. TAEHFs are classified into 9 types. 4. CAHFs are classified into 9 types.

Quotations in "Dongeuibogam" are originated from books of Oriental Medicine. Those are exactly same with original books. However, some quotations are not in same comparing to original books. Authors are in concerns that the original sentences which are quoted in "Dongeuibogam" are how different and how similar or same, with comparing methods between them. As a result, we could find out original sentences in original books and we could make comparison between those and quotations of chapter of bone in "Wehyungpyun", "Dongeuibogam". Also we could get explanations of qoutations' accuracies.

Two Fructus Jujubae & three Rhizoma Zingiberis Rencns are usually used in parts of prescriptions in oriental medicine. In "Dongeuibogam", those are prescribed as drugs. However, those are not exactly same with original books, which "Dongeuibogam" had quoted. In original books, those are sometimes mentioned just as 'Fructus Jujubae & Rhizoma Zingiberis' or different amount of them. Therefore, authors try to compare with "Dongeuibogam" and its original books to find out the reason of discordance. As a result, we could conclude that Two jujubes & three pieces of ginger are more commonly prescribed than original books and are fixed to use more conveniently and to give standard for doctor.

Reprints of Dongeuibogam were made in 1659 in Daegu and once again in 1754 in Yeongyeong, Daegu. In 1814, it was republished in Wanyeong. These block books were officially released by government authorities while various reprints and copies were utilized by civilians. Also, Dongeuibogam was published several times for use in Japan and China. The National Library of Korea utilizes Dongeuibogam in a total of 401 types including 248 general books, 104 academic papers, 32 non-books and 17 old books. This can be classified by theme into 235 general theories, 23 medicinal prescriptions, 24 preservations and 13 drugs. Although the key to traditional medicine lies in its many years of experience, it is important to absorb the technical aspects of western medicine instead of relying on past experience alone.

Objective : One of the characteristics of "Dongeuibogam" is that there are citation records at the end of quotations. Therefore, each pharagraph and formula in "Dongeuibogam" has citation records. In this article, authors try to review on the way of those citation records. Method : Comparing citation records of formulae-names with citation records of formulae-explanations. Result : On one side, citation records of formulae-names and citation records of formulae-explanations are not same. Conclusion : There are no regular rules in the way of citation records in "Dongeuibogam".
