  • 본 논문은 인터넷이 가능한 정보 단말들이 임의의 인터넷 서브 네트워크(Subnet Network)에서 별도의 추가 설정 없이 바로 인터넷을 사용 가능하도록 하기 위한 방법에 관한 것이다. 특히 DNS(Domain Name System) 서버가 없는 네트워크에서도 외부에 존재하는 DNS 서버 주소를 자동으로 찾기 위한 방법에 대해 알아보고자 한다.

DNS를 사용한 공개키 인증서의 일치성 보장에 관한연구 (A Method on Maintaining Consistency of Certificates in public Key Infrastructure using DNS)

  • In this paper we propose a new algorithm which resolves the inconsistency problems occurring when DNS severs are employed as elements of PKI. The inconsistency may take place between primary name servers and secondary name servers and between cached certificate and original certificate. The former can be removed by adapting RFC 1996 NOTIFY opcode for DNS. In order to eliminate the latter type of inconsistency we develope a new algorithm which is implemented with two additional RR(Resource Record). The present algorithm is designed such that DNS contacts the destination DNS prior to returning public key to users. Therefore the inconsistency problem occurring when DNS is operated as PKI can be eliminated by using the proposed adaptation and algorithm.

  • Domain name system (DNS) is a primary identification mechanism for Internet applications. However, DNS resolutions often take an unbearably long time, and this could seriously impair the consistency of the service quality of Internet applications based on DNS such as World Wide Web. Several approaches reduce DNS resolution time by proactively refreshing expired cached records or prefetching available records beforehand, but these approaches have an inherent problem in that they cause additional DNS traffic. In this paper, we propose a DNS resolution time reduction scheme, named renewal using piggyback (RUP), which refreshes expired cached records by piggybacking them onto solicited DNS queries instead of by issuing additional DNS queries. This method decreases both DNS resolution time and DNS traffic since it reduces the number of queries generated to handle a given DNS resolution without generating additional DNS messages. Simulation results based on two large independent DNS traces show that our proposed approach much reduces not only the DNS resolution time but also the DNS traffic.

  • 애드 혹 네트워크는 기지국과 같은 통신 인프라가 없는 환경에서 이동 노드들 간에 통신이 가능한 망을 말한다. 최근 애드 혹 네트워크의 데이터 전송에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지면서 다양한 영역에 대한 연구들이 제안되고 있다. 그중 네임 서비스는 서비스를 이용하는 사용자가 IP 주소를 기억하기 어려움으로 인해 제안되었고 유선망에서는 DNS를 통해 네임 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 하지만, 애드 혹 네트워크에서는 노드들이 이동하고 임의로 만들어지는 특성으로 인해서 유선망과 같은 DNS 서버를 통해서 네임 서비스를 제공하기 어렵다.본 논문은 애드 혹 네트워크의 특성을 고려한 명시적인 MDNS(MANET oomain Name System) 서버를 이용하는 방법을 도입함으로써 애드 흑 네트워크에서 효율적인 네임 서비스를 제안하고자 한다.

  • 대부분의 분산 웹 시스템은 Domain Name System(DNS)을 이용하여 사용자 요청을 분산한다. DNS 기반 부하분산 시스템은 구성하기 쉬운 장점이 있지만, 주소 캐싱 매커니즘에 의해 서버들 사이의 부하 불균형이 발생한다. 또한, 서버의 상태를 파악하기 위해서 DNS의 수정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 DNS의 동적 갱신(dynamic update)과 라운드로빈 방법을 이용한 새로운 부하분산 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 DNS의 수정 없이 동적인 부하분산을 한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 서버의 부하량에 따라 서버를 DNS 리스트에 동적으로 추가, 삭제한다. 부하가 많은 서버를 DNS 리스트에서 제거함으로써 사용자 응답시간이 빠르다. 동적인 부하분산을 위하여 CPU와 메토리 네트워크 자원의 사용률에 따른 부하분산 알고리즘을 제안한다. GUI 기반의 관리도구를 이용하여 손쉽게 제안하는 시스템을 관리할 수 있다. 실험을 통하여 본 논문에서 구현한 모듈들이 제안된 시스템의 성능에 많은 영향을 주지 않는다는 것을 보여준다. 또한 기존 라운드로빈 DNS와의 비교실험을 통하여 사용자 응답시간과 파일전송률이 더 빠르다는 것을 보여준다.

  • In the current digital age, most of the countries in the world recognize the electronic business to be a very prospective area in the future and plan to activate for the preoccupation of the business. As a result, this led a rapid increase of the electronic business volume. Electronic business takes place in the cyber space, using internet. However, the intellectual property rights have a high degree of possibility of being infringed as the digitalized intellectual property is easy to receive, copy and transmit in the cyber space. The language structure on the web, represented by HTML, makes easier to copy the intellectual property. And, as the internet has no national boundary, the infringement of the intellectual property rights is easier regardless of country, which could lead to the commercial disputes between the concerned countries. There are in fact many legal disputes nowadays on the infringement of the intellectual property rights in such field as computer programming, infringement of the copyright, business model patent and infringement of the trademark right on the registered name of the domain. It is, therefore, time now to prepare a new theory or legal system to protect the intellectual property rights on copyright, patent and trademark right so as to comply with the digital environment together with such a splendid growth of "electronic business." USA and Germany are nowadays making a significant movement on the legislation of the electronic business, and this study will focus on the legislative contents, judicial precedents and interpretation of law in the above countries.

  • 지속적인 전력수급의 불안과 이에 따른 정부의 에너지관리 정책의 변화로 인해 효율적인 에너지 관리를 위한 에너지 관리 시스템 에 대한 관심과 수요는 공공기관이나 빌딩뿐만 아니라 가정에까지 확대되고 있다. 그러나 가정내 전기 소비 장치에 대한 관리는 신규 건축물에 적용되거나 가정 내 운용제품에 기반한 별도의 서비스 제공자를 통해서 주로 운용 된다. 본 논문에서는 가정 내 인터넷서비스 제공을 위해 설치되어 있는 유무선 공유기와 DDNS(Dynamic Domain Name Service) 를 이용하여 가정 내 전기 소비 장치의 원격제어 및 모니터링을 위한 Presonal Energy Management System 을 구현하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다.

  • The world of today faces a radical change, a new revolution, by the spread of the Internet. It is used not only for advertising but also for the exclusive rights in the field of information and communication, in add to the way of developing everyday our lives with world news, home-shopping, on-line education and so on. Actually, since the Internet Domain's Name(IDN) is unique over the world, the individual and the companies which provide information through the Internet have a keen competition to make a good IDN to memorize and organize all available information provided them. As a result, there are an increasing number of the cases where one company files suit against another for the validity of it's IDN so the policy to arbitrate and solute the cases is required. This paper is going to introduce the structure and the system of management for IDN. It will also discuss the efficient management of IDN, various case analysis of the dispute restraint and solutions, and the movement of improving the management procedure of IDN in WIPO. So we suggest to examine common disputes among IDN uses and solution methods for future problem at EC times. Therefore we have to establish the dispute solution system. Here are the two methods : one is that to establish a dispute solution organization. This organization which can conduct the new dispute solution procedure differs from the existing legislation system. The other is that to establish a dispute solution procedure i.e. the various dispute solution procedure for efficient dispute solution : council, inspection, mediation and arbitration. This procedure is conducted on-line due to features of the IDN disputes, also along with the current legislation system and the International dispute solution procedure. Because there is possibility the IDN disputes usually are connected with other countries. As there is no specific disputes solution procedure so far, we have to wait while development occurs that also striving to be coherent with and between the domestic and International solution procedure by helping to establish the International dispute solution procedure.

Impact Evaluation of DDoS Attacks on DNS Cache Server Using Queuing Model

  • Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks towards name servers of the Domain Name System (DNS) have threaten to disrupt this critical service. This paper studies the vulnerability of the cache server to the flooding DNS query traffic. As the resolution service provided by cache server, the incoming DNS requests, even the massive attacking traffic, are maintained in the waiting queue. The sojourn of requests lasts until the corresponding responses are returned from the authoritative server or time out. The victim cache server is thus overloaded by the pounding traffic and thereafter goes down. The impact of such attacks is analyzed via the model of queuing process in both cache server and authoritative server. Some specific limits hold for this practical dual queuing process, such as the limited sojourn time in the queue of cache server and the independence of the two queuing processes. The analytical results are presented to evaluate the impact of DDoS attacks on cache server. Finally, numerical results are provided for further analysis.

  • NAPTR(Naming Authority Pointer) is a type of resource record specified IETF RFC 2915. NAPTR enables to register various services in tile domain name systems and thus Provides a way to discover services available on specific hosts. This paper describes the design and implementation of a proxy DNS system aimed at supporting NAPTRS. The goal of this work is to study on the feasibility of the service discovery registered in DNS via NAPTR records. This research result can be applied to service discovery in the resource information management for high performance GRID environments as well as to implement generic ENUM services
