Motivated by recent works on spectrum-sharing systems, this paper investigates the effects of transmit diversity on the peak interference power limited cognitive radio(CR) networks. In particular, we derive the ergodic and outage capacities of a spectrum-sharing system with multiple transmit-antennas. To derive the capacities, peak interference power constraint is imposed to protect the primary receiver. In a CR transmitter and receiver pair with multiple antennas at the transmitter side, the allowable transmit power is distributed over the transmit-antennas to achieve transmit diversity at the receiver. We investigate the effect of this power distribution when a peak interference power constraint is imposed to protect the primary receiver. We show that the transmit diversity does not improve the ergodic capacity compared to the single-antenna system. On the other hand, the transmit diversity significantly improves the outage capacity. For example, two transmit-antennas improve the outage capacity 10 times compared to the single-antenna with a 0 dB interference constraint.

In this paper, we investigate cooperative diversity in a spectrum sharing environment where secondary users utilize primary users' spectrum only if the interference power received at the primary users is maintained below a predetermined level. The outage probability of a selective decode-and-forward (DF) based cooperative diversity scheme in the secondary network is derived to analyze the effects of spectrum sharing on cooperative diversity. Our analytical and simulation results show that the outage probability is saturated at a certain level of transmit power of secondary users due to interference regulation, and, hence, cooperative diversity gains are lost. Through asymptotic analysis, we also identify the critical value of transmit SNR beyond which the outage probability is saturated.

Habitat heterogeneity can enhance biological diversity by providing variation in structural diversity. This paper reviewed heterogeneous habitat serves as a population stability and superior demographic performance (e.g., high density, survivorship, reproductive rate) can be observed compared with organisms with inferior demographic performance. The idea of habitat variation has been further developed in modelling. Furthermore the size and configuration (distribution) of a patch (of a particular habitat type) become effective for the stability of population through hiding places and food resources. Species diversity is related to habitat complexity that provides structural diversity to ground -dwelling organisms. Finally coarse woody debris can enhance habitat complexity thus stabilizing population fluctuation and increasing survivorship.

In this study, we suggest a new perspective on the linkage between alliance portfolio diversity and innovation performance based on a contingency approach. Using a longitudinal data set on alliance portfolios and patents of 182 firms in the U.S. manufacturing industries, we examined that alliance portfolio diversity has a U-shaped relationship with firm-level innovation. Internal value creation capabilities in terms of routine and ability are found to moderate the relationship between alliance portfolio diversity and innovation performance: Organizational search routine strengthens the relationship of alliance portfolio diversity and innovation performance while technological capabilities weaken and flip the relationship.

This study assessed diversity in MIS research by examining 357 articles published in Journal of MIS Research from 1991 to 2003. The classification system developed by Vessey et al.(2002) was employed to examine research diversity of the articles. The classification system comprises four key characteristics of diversity such as research topic, research method, level of analysis, and reference discipline. The results of our study were also compared with Vessey et al,(2002)'s results to address problems in current MIS research and to suggest some recommendations for the future MIS research in Korea.

Considering the present development situation of domestic apartment complexes, the environment and its landscape is monotonous and dull, so the diversity is very important socially and visually. The ground floor dwellings can influence the richness and diversity of ground landscape in the apartment housing. Because they are set on the ground and directly contact with people's sight line. In this context, this study aims to identify the elements of design diversity in the ground floor dwellings, to analysis the architectural characteristics of them and to propose the improvement of diversity.

본 논문은 모바일 사용자의 신뢰성 향상을 위하여 기지국의 범위 내에 소형 기지국들을 추가적으로 사용하여 전송 다이버시티 이득을 제공하는 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 기지국은 기지국 셀 내에 위치한 소형 기지국들을 중계기로 이용한 협력 통신 기법을 적용하고 전송 다이버시티 이득을 얻기 위한 신호를 구성한다. 모바일 사용자는 결과적으로 기존의 기지국과 릴레이 역할의 소형 기지국들로부터 다중의 채널을 통하여 신호를 수신 받을 수 있게 되고, 이때 수신된 신호들은 전송 다이버시티 기법이 적용됨으로써 신뢰성이 크게 향상 될 수 있다.

Five measurements of species diversity (richness index, diversity index, evenness index, dominance index and species sequences-importance curve) and their relationships with sltitude, tree age and community type were studied in $T\v{o}gyusan$ National Park, Korea. Altitude and tree age were the major variables explaining the differences of species diversity in the whole forest. Species richness index, diversity index and evenness index of Quercus mongolica and Pinus densiflora communities were lower than those of Carpinus laxiflora, Q. serrata, Fraxinus mandshurica, Q. mongolica - P. densiflora communities than that in the other communities. The species sequence-importance curve of the forest communities in $T\v{o}gyusan$ coincided with the ideal curve calculated by the lognormal-distribution theory.

본 논문에서는 채널이 시간 및 주파수에서 비선택적일 때를 가정하여 복수의 송신 안테나를 사용하는 SC-FDE(Single Carrier with Frequency Domain Equalization) 시스템에서 순환지연 다이버시티 기술과 위상 회전 기술의 성능을 비교한다. OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템에서는 위상 회전을 이용하여 시간축에서 변화하는 채널을 만드는 것과 순환지연 다이버시티를 사용하여 주파수 선택적 채널을 만드는 것은 유사한 성능을 보인다. 그러나 SC-FDE 시스템에서는 시간축에서 변화하는 채널을 만드는 것이 주파수축에서 변화하는 채널을 만드는 것보다 더 우수한 성능을 보일 수 있다.

In this paper, we analyzed new two-branch polarization diversity at the receiving end of a mobile link which a transmitter emits circularly polarized wave. To analyze the correlation coefficient considered by XPD(Cross Polarization Discrimination) between the two received signals, a simple theoretical model of circular polarization diversity is adopted and experimental measurements are also conducted. From both theoretical and measurement results, it can be seen that the proposed circular polarization diversity scheme is more effective than that of the conventional linear polarization diversity.
