A motor cylinder is widely used as an apparatus for transportation of a small scale load. It is, however, difficult for only one motor cylinder to transfer a large scale load such as a weir. The large scale load is transferred by two motor cylinders which are mounted on right and left of load itself. In this case, the displacement difference generated between two motor cylinders, namely, the synchronous error has a bad influence on the transportation. In this study, a synchronous control system is designed to restrain synchronous error caused by skew disturbance. The control system is composed of two disturbance observers and one synchronous controller. Each disturbance observer is designed to restrain the skew disturbance. And the synchronous controller is designed to achieve stable and accurate synchronization. Finally, the simulation results show that the designed control system is effective for the skew disturbance which lead to synchronous error.
In mechanical system, gear trains have backlash innately. With the presence of inherent backlash, the overall system performance is limited in many practical control systems. It has been reported that a disturbance observer has the property of effective removing disturbance and cutting measurement noise off. The plant is remodeled with modified disturbance observer to observe and compensate backlash characteristics. And this paper describes a method to design Q filter and to analyze the effects of disturbance and measurement noise to the output. It is shown that the vibration and tracking error caused by backlash were decreased and the time constant and relative degree are important factor to design Q filter.
Hydraulically driven manipulators are superior to electrically driven ones in the power density and electrical insulation. But an electro-hydraulic manipulator using hydraulic actuators has many nonlinear elements, and this parameter fluctuations are greater than those of electrically driven manipulator. So this is relatively difficult to realize not only stable contact work but also accurate force control for the autonomous field task such as the maintenance task of high voltage active electric line or the automatic excavation task by hydraulic excavator. In this report, we propose robust force control algorithm, which can be applied to there real field task such as the construction field, nuclear plant and so on. Proposed force controller has the same structure as that of disturbance observe for position control. The difference between force and position disturbance observer is that the input and output of disturbance observer are forces in the case force disturbance observer and the plant varies much compared to the case of position control. In the design of force disturbance observer, generalized plant is derived and the stabilized filter is designed by H infinity control theory to ensure the robuts t stability even though the stiffness of environment changes from sponge to steel, and the contact surface also changes from flat to round shape. Experimental results show that highly robust force tracking by a 6-link electro-hydraulic manipulator could be achieved under various environment conditions.
The sliding mode control (SMC) strategy is applied to a permanent magnet synchronous machine vector control system in this study to improve system robustness amid parameter changes and disturbances. In view of the intrinsic chattering of SMC, a current sliding mode control method with a load sliding mode observer is proposed. In this method, a current sliding mode control law based on variable exponent reaching law is deduced to overcome the disadvantage of the regular exponent reaching law being incapable of approaching the origin. A load torque-sliding mode observer with an adaptive switching gain is introduced to observe load disturbance and increase the minimum switching gain with the increase in the range of load disturbance, which intensifies system chattering. The load disturbance observed value is then applied to the output side of the current sliding mode controller as feed-forward compensation. Simulation and experimental results show that the designed method enhances system robustness amid load disturbance and effectively alleviates system chattering.

This paper is concerned with speed tracking control problem for permanent-magnet synchronous drives (PMSM) in the presence of an variable load torque and unknown model parameters. The disturbance of speed control caused by inaccuracy of model parameters has been investigated. A load torque observer has been proposed to observe the load torque and estimate the disturbance caused by inaccuracy of model parameters. Both inertia and friction coefficient are identified in gradient descent approach. The stability condition of the observer has also been studied. Furthermore an improved feed-forward control has been introduced to reduce the speed track error. The proposed control strategy has been verified by both simulation and experimental results.
In this paper, an improved predictive functional control (PFC) scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control system is proposed, on account of the standard PFC method cannot provides a satisfying disturbance rejection performance in the case of strong disturbances. The PFC-based method is first introduced in the control design of speed loop, since the good tracking and robustness properties of the PFC heavily depend on the accuracy of the internal model of the plant. However, in orthodox design of prediction model based control method, disturbances are not considered in the prediction model as well as the control design. A minimum-order observer (MOO) is introduced to estimate the disturbances, which structure is simple and can be realized at a low computational load. This paper adopted the MOO to observe the load torque, and the observations are then fed back into PFC model to rebuild it when considering the influence of perturbation. Therefore, an improved PFC strategy with torque compensation, called the PFC+MOO method, is presented. The validity of the proposed method was tested via simulation and experiments. Excellent results were obtained with respect to the speed trajectory tracking, stability, and disturbance rejection.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to observe the clinical effects of acupuncture therapy and Ecklonia cava extract on sleep disturbance in ALS patients. Methods : In this study one patient received acupuncture therapy and took Ecklonia cava extract. The effects of the combined administration of these treatments were evaluated using Numeric Rating Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Results : The NRS score for sleep disturbance decreased from 10 to 1 and the PSQI score decreased from between 12~13 to 8. After treatment, the patient stopped taking sleeping pills and antidepressant. Conclusions : Combined administration of acupuncture therapy and Ecklonia cava extract could be effective in improving sleep disturbances in ALS patient.
A new control method for precision robust position control of a brushless DC (BLDC) motor using asymptotically stable adaptive load torque observer is presented in the paper. Precision position control is obtained for the BLDC motor system approximately linearized using the field-orientation method Recently, many of these drive systems use BLDC motors to avoid backlashe. However, the disadvantages of the motor are high cost and complex control because of nonlinear characteristics. Also, the load torque disturbance directly affects the motor shaft. The application of the load torque observer is published in [1] using fixed gain. However, the motor flux linkage is not exactly known for a load torque observer. There is the problem of uncertainty to obtain very high precision position control. Therefore a model reference adaptive observer is considered to overcome the problem of unknown parameter and torque disturbance in this paper. The system stability analysis is carried out using Lyapunov stability theorem. As a result, asymptotically stable observe gain can be obtained without affecting the overall system response. The load disturbance detected by the asymptotically stable adaptive observer is compensated by feedforwarding the equivalent current which gives fast response. The experimenta results are presented in the paper.
In this study, a variable step algorithm is proposed on the basis of the perturb and observe method. The proposed algorithm can follow the maximum power point (MPP) quickly when solar irradiance changes rapidly. The proposed technique uses the voltage change characteristic at the MPP when the environment changes because of insolation or temperature. The MPP is tracked through the voltage control using a variable step method. This method determines the sudden change of solar irradiance by setting the threshold value and operates in fast tracking mode to track the MPP rapidly. When the operation point reaches the MPP, the mode switches to the variable step mode to minimize the steady state error. In addition, the output disturbance is decreased through the optimization of the control method design. The performance of the proposed MPPT algorithm is verified through simulation and experiment.
In this study, we documented the midlatitude F2-layer response to five strong geomagnetic storms with minimum Dst < -150 nT that occurred in solar minimum years using hourly values of the F2-layer critical frequency (foF2) from four ionosondes located in different hemispheres. The results were very limited, but they illustrated some peculiarities in the behavior of the F2-layer storm. During equinox, the characteristic ionospheric disturbance patterns over the Japanese station Wakkanai in the Northern Hemisphere and the Australian station Mundaring in the Southern Hemisphere were consistent with the well-known scenario by $Pr{\ddot{o}}lss$ (1993); however, during a December solstice magnetic storm, both stations did not observe any noticeable positive ionospheric disturbances. Over the "near-pole" European ionosonde, clear positive ionospheric storms were not observed during the events, but the "far-from-pole" Southern Hemisphere station Port Stanley showed prominent enhancements in F2-layer peak electron density in all magnetic storms except one. No event produced noticeable nighttime enhancements in foF2 over all four ionosondes.
