추계강우모형에서의 강우통계의 시간적 변동성 연구 (Importance of the Temporal Variability of Rainfall Statistics in Stochastic Rainfall Modeling)

  • A novel approach of Poisson cluster stochastic rainfall generator was validated in its ability to reproduce important rainfall and watershed response characteristics at 104 locations of the United States. The suggested novel approach - The Hybrid Model(THM), as compared to the traditional ones, has an additional function to account for the year-to-year variability of rainfall statistics. The two-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to see how well THM and traditional approach of Poisson cluster rainfall model reproduce the distribution of the following hydrologic variables: monthly maximum rainfall depths with 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 hour duration, monthly maximum flow peaks at the virtual watersheds with Curve Number of 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90; and monthly runoff depths at the same virtual watersheds. In all of the testing variables, THM significantly outperformed the traditional approach. This result indicates that the year-to-year variability of rainfall statistics contains important information about the characteristics of rainfall processes that were not considered by the conventional approach of Poisson cluster rainfall modeling and that further considering it in rainfall simulation will enhance the performance of the rainfall models.

Experimental Verification of Induction Phenomenon on Telecommunication Lines by Applying Its Occurrence Mechanisms Using an Artificial ELF Source Generator

  • In this paper, an electromagnetic induction on a telecommunication line by the distribution line of a power provision system or a feeder line of an electrified railway system has been verified through experiments. The basic cause of induction occurrence by these practical power provision systems is the returning current through the earth. This principle has been confirmed by the experiments documented in this paper which implemented these mechanisms to incur an induction. Experimental methods were used to produce the returning current through the earth. The experiment to find a relationship between inducing strength and the distance between the two phase lines in a power provision line has also been included to confirm that, when the distance is enlarged, the induction effect increases as the cross-nullification effect of magnetic fluxes decreases. An experiment for the existence of a shielding effect by another conduction length material has been addedas a protection measure against the induction.

  • This paper suggests a structure of power control system in floating wave-offshore wind hybrid power generation system. We have developed an unified SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system which can be used to monitor and control PCS(Power Conversion System) based on IEC61850. The SCADA system is essential to perform the algorithm like proportional distribution and data acquisition, monitoring, active power, reactive power control in hybrid power generation system. IEC61850 is an international standard for electrical substation automation systems. It was made to compensate the limitations of the legacy industrial protocols such as Modbus. In order to test the proposed SCADA system and algorithm, we have developed the wind-wave simulator based Modbus. We have designed a protocol conversion device based on real-time Linux for the communication between Modbus and IEC61850. In this study, SCADA system consists of four 3MW class wind turbines and twenty-four 100kW class wave force generator.

  • This Paper illustrates a new numerical analysis method using a nodal effective load model for nodal probabilistic production cost simulation of the load point in a composite power system. The new effective load model includes capacities and uncertainties of generators as well as transmission lines. The CMELDC(composite power system effective load duration curve) based on the new effective load model at HLll(Hierarchical Level H) has been developed also. The CMELDC can be obtained from convolution integral processing of the outage capacity probabilistic distribution function of the fictitious generator and the original load duration curve given at the load point. It is expected that the new model for the CMELDC proposed in this study will provide some solutions to many problems based on nodal and decentralized operation and control of an electric power systems under competition environment in future. The CMELDC based on the new model at HLll will extend the application areas of nodal probabilistic production cost simulation, outage cost assessment and reliability evaluation etc. at load points. The characteristics and effectiveness of this new model are illustrated by a case study of MRBTS(Modified Roy Billinton Test System).

마이크로 사이클론 연소기의 혼합 및 유동특성에 관한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Simulation of the Mixing and Flow Characteristics in a Micro Cyclone Combustor)

  • A micro cyclone combustor was developed to be used as a heat source of thermoelectric power generator (TPG). The cyclone combustor was designed so that fuel and air were supplied to the combustion chamber separately. The mixing and flow characteristics in the combustor were investigated numerically. The global equivalence ratio ($\Phi$), defined using the fuel and air flow rates, was introduced to examine the flow features of the combustor. The mixing of fuel and air inside the combustor could be well understood using the fuel concentration distribution. It was found that the weak recirculating zone was formed upper the fuel-supplying tube in case of ${\Phi}$<1.0. In addition, it was found that small regions that have a negative axial velocity exist near the fuel injection ports. It is assumed that these negative axial velocity regions can stabilize a flame inside the micro cyclone combustor.

Performance Evaluation of Regenerative Braking System Based on a HESS in Extended Range BEV

  • This paper proposed a regenerative braking system (RBS) strategy for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with a hybrid energy storage system (HESS) driven by a brushless DC (BLDC) motor. In the regenerative braking mode of BEV, the BLDC motor works as a generator. Consequently, the DC-link voltage is boosted and regenerative braking energy is transferred to a battery and/or ultracapacitor (UC) using a suitable switching pattern of the three-phase inverter. The energy stored in the HESS through reverse current flow can be exploited to improve acceleration and maintain the batteries from frequent deep discharging during high power mode. In addition, the artificial neural network (ANN)-based RBS control mechanism was utilized to optimize the switching scheme of the vehicular breaking force distribution. Furthermore, constant torque braking can be regulated using a PI controller. Different simulation and experiments were implemented and carried out to verify the performance of the proposed RBS strategy. The UC/battery RBS also contributed to improved vehicle acceleration and extended range BEVs.

  • 가변속 풍력발전 시스템의 시뮬레이션 모델을 PSCAD/EMTDC 기반으로 개발하였다. 개발된 시뮬레이션 모델은 바람 모델, 회전자 다이나믹스, 동기 발전기, 전력 변환기, 변압기, 배전 선로, 무한 모선 등으로 구성되어 있다. 특히 블레이드의 공기역학적 특성과 전력 변환기의 제어 전략도 포함되어 실질적인 풍력발전기의 동작 특성을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있다. 개발된 시뮬레이션 모델을 이용하여 입력 풍속의 변동, 발전기 주변 부하의 변동, 계통측 전원 전압의 불평형 등의 다양한 조건에서 풍력발전기의 과도 상태 거동 특성을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과는 앞으로 가변속 풍력발전기와 전력계통의 연계 운전시 신뢰성을 높이고 전력 시스템을 보호하기 위한 기초자료로서 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Power Tracing Method for Transmission Usage Allocation Considering Reactive Power

  • In many countries, the electric power industry is undergoing significant changes known as deregulation and restructuring. These alterations introduce competition in generation and retail and require open access to the transmission network. The competition of the electric power industry causes many issues to surface. Among them, unbundling of the transmission service is probably the most complicated as it is a single and integrated sector and the transmission revenue requirement must be allocated to market participants in a fair way. In these situations, it is valuable to research the methodologies to allocate transmission usage. The power tracing method offers useful information such as which generators supply a particular load or how much each generator (load) uses a particular transmission line. With this information, we can allocate required transmission revenue to market participants. Recently, several algorithms were proposed for tracing power flow but there is no dominant power tracing method. This paper proposes a power tracing method based on graph theory and complex-current distribution. For practicability, the proposed method for transmission usage allocation is applied to IEEE 30 buses and compared with the method proposed by Felix F.Wu.

  • 무선 센서 네트워크는 방대한 응용분야와 유비쿼터스 환경 하에서 중요한 한 부분을 차지하며 그 유용성을 입증하고 있다. 이런 무선 센서 네트워크의 센서 노드는 작은 크기를 바탕으로 목표 장소에 임의로 배치되어 다양한 데이터를 수집하는 능력이 탁월하다 하지만 이런 장점은 센서 노드의 한정된 하드웨어 능력과 전원공급 문제, 물리적 노출 문제로 인해 스스로를 위험에 노출시키는 여지를 만들게 되었다. 즉 일반적으로 사용되어지는 네트워크 보안 방법을 무선 센서 네트워크에 적응하기에는 센서 노드 능력에 한계가 있으며, 환경적 요소로 인해 불가능하다. 따라서 무선 센서 네트워크의 특성을 감안한 효과적인 보안 방법이 필요하며, 이런 맥락에 본 논문은 무선 센서 네트워크의 하드웨어적인 한계를 감안한 대칭키(Symmetric key) 기반의 키 분배 기법을 제안하고자 한다. 제안하는 기법에서는 모든 노드가 공통으로 소유한 전체 마스터 키(master key)와 의사 난수 생성기(pseudo random number generator:PRNG), 그리고 특정 대상으로부터 분배되는 난수(random number)의 조합을 통해 임의의 키를 생성, 갱신함으로써 다양한 종류의 무선 센서 네트워크 모델에 유연하게 대처할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 이를 위한 통신 회수를 최소화함으로써 효율성을 제공해 준다.

옥내 배선계통에서 직렬 아크의 검출과 판별 (Detection and Identification of the Series Arc in an Indoor Wiring System)

  • Most series arcs lead to electrical fires that cannot be interrupted by circuit breakers, because the arc's current is outside the breaker's operating range. In this paper, experiments were conducted on the detection and identification of series arcs to prevent electrical fires. Plugs and outlets specified in KS C 8305 were deteriorated to replicate arc faults commonly found in fields. The characteristics of series arcs resulting from various types of loose connections were determined by analyzing the frequency spectra and phase distributions of detected arc pulses. The results showed that the simulated arc defects used in this study were more similar to actual arc phenomena than the existing arc generator specified in UL 1699. In addition, loose connections, such as wire-wire, terminal-wire, and outlet-plug, can be identified by phases of $0^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$ and $360^{\circ}$, respectively. These phases can be detected by a band pass filter with a frequency range of 5~10 MHz, which can be used as the trip signal for circuit breakers.
