Uniform current distribution among conductor layers in HTS cables using IPTs (inter-phase transformers) was investigated. Conventional methods for current distribution, in which resistors are inserted to conductor layers, causes additional loss. In contrast, IPTs, which use magnetic coupling, make it possible that the current in parallel circuits is distributed uniformly with any load, and minimize the loss. In this study, IPTs were designed and fabricated for examination of uniform current distribution in the conductor layers of HTS cables. The ITP was designed through calculation of its impedance that can cancel the inductance of the conduction layers. The experimental setup consisted of four IPTs and four inductors that simulate the conductor layer inductance. Each layer was designed to feed 10 A. We examined the behavior of current distribution with IPTs for various layer inductances.
Water inrush through the destruction of water resisting rock mass structure was divided into direct water inrush, key block water inrush and splitting water inrush. In the direct water inrush, the Reynolds numbers has a significant effect on the distribution of the water flow and vortex occurred in the large Reynolds numbers. The permeability coefficient of the fracture is much larger than the rock, and the difference is between 104 and 107 times. The traditional theory and methods are not considering the effect of inertia force. In the position of the cross fracture, the distribution of water flow can only be linearly distributed according to the fracture opening degree. With the increase of Reynolds number, the relationship between water flow distribution and fracture opening is studied by Semtex.
Despite the frequent incidence of embryo fragmentation in early human embryos, the reason of the embryo fragmentation has not been known yet. This study was conducted to investigate the histological difference(s) between fragmented (FR) and non-fragmented (NFR) human embryos focusing on comparison of mitochondrial distribution and protein synthesis. Multi-pronuclei zygotes (MPZ) such as three or more pronuclei containing in human in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) program were used for this study. MPZ were cultured in TCM-199 supplemented with 10% of human fetal cord serum (hFCS) in 5% $CO_2$ incubator at $37^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. The cleaved embryos to 2-4 cells after 24 hours were grouped by their grade of fragmentation. Embryos were stained with Rhodamine123 (Rh123) and fluorescence was evaluated under the fluorescence microscope through PB 450-490 filter (Leitz). Regarding to protein synthesis during early human embryogenesis, there is no significant difference in the amount of synthetic proteins between FR and NFR embryos. Distribution of cytoplasmic organelles in embryos was evaluated by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The cytoplasmic distribution of mitochondria was different between FR and NFR embryos. The mitochondrial distribution was even in NFR, whereas severely aggregated in FR. It is not able to clarify in the present study whether this uneven mitochondrial distribution in FR embryo is the reason for embryo fragmentation or is the result from fragmentation. Physiological disparity related to the mitochondrial distribution may be one of the reasons for embryo fragmentation. Further studies should be addressed to investigate the physiological differences between FR and NFR embryos.
Purpose - As the global product network expands through both internationalization and diversification of the multimodal transportation system, corporate strategies have shifted to emphasize the importance of a high value-added international logistics system. To guide policies and strategies to attract relevant industries, this study aims to analyze the location competitiveness of regional logistics distribution center to serve Northeast Asia. Design/methodology - Multi-criteria techniques are considered to offer a promising framework for evaluating decision-making factors. This paper employed an analytic hierarchy process to analyze the hierarchal structure of determinants for selecting the location of a regional logistics distribution center. Adopting both qualitative and quantitative evaluations, this study suggest political implications for a regional logistics distribution center development, such as the direction of political support, service differentiation and infrastructure development. Findings - This study developed a location competitiveness evaluation model, based on the case study of the major port-cities in Northeast Asia. Evaluation model incorporates five factors underpinning 17 components extracted using factor analysis. The results revealed that the logistics factor is the most significant factor for evaluating the competitiveness of a regional logistics distribution center. The remaining factors were market, costs, and services environment. Comparing qualitative and quantitative evaluations, results provide useful insights for a regional logistics distribution center development in Northeast Asia. Originality/value - This study revealed differences between qualitative and quantitative evaluations. The finding implies that prior works on evaluation models of competitiveness has not successfully measured the gap between quantitative data and expert' evaluations. To overcome this limitation, this paper considered both actual data such as actual distance, cost, the number of companies located, and expert opinions.
In this paper, a protection system using Multi-Agent concept for power distribution network is proposed. Multi agent system consist of Feeder agent, OCR(Over Current Relay) agent, Recloser agent and Switch agent. An agent calculates and corrects its parameter by itself through communication with neighboring agents and its own intelligence algorithm. Simulations in a simple distribution network show the effectiveness of the suggested protection system. Multi-Agent System, protection of distribution network, Communication.

The distribution of stress and strain in elastic stages is investigated by the experiments of two dimensional photoelastic coating and Moire fringe method. Center block type and cover plate type of fillet welds are used as specimens in the test. The results are as follows. 1) Center block type gets less uniform stress distribution than cover plate type. And its stress concentration factor, especially at root, is larger than that at toe. 2) When main plate and cover plate closely contact and it cause friction, stress concentration decreases more than that in case of slit. That is because stress can be transmitted on the contact surface. 3) When slit is made, the outside of fillet gets more stress than the inside of it. 4) While the plastic strain distribution of center block type reaches the maximum at root and differs very slightly from that under lower loading, the plastic strain distribution of cover plate type is inclined to get the maximum at the outside of fillet rather than at root. 5) When the plastic strain value of cover plate type is compared with that of center block type at toe and root, the relations between the former and the latter shows root<toe and root>toe. 6) Because stress distribution becomes changed according to loading, fracture angle cannot be estimated by the peaks of elastic stress distribution. 7) The strain distribution just before fracture can be found by Moire fringe method.
In this paper, an illumination optical system that can mitigate the saturation phenomenon in the center of an image (caused by the typical flexible-endoscope illumination system using LEDs with Lambertian light distribution) is designed. When an LED with Lambertian light distribution is used as a light source, the amount of light in the center of the endoscopic illumination system is relatively high, compared to the periphery, causing saturation in the image. Since this phenomenon causes difficulty in detecting the patient's lesion, it is necessary to find a lighting-system design that can alleviate the saturation phenomenon. Therefore, in this paper a lighting system with bat-wing light distribution, which can lower the intensity at the center and secure the maximum amount of light at the maximum light distribution angle, is designed. In addition, to check the performance of the designed lighting system, a simulation of illumination and luminance is conducted for a system using a common aspherical lens with otherwise the same components. As a result, it is confirmed that the lighting system designed in this paper effectively reduces the luminance value at the center and secures more luminance values at the periphery than the familiar lighting system.

The distribution center location and routing problem involves interdependent decisions among facility, transportation, and inventory decisions. The design of distribution system affects the customers' purchase decision by sets the level of customer service to be offered. Thus the lower product availability may cause a loss of demand as falls off the customers' purchase intention, and this is related to the firm's profit reduction. This study considers the product availability of the distribution centers as the measure of the demand level change of the demand points, and represents relation between customer service and demand level with linear demand function. And this study represents the distribution center location and routing to demand point in order to maximize the total profit that considers the products' sales revenue by customer service, the production cost and the distribution system related costs.

By using GOSST theory, this paper models SSCFLP taking FLP, capacity of the facilities, single source capacitated limitation level and service enhancement issues into consideration. GOSST theory is strongly suggested as the solution procedure for these issues. We have used clustering of Center of Gravity method using the case study of the company S and then, took a heuristic GOSST measure in the alternative selection process. As a result, the research finds an alternative solution that both meets the satisfactory level of service and achieves consistent distribution capacity. When using this modeling, especially, to select the location of the logistics distribution center, the efficiency of current facilities is maximized while offering the minimum geometric distance for the alternative. Also, we can expect that the illustrated model and alternative solution can be applied to architecture of distribution system, to selection of telecommunication system locations for wireless network and to relocation of related facilities due to their sensitivities to location and weight.
The case for a massive black hole in the center of the Galaxy is reassessed using improved modeling techniques and observational data. A dark mass of ${\~}{\times} 10^6$ Mo is present within 0.2 pc of the Galactic center. However, the available data can be modeled, without appealing to a massive black hole, using an extended distribution of dark stellar remnants (neutron stars and stellar mass black holes) provided that the stellar initial mass function in the central parsec is deficient in stars less massive than $\~$1 Mo. Such a situation may be a natural consequence of repeated gas build-up followed by starbursts in the central region. A clear distinction between this and the massive central black hole model cannot be made using red giant tracers outside 0.2 pc due to uncertainties in the radial velocity dispersion distribution. The cluster of massive early-type emission-line stars in the central parcsec more effectively probe the mass distribution close to Sgr A $\ast$, but their small number and partial rotational support complicate mass determinations. Proper motion determinations for stars within 0.5' of Sgr A$\ast$ may be the most effective means of unambiguously determining the mass distribution in the immediate vicinity of the Galactic center.
