Design of a hardware system for ECG feature extraction (ECG 특징추출을 위한 하드웨어시스템의 설계)

  • This paper describes the design of a hardware system for ECG feature extraction based on pipeline processor consisting of three computers. ECG data is acquisited by 12 bit A/D converter with hardware QRS triggred detector. Four diagnostic parameters-heart, axis, and ST axis, and ST segment are used for the classification and the diagnosis of arrhythmia. The functions of the main CPU were distributed and processed with three microcomputers. Therefore the effective data process and the real time process using microcomputer can be obtained. The interconnection structure consisting of two common memory units is designed to decrease the delay time caused by data transfer between processors and designed by which the delay time can be taken 1% of one clock period.

  • In this paper, the authors present a row dynamic route planning by Q-learning. The proposed algorithm is executed in a cellular automation based traffic simulator, which is also newly created. In Vehicle Information and Communication System(VICS), which is an active field of Intelligent Transport System(ITS), information of traffic congestion is sent to each vehicle at real time. However, a centralized navigation system is not realistic to guide millions of vehicles in a megalopolis. Autonomous distributed systems should be more flexible and scalable, and also have a chance to focus on each vehicles demand. In such systems, each vehicle can search an own optimal route. We employ Q-learning of the reinforcement learning method to search an optimal or sub-optimal route, in which route drivers can avoid traffic congestions.   • Distributed Generation (DG) is predicted to play a important role in electric power system in the near future. insertion of DG system into existing distribution network has great impact on real-time system operation and planning. It is widely accepted that micro turbine generation (MTG) systems are currently attracting lot of attention to meet customers need in the distributed power generation market In order to investigate the performance of MT generation systems, their efficient modeling is required. This paper presents the modeling and simulation of a MT generation system suitable for grid-connected operation. The system comprises of a permanent magnet synchronous generator driven by a MT. A brief description of the overall system is given, and mathematical models for the MT and permanent magnet synchronous generator are presented. Also, the use of Power electronics in conditioning the power output of the generating system is demonstrated. Simulation studies with MATLAB/Simulink have been carried out in grid-connected operation mode of a DG system. The control strategies for grid connected operation mode of DG system is also presented.

  • Presence server should process massive SIP subscription request messages and massive presence event notifications from presence resources in real time. Therefore multiple servers architecture is needed for presence service system. In this paper, an architecture of multiple servers presence service system using SIP based CCMP control messages for lowering presence server load level has been presented. In this system, each presence server exchanges current load status using CCMP control messages, and total system load according to variance of users number and amount of presence resources has been effectively distributed processed. The CCMP control messages has been optimally designed to control presence servers, and exchange procedures of these control messages between presence servers has been also presented and the performance of the proposed multiple servers presence service system has been analysed by experiments. The result shows that average presence subscription processing time reduced from 40.8% to 69.2% and average presence notification processing time reduced from 29.4% to 62.7%.

  • The Train Diagnostic and Control System(TDCS) has been equipped on the modern Metro Vehicle, Locomotive and High Speed Train. The main purpose of this system is to support the identification of train status by real-time, the fast action against such failure events during revenue service and the fast convenient maintenance processes. Some of newest TCMS, a kind of control and monitoring system, has participated in the main control functions such as pantograph up and down, powering and braking command and so on. But these kind of control functions of the high speed train which has the operating speed over 300km/h are conducted by the train electrical logic circuits. The KTX-I and KTX-II - the local high speed train, are the typical example. The next generation TDCS for the ongoing project of distributed high speed train(HEMU) is designing with the target to increase main train control functions, to increase the reliability/avalibility and to increase the convenient driving. This paper introduces the overall configurations and functions of the new generation TDCS.

Low-Voltage and High-Current DC Output Realized by Multiple Power Cells Based on Deadbeat and Automatic Current Sharing Control

  • This paper presents a synchronous generator with a distributed system of multiple parallel three-phase power cells. This generator can immediately output high DC. Each power cell comprises three-phase windings and a three-phase synchronous rectification bridge with a deadbeat control of load power feedforward, which can improve the characteristics of dynamic response and reflect the load variance in real time. Furthermore, each power cell works well independently and modularly using the method of automatic maximum current sharing. The simulation and experimental results for the distributed controller of multiple power cells demonstrate that the deadbeat control method can respond quickly and optimize the quality of the energy. Meanwhile, automatic maximum current sharing can realize the validity of current sharing among power cells.

  • Small-scale reactors have recently attracted attention as a potential power generation source for the future. The Regional Energy Research Institute for Next Generation is currently developing a small-scale reactor called Regional Energy rX 10 MVA (REX-10). The current paper deals with a power system to be used with small-scale reactors for multi-purpose regional energy systems. This small nuclear system can supply electric and thermal energy like a co-generation system. The electrical model of the REX-10 has been developed as a part of the SCADA system. REX-10's dynamic and electromagnetic performance on the power system is analyzed. Simulations are carried out on a test system based on Ulleung Island's power system to validate REX-10 availability on a power system. RSCAD/RTDS and PSS/E software tools are used for the simulation.

  • This paper presents an efficient speech interactive agent rendering smooth car navigation and Telematics services, by employing embedded automatic speech recognition (ASR), distributed speech recognition (DSR) and text-to-speech (ITS) modules, all while enabling safe driving. A speech interactive agent is essentially a conversational tool providing command and control functions to drivers such' as enabling navigation task, audio/video manipulation, and E-commerce services through natural voice/response interactions between user and interface. While the benefits of automatic speech recognition and speech synthesizer have become well known, involved hardware resources are often limited and internal communication protocols are complex to achieve real time responses. As a result, performance degradation always exists in the embedded H/W system. To implement the speech interactive agent to accommodate the demands of user commands in real time, we propose to optimize the hardware dependent architectural codes for speed-up. In particular, we propose to provide a composite solution through memory reconfiguration and efficient arithmetic operation conversion, as well as invoking an effective out-of-vocabulary rejection algorithm, all made suitable for system operation under limited resources.

  • GIS is used to isolate large power electrical equipment using SF6 gas. While GIS has simple structure, it has few break down, relatively high reliability. But it is hard to check up faults for reason of pressure. Faults of GIS should have a ripple effect on community and be hard to recovery. Consequently, GIS imports a preventive diagnostic system to find internal faults in advance. It is most important that reliability on the GIS preventive diagnostic system, because it estimates abnormality of system by analysis result of collected data. But, exist system which used central data management is low efficiency, and hard to guarantee timeliness and accuracy of data. To guarantee timeliness and accuracy, the GIS preventive diagnostic system needs accordingly to use a real-time middleware. So, in this paper, to improve reliability of the GIS preventive diagnostic system, we use a middleware based on TMO for guaranteeing timeliness of real-time distributed computing. And we propose an improved GIS preventive diagnostic system applying data acquisition, monitoring and control methods based on the TMO model. The presented system uses the Communication Control Unit(CCU) for distributed data handling which is supported by TMO. CCU can improve performance of the GIS preventive diagnostic system by guaranteeing timeliness of data handling process and increasing reliability of data through the TMO middleware. And, it has designed to take full charge of overload on a data acquisition task had been processed in an exist server. So, it could reduce overload of the server and apply distribution environment from now. Therefore, the proposed system can improve performance and reliability of the GIS preventive diagnostic system and contribute to stable operation of GIS.

Distributed Flexible Tactile Sensor System Using Piezoelectric Film

  • This research is the development of a distributed flexible tactile sensor for service robots using PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) film for the detection of the contact state in real time. The tactile sensor which has 8$\times$8 taxels is fabricated using PVDF film and flexible circuitry. The proposed fabrication method is simple and easy to make the sensor in the laboratory without using any special equipment. Experimental results on static and dynamic properties are obtained. In order to investigate the properties of the sensor, the sensor output to the arbitrary forces and frequencies are measured using the shaker with the force sensor.
