Design and evaluation of a GQS-based time-critical event dissemination for distributed clouds

  • Cloud computing provides computation, software, data access, and storage services that do not require end-user knowledge of the physical location and configuration of the system that delivers the services. Cloud computing providers have setup several data centers at different geographical locations over the Internet in order to optimally serve needs of their customers around the world. One of the fundamental challenges in geographically distributed clouds is to provide efficient algorithms for supporting inter-cloud data management and dissemination. In this paper, we propose a group quorum system (GQS)-based dissemination for improving the interoperability of inter-cloud in time-critical event dissemination service, such as computing policy updating, message sharing, event notification and so forth. The proposed GQS-based method organizes these distributed clouds into a group quorum ring overlay to support a constant event dissemination latency. Our numerical results show that the GQS-based method improves the efficiency as compared with Chord-based and Plume methods.

  • This paper presents an architecture for distributed control systems and its underlying methodological framework. Ideas and concepts of distributed systems, artificial intelligence, and soft computing are merged into a unique architecture to provide cooperation, flexibility, and adaptability required by knowledge processing in intelligent control systems. The distinguished features of the architecture include a local problem solving capability to handle the specific requirements of each part of the system, an evolutionary case-based mechanism to improve performance and optimize controls, the use of linguistic variables as means for information aggregation, and fuzzy set theory to provide local control. A distributed traffic control system application is discussed to provide the details of the architecture, and to emphasize its usefulness. The performance of the distributed control system is compared with conventional control approaches under a variety of traffic situations.

  • Rapid expansion of network and increment of computer system access cause computer security to be an important issue. Hence, the researches in intrusion detection system(IDS)are active to reduce the risk from hackers. Considering IDS, we propose a new IDS model(DABIDS : Distributed Agent Based Intelligent intrusion Detection System) based on distributed intrusion detecting agents. The DABIDS dynamically collects intrusion behavior knowledge from each agents when some doubtable behaviors of users are detected and make new agents codes using intrusion scenario data base, and broadcast the detector codes to the distributed intrusion detecting agent of all node. This DABIDS can efficiently solve the problem to reduce the overhead for training detecting agent for intrusion behavior patterns.

Distributed Adaptive Virtual Impedance Control to Eliminate Reactive Power Sharing Errors in Single-Phase Islanded Microgrids

  • This paper proposes an enhanced distributed generation (DG) unit with an adaptive virtual impedance control approach in order to address the inaccurate reactive power sharing problem. The proposed method can adaptively regulate the DG virtual impedance, and the effect of the mismatch in feeder impedances is compensated to share the reactive power accurately. The proposed control strategy is fully distributed and the need for the microgrid central controller is eliminated. Furthermore, the proposed method can be directly implemented without requirement of pre-knowledge of the feeder impedances. Simulations are performed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.

  • 본산 환경에서의 시스템들 간의 상호운용성(Interoperability)이 중요해짐에 따라 다양한 조직들 간의 자원 공유 및 정보 교환이 자유로워지고 있다. 하지만, 시스템들 간의 의미적 이형질성(Semantic heterogeneity) 문제에 의하여 상호간의 정보의 정확한 의미 해석이 어려워짐에 따라 상호운용성에도 문제를 야기하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 온톨로지 기반의 분산 시스템들의 의미적 관계를 자동으로 발견하고 분산되어 있는 지식 자원을 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 온톨로지 매칭 기반의 지식 관리 시스템을 설계하였다. 온톨로지 매칭은 정보 시스템 간의 정보 교환을 자동화하는데 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 이와 같은 매칭을 자동화할 수 있도록 다양한 알고리즘(Matcher)들이 개발되어져왔으나 만족할 만한 정확도를 얻을 수도 없다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 알고리즘들의 결과들을 분석하고 평가함으로써 매칭 패턴(Matching Pattern: MP)를 구분 정의하고 각각 알고리즘들 간의 장단점을 비교할 수 있도록 하고자 한다. 이와 같은 시스템의 설계 및 구현을 통해 온톨로지 매칭의 정확성을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 대규모 온톨로지 매칭을 위한 Modular 온톨로지를 얻을 수 있다.

온라인 커뮤니티 교환구조, 결속력, 교환혜택에 관한 연구 (Reciprocity Structure, Solidarity, and Exchange Benefits in Online Communities)

  • 온라인 커뮤니티에서 교환구조가 커뮤니티 결속력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구는 매우 드물다. 더욱이 이 연구들은 서로 상충된 연구결과를 보고하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구결과를 재조명하기 위해 사회적 교환이론에 근거하여 커뮤니티 내 교환구조를 직접적 및 일반적 교환구조로 분류하고, 일반적 교환구조의 결정요인으로 지식의 분산도를 포함하였다. 그리고 상충된 연구결과를 설명하기 위해 교환혜택을 조절변수로 도입하였다. 본 연구는 네이버에서 활동하는 380개의 온라인 커뮤니티에서 데이터를 수집하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 지식의 분산도는 일반적 교환구조를 촉진하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 직접적, 일반적 교환구조 모두 커뮤니티 결속력에 긍정적 영향을 미치나, 이 관계는 교환혜택의 수준에 따라 조절되는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 교환혜택이 높은 그룹에서는 일반적 교환구조가 직접적 교환구조보다 커뮤니티 결속력에 미치는 영향이 더 큰 반면, 교환혜택이 낮은 그룹에서는 두 교환구조의 영향력 사이에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.

대구 지역 보육전공 대학생의 영양 지식과 식습관 및 식이자기효능감 (Nutritional Knowledge, Dietary Habits and Dietary Self-Efficacy of Childcare Major Students in Daegu)

  • The purpose of this study was to develope nutritional teaching materials and programs for childcare major students by determining interrelations between nutritional knowledge, dietary habits and dietary self-efficacy. Out of 400 questionnaires distributed to the students majoring in childcare in Daegu, 354 were analyzed by SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The results were summarized as follows. Childcare major students' distributions of nutritional knowledge, dietary habits and dietary self-efficacy were approximately all middle levels. Nutritional knowledge scores were influenced by age and self-assessment of health. Childcare major students' dietary habits were influenced by age, the degree of satisfaction of diet, and the degree of interest in diet. Dietary self-efficacy of childcare major students was influenced by gender, satisfaction of diet, whether or not they were on a diet, recognition of the need for nutritional knowledge, and the degree of interest in diet. Nutritional knowledge and dietary habits were positively correlated with dietary self-efficacy of childcare major students. In short, childcare major students with higher nutritional knowledge scores had higher dietary self-efficacy. Further, childcare major students who had a regular diet and balanced dietary habits had stronger dietary self-efficacy.

The Role of Brand Knowledge in Explaining Relationship between Brand-Centered Communications and Brand Commitment: Evidence from Public Banks Pakistan

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which internal brand communication (IBC) impacts on brand commitment (BC). Research design, data, and methodology - A structured questionnaire has been built and distributed on a total sample of 650 banking staff working in five public banks in Pakistan. Results - The findings of PLS-SEM revealed that besides the indirect effect of internal brand communication (IBC) on brand commitment via brand knowledge, the study also exposes a direct positive effect of IBC on brand commitment. This study also reveals that brand commitment is affected by brand knowledge and internal brand communication practices. The result of mediation reveals that brand knowledge partially mediated the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Practical implications- This study empirically validates that internal brand communication and brand knowledge are prerequisites for brand commitment. Therefore, managers, particularly in-service enterprises, should provide sufficient IBC practices and appropriate brand knowledge to enhance employees' brand commitment. Conclusions - The comprehensive analysis of the impact of brand knowledge on the proposed relationship. It further adds up to the branding literature, which is mostly qualitative and lacks empirical validation.

  • In the social information facilities with physical stacks, it is critical to arrange categories of knowledge since there should be conventional methods by which users and visitors can browse index of all sorts of media relating to their topics. The classical index system of knowledge has been developed with primitive libraries and museums and therefore the system can be addressed by analyzing typical cases of precedents. As the forth industrial revolution has emerged, there will be quite innovative approach to provide information to the public as well as the private. The coalition between knowledge and space has always been considered as essential characteristics that remind scholars of hierarchical layout of knowledge resources such as maps, books, documents and diverse specimens. This research assumes that the spatial layout of knowledge can be classified in terms of physical attributes, symbolic entities, and information media and it defines what coalition between knowledge and space is creative in order to enacting interactive dialogue among information navigators. The spaces in between the knowledges function as trasition areas where the index system informs and stimulates, where the interface between the different knowledges is optimized and therefore the library as the public facilities no longer dedicated to the text, but as an information space in which all sorts of media are distributed equally.
