  • In network human-robot interaction, human can access services of a robot system through the network The communication is done by interacting with the distributed sensors via voice, gestures or by using user network access device such as computer, PDA. The service organization and exploration is very important for this distributed system. In this paper we propose a new agent-based framework to integrate partners of this distributed system together and help users to explore the service effectively without complicated configuration. Our system consists of several robots. users and distributed sensors. These partners are connected in a decentralized but centralized control system using agent-based technology. Several experiments are conducted successfully using our framework The experiments show that this framework is good in term of increasing the availability of the system, reducing the time users and robots needs to connect to the network at the same time. The framework also provides some coordination methods for the human robot interaction system.

  • The existing distribution networks are growing with an increase of power demand more and more. Therefore, for efficient operation of distribution networks, operators are much in need of distributed generation. This paper describes a development of the digital protection relay(HIMAP) for protecting distributed generation which is expected to play an increasing role in electric power systems in the near future. This paper particularly introduces frequency protective algorithm and reverse power protective algorithm among the relaying algorithms for protecting distributed generation in distribution networks and resents capability of a developed digital protection relay including these algorithms.

  • According to the second plan of the Korean Government about technology development, utilization and popularization of new renewable energy, the continuous growth of distributed resources are expected. Various studies about impact of distributed resource on distribution system have been already accomplished. Rut there is a few paper about recloser and sectionalizer coordination and protection scheme in distribution system interconnected a number of distributed resources. In this paper, it is dealt with that recloser and sectionalizer coordination at the cases concerned with fault position. The problems of these cases are investigated through simulation.

  • This paper proposes a Distributed Transaction models based on the multimedia framework (MPEG-21) in digital convergence environment. Digital media market is growing up rapidly according to the extension of internet and universality of multimedia contents. So, importance of the effective management with the production and distribution of produced multimedia contents is becoming larger. For effective management of multimedia contents, the multimedia contents which are represented with different standard each other can be processed adaptively in the variable network environment. A free compatibility among the different terminals and standards are the essential particular should be offered for the digital convergence environment. A multimedia framework supports this compatibility and various multimedia services. In this paper, the Distributed Transaction models that multimedia contents can be circulated among the individual users safely and freely are proposed and the relation technologies are described.

  • Structural analysis of large-scale structures involving large amount of computational load and data storage requires high-performance computing resources. We have previously developed PC-level distributed structural analysis algorithms based on substructuring technique where each personal computer assigned to a slave node has been involved in the computations for single substructures. Recently, it has been proved by the authors that the performance of distributed structural analysis algorithm can be further enhanced by changing substructuring schemes. Therefore a new distributed structural analysis algorithm with one PC to multiple substructures scheme is presented in this paper. The algorithm is implemented on the network of multiple personal computers and applied to structural analysis of two dimensional frame structures.

  • The islanding protection for distributed resources (DR) becomes an important and emerging issue in power system protection since the distributed generator installations are rapidly increasing and most of the installed systems are interconnected with distribution network. In order to avoid the negative impacts on distributed network resulting from islanding operations of DR, it is necessary to detect the loss of mains (LOM) effectively. This paper presents a new LOM detection method using the rate of change in total harmonic distortion (THD) of current. The proposed method effectively detects LOM of the DR unit operating in parallel with the distribution network. We also verified the efficiency of the proposed method using the radial distribution network of IEEE 34 bus model.

  • A replication server is considered to be one of the most effective tools to cope with the problems that may be caused by the complex data replications in distributed database systems. In the distributed environment, locking a table is inevitable and it is the main reason to coerce the system practically. This paper presents an Asynchronous Replicator Scheme (ARS) that basically utilizes the system log as files named differential files to refresh the distributed data files with complicated queries, and that it prevents (normally, huge) base tables from being locked. We take join operations as the complicated queries, not only because the join operation covers almost all the operations, but also because it is one of the most time-consuming and data intensive operations in query processings.

  • This paper presents a new approach to the design of neural control system using digital signal processors in order to improve the precision and robustness. Robotic manipulators have bevome increasingly important in the field of flexible automation. High speed and high-precision trajectory tracking arre indispensable capabilities for their versatile application. the need to meet demanding control requirement in increasingly complex dynamical control systems under sygnificant uncertainties leads toward design of implementing real time neural control to provide an enhanced motion control for robotic manipulators. In this control scheme the ntworks intrduced are neural nets with dynamic neurouns whose dynamics are distributed over all the network nodes. The nets are trained by the distributed dynamic are distributed over all the network nodes. The nets are trained by the distributed dynamic back propagation algorithm. The proposed neural network control scheme is simple in structure fast in computation and suitable for implementation of real-time control, Performance of the neural controller is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for a SCAEA robot.

  • A distributed simulation with HLA/RTI provides stable and satisfactory results. In this study, a distributed simulation of Petri net models under the HLA/RTI framework is considered. Throughout our experiences, it is recognized that the proper use of interface specification and time management services are important in order to achieve successful implementation of RTI. The interfacing tokens that are delivered to other models are distinguished as information entity and physical entity. Both entities are modeled as Interaction Class in order to send and receive messages. In synchronizing local simulation clocks, a conservative method with NERA service is considered. A eel manufacturing system is modeled and implemented with RTI to illustrate the distributed simulation of Petri net models.
