라만 라이다 시스템을 이용한 라이다 중첩함수 산출 (Retrieval of Lidar Overlap Factor using Raman Lidar System)

  • The range-dependent overlap factor of a lidar system can be determined experimentally if a Raman backscatter signal by molecule is measured in addition to the usually observed elastic backscatter signal, which consists of a molecular component and a particle component. The direct determination of the overlap profile is presented and applied to a lidar measurement according to variation of telescope field-of-view and distance between telescope and transmitting laser. The retrieval of extinction coefficient by Raman method can generate high errors for heights below planetary boundary layer if the overlap effect is ignored. The overlap correction method presented here has been successfully applied to experimental data obtained in Gwangju, Korea.

  • In this paper we present a detail approach of the determination of IFOV (Instantaneous Field of View) of high-resolution (l m) panchromatic satellite image over test site. IFOV is the representative measurements as the determination of the spatial resolution in remote sensed imaging system. It can be defined as some area on the ground with the particular altitude when the satellite acquires the image at any given time. Especially, spatial resolution of passive sensors primarily depends on their IFOV. The determination of IFOV goes through simple steps of procedure as followings: Firstly, the GSD (Ground Sample Distance) should be computed at each point on the geometrically corrected image. Then, The GSD is converted into the IFOV. So we are going to explain our test procedures and results.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of planning factors to the outdoor space of the olympic village munchen. The result of the research are follows; 1) The horizontal gardens of the low buildings and hanging gardens on the terraces of the high-rise buildings are intended as a continuation of the concept of the modelled landscape. 2) By virtue of the choice of the type of building and the way in which the buildings are staggered, the residents have an unimpaired view of the green spaces and recreation areas. 3) Leisure value is further enhanced by the proximity of the residential arms to the footpath running north to south. 4) The terraces allow the residents to enjoy more sun and sky, so that the view into the distance is the rule. 5) To improve orientation, the pedestrian paths to the residential wings are also situated directly over the underground vehicle-access roads.

  • Purpose of this paper is to find the Baroquely characteristics in Korean Temple Architecture.(MA KOK-SA) We could find out the characteristics as follows; First, visual freedom and floating in the arrangement of the temple buildings through segmenting the axis. Second, tension of variations in size, distance, and frame. Third, diverse sceneries provided by Sequential(dynamic) view points. Fourth, visual process and sharp contrast between horizontality and verticality, and unexpected scenery, etc.

  • This paper proposes illumination-efficient iris image capturing method. face capture method for extraction of iris pattern with one high resolution camera needs a large scale near infrared illumination. we replace high-resolution camera with co-optic-axial combination between wide view camera and narrow view camera. because this method needs small scale illumination that illuminate only narrow camera viewing angle, we can capture iris pattern image with small scale near infrared illumination.

  • This paper presents a visual feedback system that controls a micromanipulator using multiple microscopic vision information. The micromanipulation stations basically have optical microscope. However the single field-of-view of optical microscope essentially limits the workspace of the micromanipulator and low dept-of-field makes it difficult to handle 3D-shaped micro objects. The system consists of a stereoscopic microscope, three CCD cameras, the micromanipulator and personal computer. The use of stereoscopic microscope which has long working distance and high depth-of-field with selective field-of-view improves the recognizability of 3D-shaped micro objects and provides a method for overcoming several essential limitations in micromanipulation.   • The relativistic theory has not been properly taken up by the marine hydrodynamicists. To take on a relativistic view, we confine ourselves to a simple vector case of a wave train in spacetime, to be shown to represent a sound wave or a surface wave, and bring in an observer who is travelling on another platform. We are interested in relative position of each event on these two worldlines. It, then, will be shown that the velocity, the acceleration, the encounter frequency, the group velocity, and the time and the space distance between the wave and the observer on the worldlines should all be derivable in principle. This is interpreted to mean that we really have the relativistic events taking place with different values of time dilation in the sense of 'spacetime', and that the well-known ${\lceil}special Theory of Relativity{\rfloor}$ applies just as well in hydrodynamic waves.

A Study of the Real-time Sensing by the Optical Current Sensor for GIS

  • In this study, a Web server was constructed using LabVIEW's DataSocket, which makes possible acquisition, analysis, and saving in real time. The output value of the optical current sensor at the web server PC was measured and the output value was displayed using the Web browser of the client PC. DataSocket by LabVIEW makes the construction of a Web server easier than other languages and is compatible with other application programs. An optical current sensor was composed using a 1310 [nm] laser diode, and 9/125 [${\mu}m$] standard single mode optical fiber and was created to be a close type sensor. Data measurement using Web servers has the advantage of monitoring electric power systems at a great distance and can fuse IT technology and electric power systems. Also, this measurement uses inexpensive mounting and programming when compared to existing measurement equipment allowing the construction of a measurement system in any situation or surrounding.

View Point Tracking for Parallax Barrier Display Using a Low Cost 3D Imager

  • We present an eye tracking system using a low cost 3D CMOS imager for 3D displays that ensures a correct auto stereoscopic view of position- dependent stereoscopic 3D images. The tracker is capable of segmenting the foreground objects (viewer) from background objects using their relative distance from the camera. The tracker is a novel 3D CMOS Image Sensor based on Time of Flight (TOF) principle using innovating photon gating techniques. The basic feature incorporates real time depth imaging by capturing the shape of a light-pulse front as it is reflected from a three dimensional object. The basic architecture and main building blocks of a real time depth CMOS pixel are described. For this application, we use a stereoscopic type of display using parallax barrier elements that is described as well.

시점 기반 고유공간을 이용한 얼굴 인식 (Face Recognition Using View-based EigenSpaces)

  • 본 논문은 주성분 분석으로 시점 기반 고유얼굴(view-based eigenface)을 생성하고, 그에 기반한 얼굴 인식을 수행하고자 한다. 주성분 분석을 통한 고유얼굴 생성은 얼굴 인식의 어려운 문제 중 하나인 특징 선택과 추출이라는 문제를 해결해 준다. 또한 얼굴 표정이나 방향의 변화에도 인식률이 저하되는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 얼굴 영상을 특징공간(고유공간)으로 변환할 때, 원 얼굴영상의 정보를 최대한으로 나타낼 수 있는 최적의 고유치 개수 선택은 얼굴 데이터베이스의 크기와 인식 속도에 영향을 끼친다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 고유치 개수를 고유치의 누적기여율을 이용해서 구한다. 이는 64$\times$64(=4096)차원의 원 얼굴 영상을 5~7차원으로 표현 가능하게 하였다. 그리고, 각 얼굴 방향에 따라 특징공간을 분리해서 생성함으로써 얼굴 방향의 변화에 따라 오인식률을 줄였다. 축소된 차원과 분리된 특징공간은 메모리 사용과 인식속도의 향상에 기여한다. 본 논문에서 얼굴의 인식은 Mahalanobis distance와 재구성 오차율을 고려해서 이루어졌다. 실험은 개인당 세가지 다른 방향을 가지는 얼굴 영상을 이용하여 이루어졌고, 실험결과, 약 93%의 인식률을 보여주었다.
