용융아연욕 탕면 높이 측정을 위한 초음파 센서의 사용에 관하여 (On the use of an acoustic sensor for measuring the level of a zinc pot)

  • Throughout CGL (Continuous Galvanizing Line) in steel works, zinc-coated steel sheets are produced which are used where long-running corrosion resistivity is required. During the galvanizing process, top dross is created and floated on the zinc pot. Because the dross leaves ill patterns on the coated sheets, a robot system is developed to automatically collect and remove the top dross. It consists of a robot and its carriage system, a pot level sensor, a system controller, and special robot tools. For the first time the level of zinc pot must be measured and fed back to the robot controller to avoid submersion of the robot hand into the hot zinc pot. In this paper, acoustic distance sensor is tested as a candidate for the pot level sensor in the view point of hot environment. Some considerations on the use of the acoustic distance sensor will be denoted.

  • The wireless sensor networks have been extensively researched. One of the issues in wireless sensor networks is a developing energy-efficient clustering protocol. Clustering algorithm provides an effective way to extend the lifetime of a wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we proposed an energy efficient clustering scheme by adjusting group size. In sensor network, the power consumption in data transmission between sensor nodes is strongly influenced by the distance of two nodes. And cluster size, that is the number of cluster member nodes, is also effected on energy consumption. Therefore we proposed the clustering scheme for high energy efficiency of entire sensor network by controlling cluster size according to the distance between cluster header and sink.

UHF CW/FM 전파 근접 감지 시스템의 개발 (Development of an UHF CW/FM Proximity Sensor System)

  • UHF CW /FM 전파 근접 감지 시스템을 개발하였다. 감지거리에 대한 이론적 해석, 부정합에 의한 안테나 급전 길이를 고려하였고 잡음, 간섭신호에 대한 시스템의 영향을 분석하였다. 분석결과 감지거리(FOH)는 변조주 파수($f_m$)와 변조지수($\beta$)에 반비례하여 감소하고 중섬주파수($f_m$)에 비례함을 확인하였다. 또한 $J_2(\beta)=0$을 만족 하는 ($\beta$)를 변조지수로 선택할 경우 안테나와 시스템사이의 부정합에 의한 영향과 잡음 및 간섭신호의 영향을 최 소화 할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 변조지수(($\beta$))의 조절로 감지거리 (FOH)를 변화시키는 방법으로 감지거리를 조절할 수 있음을 제시하였다. 본 시스템은 FM-CW 레이더 방식을 이용한 전파 근접 감지 시스템으로, 적은 전력으로도 동작이 가능하고 소형 경량화가 가능하므로 자동차 충돌 방지용 경보 장치, 근거리 측정 둥 의 각종 분야에 다양하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 감성조명의 소모전력 절감을 위한 거리 측정 센서 기반 자동 조광 제어 시스템을 제안하고 구현한다. 지속적인 색상변화를 표현해야 하는 감성 조명에서의 소비 전력 절감을 위하여 초음파 센서를 이용한 사용자와의 지속적인 거리 측정 및 이를 통한 PWM Dimming 제어를 수행한다. 조명장치는 마이크로 컨트롤러, LED Driver, 초음파 센서, 통신모듈 등으로 구성되며, 초음파 센서를 통해 측정된 거리 정보를 PWM 신호에 적용하여 실시간 밝기 제어를 수행한다. 기존 조명에서의 에너지 절감 기법을 감성조명에 적용하여 사용자 부재 시 불필요한 전력 소모를 최소화하는 능동형 조명 시스템을 구현한다.

There are typical two methods in measuring the distance by using laser light source, so called time of flight and optic-triangular methods.   • This paper is to develop a measurement system of the displacement distance using ultrasonic sensors. Two 400KHz ultrasonic sensors are used for realizing the measurement system, such as one sensor transmits the sine wave and the other sensor receives this wave. The displacement is measured by the phase difference between transmitting and receiving signals. A phase defecter transforms phase difference to voltage. Because the output voltage pattern has nonlinear characteristics, the relations of the voltage and the distance are learned by a neural network. As the results of teaming, the efficiency of measurement system is improved. This system can measure the displacement distance at the accuracy of 1 micrometer level.

  • Intelligent robots are widely needed in various areas of industry from extremely dangerous environments to service tasks. For autonomous mobile robots, it is significant to move itself safely to a destination point, recognizing its surroundings. Advances in sensor technology and its applications are achieved in order to develop an intelligent robot. In this paper, a mobile robot with a path-finding algorithm is presented. The path-finding algorithm is the one that does not only find a path to designated destination and also recognizes obstacles on the way, calculating its distance. 10 ultrasonic sensor are mounted on the front and rear of the mobile robot to figure out its position. Specular reflection and wide viewing angle, which are inherent characteristics of ultrasonic waves, cause errors in measuring distance.

A Study on a Dual Electromagnetic Sensor System for Weld Seam Tracking of I-Butt Joints

  • The weld seam tracking system for arc welding process uses various kinds of sensors such as arc sensor, vision sensor, laser displacement sensor and so on. Among the variety of sensors available, electro-magnetic sensor is one of the most useful methods especially in sheet metal butt-joint arc welding, primarily because it is hardly affected by the intense arc light and fume generated during the welding process, and also by the surface condition of weldments. In this study, a dual-electromagnetic sensor, which utilizes the induced current variation in the sensing coil due to the eddy current variation of the metal near the sensor, was developed for arc welding of sheet metal I-butt joints. The dual-electromagnetic sensor thus detects the offset displacement of weld line from the center of sensor head even though there's no clearance in the joint. A set of design variables of the sensor was determined far the maximum sensing capability through the repeated experiments. Seam tracking is performed by correcting the position of sensor to the amount of offset displacement every sampling period. From the experimental results, the developed sensor showed the excellent capability of weld seam detection when the sensor to workpiece distance is near less than 5 ㎜, and it was revealed that the system has excellent seam tracking ability for the I-butt joint of sheet metal.
