  • To prevent deformation and fracture of barrier ribs we suggest how to evaluate the mechanical properties of barrier ribs which depend on porosity and components by indentation technology. Our experimental results show that the mechanical properties of barrier ribs are strongly correlated to porosity and components.

  • The purpose of this study is to do a detailed analysis of the layouts and components of the main pages of the SOHO malls, which serve as its display window, and in turn, find a successful strategy for SOHO malls in the over saturated Internet shopping mall market. To analyze the components and layout of the main page of the SOHO Internet apparel shopping malls, top 50 Internet apparel shopping malls for woman and top 50 Internet apparel shopping malls for man, ranked within Internet shopping mall were selected. Data were collected from the coding sheets surveyed on the Internet apparel shopping malls for one month (September 2012). The result showed different patterns in various aspects between women's and men's malls. 1) The men's malls used product pictures more frequently in their main pages than the women's malls 2) The sections for jewelry and beauties were usually included in men's apparel shopping malls. 3) Men's malls usually had a rather crowded layout with numerous banners in order to expose their promotional items to the fullest. 4) men's malls provided a more detailed promotional and product information regarding the display items on its main pages. 5) Women's malls had a wider range of price distribution and generally higher prices.

  • Highly efficient blue and white phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) with an exciton-confining structure were investigated in this study. Effective charge confinement was achieved by stacking two emitting layers with different charge-transporting properties, and blue PHOLEDs with a maximum luminance efficiency of 47.9 lm/W were developed by using iridium(III) bis(4,6-(difluorophenyl) pyridinato-N,C2')picolinate (FIrpic) as an electrophosphorescent dopant. Moreover, when the optimized green and red emitting layers were sandwiched between the two stacked blue emitting layers, white PHOLEDs (WOLEDs) with peak external and luminance efficiencies of 19.0% coupling technique.and 54.0 lm/W, respectively, were obtained without the use of any out-coupling technique.

  • In an attempt to reduce processing cost and to improve resolution of PDPs, micro mold transfer processing route for barrier ribs of plasma display panel was developed. In this study, the parameters that may cause defects during the process were identified, which include the shrinkage during UV curing process, stress due to evaporation of organic components, and sintering shrinkage. Considering such parameters, UV curable paste was developed and barrier ribs of PDPs were successfully processed via the process. In addition, the process was successfully applied for the processing of barrier ribs with embedded counter electrodes.

  • Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has marketed a series of multimedia CRTs enabling bright picture windows in a high-resolution date display screen. The key components of the multimedia CRTs named Diamondtran $M^2$ are a high-gm (low drive-voltage) electron gun and an aperture grille mask. A high-gm electron gun has been developed by designing a beam forming region with high-gm configuration combining with a high current-density cathode. The development of next generation high-gm guns are also introduced

  • A flexible photoluminescent display device was proposed and fabrication technology with a low process temperature was investigated in order to improve its reliability. The proposed flexible photoluminescent display showed good characteristics in reliability and flexibility. The lifetime of the proposed flexible photoluminescent displays with organics components is estimated to be approximately more than 10,000 hours.

  • There is mounting evidence that complex computer system displays in control rooms contribute to cognitive complexity and, thus, to the probability of human error. Research shows that reaction time increases and response accuracy decreases as the number of elements in the display screen increase. However, in terms of supporting the control room operator, approaches focusing on addressing display complexity solely in terms of information density and its location and patterning, will fall short of delivering a properly designed interface. This paper argues that information complexity and semantic complexity are mandatory components when considering display complexity and that the addition of these concepts assists in understanding and resolving differences between designers and the preferences and performance of operators. This paper concludes that a number of simplified methods, when combined, can be used to estimate the impact that a particular display may have on the operator's ability to perform a function accurately and effectively. We present a mixed qualitative and quantitative approach and a method for complexity estimation.

  • AC-plasma display panels were examined before and after the aging process to analyze the effect of the aging process. The gas analysis was done to detect the impurity gases out of the MgO film and phosphor by a residual gas analyzer. There were no differences found in the components. The MgO film was analyzed to find out the effect of an ion bombardment due to discharge. The surface roughness of the MgO film was different from regional groups due to the different degree of ion bombardments. XPS analysis showed that the 8 hour aging process was not sufficient to remove $Mg(OH)_2$ and $MgCO_3$ existed on the MgO surface. Photoluminescence measurement showed the small deterioration of blue and green phosphor.

  • The electronic device, such as flat panel display (FPD), is very important in our life as a means of communication between humans. Liquid crystal display (LCD), which is categorized as a flat panel display, has been used in many display products, especially in TV industry. An LED TV is composed of several electrical components, such as liquid critical module (LCM), analog to digital convertor (AD), power supplier, and inverter board. These modules are very vulnerable to particulate contamination, and causing malfunction or visibility degradation. In this study, we developed a test method for prediction of LCM's lifetime. The test system consists of carbon particle generation flame, dilution system, test chamber, and particle concentration monitoring instrument. Since the carbon particles are the most abundant in the atmosphere and easily absorb light, soot particles are used as a challenging material for this test. The concentration of generated soot particles is set around 4,000,000 #/cc, which is 400 times higher than that of usual atmospheric particles. Through this experiment, we deduced the relationship between the dust concentration and life time of the test specimen.

  • Plastic substrate for flexible TFT LCD is developed. The gas barrier, optical properties and conductivity in the substrate is improved through depositing silicon oxide/nitride layer and ITO layer, coating polymer layer on plastic film by sputtering process and wet coating process. The whole production process of the plastic substrate is guaranteed the productivity by using roll to roll process.
