전북지방의 인삼에 발생하는 주요 병해충 조사 (Investigation into Disease and Pest Incidence of Panax ginseng in Jeonbuk Province)

  • 인삼에 발생하는 병해충을 적기에 방제하여 농약살포횟수를 줄이고 인삼을 친환경적으로 재배할 수 있는 기초자료를 얻기위하여 2006년도에 전북지방의 인삼포장에 발생하는 병해충 및 포장에 비래하는 해충을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 전북지역에서 발생하는 병의 종류는 진안은 Rhizoctonia solani 등 8종, 정읍은 Botrytis cinerea 등 7종, 고창은 Botrytis cinerea 등 6종이었다. 발생시기는 7월을 전후한 장마기에 가장 많이 발생하여 장마 이전에 철저한 병해방제가 요구되었다. 또한 전북지역에서 가장 문제시되는 병은 Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerea, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides 등이었다. 인삼 포장을 가해하는 해충을 조사한 결과, Asusta despecta sieboldiana와 Holotrichia sp.이었고 블랙라이트트랩을 이용한 결과에 있어서는 Maladera orientalis, Ostrinia furnacalis, Holotrichia morosa 등이 가장 많이 포획되었다.

Effect of Hydrogel on Survial of Serratia plymuthica A21-4 in Soils and Plant Disease Suppression

  • Survival of biocontrol agents and their effective colonization of rhizhosphere are the essential components for successful disease suppression. The effects of hydrogel supplement on bacterial survival and disease control were evaluated in pot and in the field. Addition of 2% hydrogel material to potting soil resulted in significant enhancement of colonization of biocontrol agent Serratia plymuthica A21-4 both in soil and rhizosphere of pepper plants. Rhizosphere colonization of S. plymuthica A21-4 retrieved from 40 days old pepper seedlings indicated 100 times higher bacterial population in hydrogel treated soil than in ordinary pot soil. The pepper plants sown in hydrogelated potting soil showed higher seed germination rate and the better growth of pepper plant than those in ordinary commercial pot soil. Although the suppression of Phytophthora capsid density in the potting soil by treatment of biocontrol agent A21-4 was not significantly different between in hydrogelated soil and ordinary potting soil, the suppression of Phytophthora blight between two treatments was significantly different. A21-4 treatment in hydrogelated potting soil was completely disease-free while same treatment in ordinary potting soil revealed 36% disease incidence. Our field study under natural disease occurrence also showed significantly less disease incidence(12.3%) in the A21-4 treatment in the hydrogelated soil compared to other treatments. Yield promotion of pepper by the A21-4 treatment in the hydrogelated potting soil was also recognized. Our results indicated that hydrogel amendment with biocontrol agent in pot soil would be a good alternative to protect pepper seedlings and increase plant yield.

배추무사마귀병 발생실태와 뿌리혹의 생성생태 (Survey of Field Conditions of Clubroot Disease Incidence of Chinese Cabbage in Major Production Areas and Ecology of Root Gall Development)

  • In 1997 surveys 82 out of 180 crucifer fields were infected with clubroot disease in a range of 1-100% of diseased plants and among crucifier crops Chinese cabbage was the most severe, In cropping systems Chinese cabbage-monocropping of Chinese cabbage-radish were found to be most common in major Chinese cabbage production areas. Welsh onion squash or paddy rice were also planted between cropping of Chinese cabbage. Paddy fields converted to upland were lowered in incidence of clubroot disease and fields with loam to silty loam soil were more severe in disease than those with sandy soil. Soil pH and organic contents were nor related to clubroot disease severity. Soil fauua such as total fungi bacteria actinomyces Pseudomonads and Bascillus were not correlated with severity of the disease. Root rall development on Chinese cabbage seedlings was initifially observed under a microscope 13 days after inoculation with Plasmodiophora brassicae but 18 days by naked eyes after inoculation. Root galls were formed mostly around collar roots and gradually spread to main root lateral roots and secondary root branches. Root galls started to enlarge greatly in size and weight from 23 days after inoculation. Chinese cabbage plants at mid-growth stage with root gall development were reduced to 1/2 of that of healthy plants in number of leaves 1/4-1/5 in above ground fresh weight 1/6 in root length but increased to 3 times in diameter of collar root. Diseased plants had little root hairs. Diseased Chinese cabbage plants at harvest were reduced by 9,1-11.8% in head weight compared to healthy plants a positive correlation was observed between root and head weight but those relationships were rot found in the diseased plants.

노인의 심뇌혈관질환 관련요인의 융복합적 규명 (A Study on Convergence Factors Related to Cardiovascular Disease in Korean Elderly)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 만 65세 이상 노인의 심뇌혈관질환의 융복합적 관련요인을 규명하고, 노인 맞춤형 건강프로그램 개발의 기초자료로 활용하기 위함이다. 본 연구는 2017년도 국민건강영양조사결과를 기초자료로 한 이차자료 분석연구이며, 우리나라 만 65세 이상의 노인 1,617명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료 분석은 IBM 23 ver. SPSS를 이용하였다. 회귀분석 결과 65세 이상 노인의 심뇌혈관질환에는 건강관련요인 중 주관적 건강상태, 걷기실천여부 및 고콜레스테롤혈증이 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 주관적 건강상태는 심뇌혈관질환 발생률이 '매우 좋음'일 경우보다 '좋음'일 경우 2.43배, '보통'일 경우 2.43배, ''나쁨'일 경우 2.39배 높았고, 매우 나쁨'일 경우에는 3.84배로 가장 높게 나타났다. 걷기실천여부는 걷기실천을 '하는 경우'보다 '하지 않는 경우'에 심뇌혈관질환의 발생이 1.44배 높게 나타났다. 고콜레스테롤혈증은 '없는 경우'보다 '있는 경우'에 심뇌혈관질환 발생률이 2.63배 높은 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 노인의 기저질환을 고려한 적극적인 예방적 간호중재 프로그램개발이 필요하다.

베체트 병에 대한 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Observation of $Beh{\varsigma}et's$ Disease Patients by Oriental medicine)

  • This observation was aimed to evaluate the clinical manifestations and clinical incidence of $Beh{\varsigma}et's$ Disease. It was records of patients seen in the period between January 1992 and December 1998 at the Department of Dermatology, Oriental Medical Hospital, Kyung Hee University. $Beh{\varsigma}et's$ Disease is a chronic, systemic disease which manifests itself as recurrent, multiple lesions in many organs, including the skin. The clinical features of $Beh{\varsigma}et's$ Disease are important as there is no reliable method of laboratory diagnosis. The results were summarized as follows; 1. The total number of patients were 34, including $42\%$ male and $52\%# female. 2. The pick incidence of age group was 30 to 39($44\%$). 3. The most frequent duration was from 2 years to 5 years($41\%$). 4. According to Diagnostic Criteria of the $Beh{\varsigma}et's$ Disease Research committee of Japan, there were $41\%\;of\;Incomplete\;type,\;29\%\;of\;Suspected,\;24\%\;of\;Complete,\;6\%$ of Passible. 5. The most common major symtom is a oral u1cer($91\%$), and there were erythema nodosum like lesion($79\%$), genital ulcer($56\%$), problem of the eyes($38\%$). 6. The most common minor symtom was arthritis($32\%$). 7. The first main symtom were oral ulcer($50\%$), erythema nodosum like lesion($26\%$), problem of the eyes($18\%$). 8. There were 2 cases of Intestinal $Beh{\varsigma}et's$ Disease and 5 cases of uveitis. 9. The most frequently treated prescription was Eunhwasagantang which occupied 79 of all, Gamisopunghwalhultang($44\%$) a.nd Gamipadoksan($41\%$), Gamiguakjungsan($24\%$) in that order of frequency.

Weather Conditions Drive the Damage Area Caused by Armillaria Root Disease in Coniferous Forests across Poland

  • Armillaria root disease affects forests around the world. It occurs in many habitats and causes losses in the infested stands. Weather conditions are important factors for growth and development of Armillaria species. Yet, the relation between occurrence of damage caused by Armillaria disease and weather variables are still poorly understood. Thus, we used generalized linear mixed models to determine the relationship between weather conditions of current and previous year (temperature, precipitation and their deviation from long-term averages, air humidity and soil temperature) and the incidence of Armillaria-induced damage in young (up to 20 years old) and older (over 20 years old) coniferous stands in selected forest districts across Poland. We used unique data, gathered over the course of 23 years (1987-2009) on tree damage incidence from Armillaria root disease and meteorological parameters from the 24-year period (1986-2009) to reflect the dynamics of damage occurrence and weather conditions. Weather parameters were better predictors of damage caused by Armillaria disease in younger stands than in older ones. The strongest predictor was soil temperature, especially that of the previous year growing season and the current year spring. We found that temperature and precipitation of different seasons in previous year had more pronounced effect on the young stand area affected by Armillaria. Each stand's age class was characterized by a different set of meteorological parameters that explained the area of disease occurrence. Moreover, forest district was included in all models and thus, was an important variable in explaining the stand area affected by Armillaria.

임부의 구강상태에 관한 연구 (A study on Oral condition of Pregnant Woman)

  • The auther has made the oral examination of 523 pregnant women-such as calculus, gingival disease, periodontal disease, and dental caries-who visit the dental department and obstetric department in National Medical Center in Seoul. After the above studies, results of the changes of the pregnant women's oral condition are following. 1. In creasing of calculus deposition due to the changes of saliva components. 2. Increasing of incidence of gingival and periodontal and pathological changes followed by calculus deposition. 3. Incidence of new cavities are not related to the pregnancy, but old cavities have become more progressive in dental caries.

Dravya-A Putative Organic Treatment Against Alternaria padwickii Infection in Paddy

  • Innate defence mechanism in plants can be triggered and enhanced by certain agents, referred as inducers against broad range of pathogens. In the present study, Dravya (a sea weed extract) was highly compatible with commonly available synthetic fungicides, Bavistin and Dithane M-45. Incidence of Alternaria padwickii and Bipolaris oryzae was also reduced to a greater extent in the paddy seed samples in Dravya treatment. Dravya also enhanced the seed germination and seedling vigour. Seedlings of treated samples also showed enhanced activity of peroxidase upon challenge inoculation with Alternaria padwickii. The enzyme activity was two fold high after the inoculation of pathogen. The suppression in disease incidence in growing plants indicated the promising effect of Dravya and Dithane M-45 under green-house condition.

버어리종 담배 포장에서의 가칭 담배 묘썩음병(Pythim spp.) 발생 및 방제에 관한 연구 (Stueies on the Occurrence of Seedling Rot of Burley Tobacco Transplants Caused By Pyhium spp. and Its Control Measures in Field.)

  • Seedling rot occurred on burley tobacco at the early growing stage after transplanting was surveyed in the Chonbuk province, the main area for burley tobacco production, during the 3 crop years from 1986. The incidence of disease was about 0.6-0.7% every year and major causal organisms were Pythium spp. More diseased plants were observed in the fields in which tobacco planted with improved mulching system than in that with any other mulching system. The temperature and relative humidity in the planting hole covered with polyethylene film for 11 days after transplanting were recorded by 27-45$^{\circ}C$ and 75~95%, respectively. The punched polyethylene film mulching field showed less diseased plants than that with improved mucking. In improved mulching system the longer period of mulching caused higher incidence of seedling rot(r=0.74**). Soil drench treatment of 200m1 of aqueous Metalaxyl Solution(125ppm) was effective to control the disease.

Infectious diseases in children and adolescents in the Republic of Korea: Past & recent status

  • Compared to the past decades, in recent decades, environmental and hygienic conditions in the Republic of Korea have improved along with socioeconomic developments, and the incidence of most infectious diseases, especially vaccine-preventable diseases, has greatly decreased due to active immunization with the developed level of health care. However, the incidence of some diseases has been increasing, and new diseases have been emerging. To cope with such changes actively, the government put the "Law for Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases" into effect; this law was entirely revised on December 30, 2010. In this report, I review the past and recent status of infectious diseases in the Republic of Korea, following the introduction of this law, on the basis of data in the "National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System", which had been accumulated between the years 1960 and 2010.
