미세 방전 가공에서 방전 면적과 축전 용량에 따른 가공율 특성 (Characteristics of Material Removal Rate According to Discharge Area and Capacitance in MEDM)

  • In this paper, investigated are the machining characteristics such as material removal rate and machining time with respect to discharge area and capacitance in micro electrical discharge machining (MEDM). As discharge area determined by the electrode size and capacitance change, the optimal feedrate to allow the minimum machining time changes. The smaller discharge area is, the lower MRR becomes because of the area effect. As the capacitance increases, MRR also increases. However there is the limit capacitance beyond which the MRR does not increase anymore. As the discharge area increases, the limit capacitance also increases.

  • A new ignition system concept was developed to improve ignition performance, accuracy of control and the reliability of the ignition system. The new ignition system has ho호 frequency discharge characteristics with 1.5-2.0 ms discharge duration, in place of the usual solitary longer duration event. We applied the system to a commercial engine to study its influence on the maximum combustion pressure attained during the cycle, when this peak pressure occurred, imep, variation rate of the engine speed and the flammability limit of a lean mixture. In this study, we clarified that the new ignition system had a beneficial effect of the lean mixture flammability limit. Also for a given mixture strength we found that the mew ignition system gave a higher peak cylinder pressure than in the case of the conventional ignition system.

코로나 방전을 이용한 고에너지 점화 시스템 개발 (Development of a High Energy Ignition System Using Corona Discharge)

  • A high energy ignition system is essential for lean burn or high EGR gasoline engine, which is getting more and more interest to improve fuel economy. The high energy ignition systems comprise plasma jet, laser beam, corona discharge and so on. In this study, a high energy ignition system using corona discharge is developed and tested in a constant volume combustion chamber. The developed system shows extension of lean limit of propane-air mixture and enhencement of combustion speed. Various shape of corona discharge plugs are also tested and compared in this study.

  • 본 논문에서는 선박용 HID조명의 방전 개시전압을 조절함으로써 초기 방전전류를 억제하여, HID조명의 안정적인 점등이 가능한 제어방식을 제안하였다. 제안된 제어 방식은 방전 대기전압까지 출력전압을 상승시킨 후, 충전전압의 저항부하 방전을 통하여 전압을 감소시키면서, 설계된 방전개시전압시점에서 이그니터를 점화하여 방전 개시 전류를 제한한다. 방전 후 정상상태에서는 정전류 제어로 조도를 제어하게 된다. 제안된 방식은 별도의 전압제어기를 포함하지 않으면서도, 방전개시 시점을 조절할 수 있으므로, 초기 방전 전류를 크게 제한할 수 있으므로, 안정적인 점등과 조명의 수명을 확대할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한 조명의 이상상태를 간단한 이상검출 회로를 통하여 순시적으로 감시하여 전체 시스템의 보호 성능을 개선하였다. 제안된 제어기는 실제 선박용 2.5[kW]급의 HID 탐사조명에 대한 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

소나무 분진의 최소착화에너지와 폭발한계 측정에 관한 연구 (The Measurement of Minimum Ignition Energy and Explosion Limit for Pine Tree Dust)

  • 열경화성 수지의 충전제로 많이 사용되고 있는 소나무 분진을 시료로 분진폭발의 최소착화에너지와 폭발한계를 측정하여 분진폭발 특성을 고찰하였다. 실험은 전극간 거리, 분진운 농도, 분진입도 및 수분 등에 대한 실험을 행하였다. 그 결과 전극간 거리가 4mm 이하로 되면 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 2mm 이하에서는 착화에너지가 갑자기 무한대로 되어 이 값이 한계전극 거리임을 알았다. 또한 분진운 농도가 증가하고 분진 입도가 미세할수록 폭발성이 용이하였으며, 동일한 입도의 분진에서 수분 함유량이 증가할수록 최소착화에너지가 증가하였다.

  • 원자력발전소로부터 배출되는 방사성물질에 의한 피폭선량을 규제하는데 있어 몇 가지 종류들의 방식들이 적용되어 왔다. ICRP에 의해 권고된 일차 선량 당량 제한치가 가장 근본적인 것이다. 일차 제한치가 직접 적용될 수 없을 때 외부 피폭의 경우 선량당량 지표가 내부피폭의 경우 최대허용농도, 연섭취 제한치 흑은 유도대기 농도 및 최대 신체 부하량 등이 이용되어 왔다. 그러나 이 값들은 실제 배출량을 제어하는 견지에서 바로 사용할 수 없어 유도방출 기준치를 구하게 된다. 본 연구에선 월성 원자력발전소에 대해 고려되는 특정환경들 사이의 전달속도가 시간에 독립적인, 장기성 농축인자 방식으로 방출속도의 유도 제한치를 구하였다.

희박연소기관용 용량방전식 다회수스파크 점화장치의 개발에 관한 기초 연구 (A basic study on development of multiple- spark capacitor discharge igniter for lean burn engine)

  • Enhancement of the ignitability was necessary to realize the lean burn engine. The characteristics of multiple-spark capacitor discharge igniter(MSCDI) usefulness of which for lean burn was examined in constant volume combustion chamber and evaluated in spark ignition engine. Noise of MSCDI for engine was restricted by adoption of low voltage control system. It was found that the adaptability for high engine speed was remarkable. Lean limit in engine with MSCDI was extended 10% than conventional coil ignition system. Also maximum brake thermal efficiency was almost enhanced 1%.

다회수 스파크 점화기관의 방전효과에 관한 연구 (A study on the effect of discharge in a multiple spark ignition engine)

  • The effect of discharge have been investigated for condition of spark in a multiple spark ignition engine, as the spark duration, capacitive and inductive discharge energy were calculated for condition of spark by ignition wave and energy formula. The useful portion of spark discharge is divided into capacitance portion and inductance portion. It was found that capacitive discharge energy and spark duration were increased according to increasing number of spark, and inductive discharge energy was increased according to increasing spark interval. Therefore engine torque was increase and lean misfire limit was extended comparing with the standard ignition system. It found that spark energy was discharged within ignition delay period availability acted on the formation and growth of flame kernel, and total spark energy was increased according to increasing number of spark times, but discharged spark energy after ignition delay became unavailable energy. And the capacitive discharge energy has the dominant effect for stoichiomeric or not very rich air-fuel mixture but inductive discharge energy has the dominant effect for lean air-fuel mixture.

  • Recently, the world faces the environmental problem such as air pollution due to harmful gas discharged from car and abnormal climate due to the green-house gases increased by the discharge of $CO_2$. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), one of alternative for this problem, is less harmful, compared to the existing fossil fuel, as gaseous fuel, and less carbon in fuel ingredients and carbon dioxide generation rate relatively favorable more than the existing fuel. However, CNG fuel has the weakness of slow flame propagation speed and difficult fast burn. On the other hand, hydrogen does not include carbon in fuel ingredients, and does not discharge harmful gas such as CO and HC. Moreover, it has strength of quick burning velocity and ignition is possible with small ignition energy source and it's has wide Lean Flammability Limit. If using this hydrogen with CNG fuel, the characteristics of output and discharge gas is improved by the mixer's burning velocity improved, and, at the same time, is possible to have stable lean combustion with the reduction of $CO_2$ expected. Therefore, this research tries to identify the characteristics of engine and emission gas when mixing CNG fuel and hydrogen in each portion and burning them in spark igniting engine, and grasp the lean combustion limit and emission gas characteristics according and use it as the basic data of hydrogen-CNG premixed engine.

방전Plasma 반응에 의한 NOx의 안전처리에 관한 연구 (A Study on Safety Treatment of NOx by Discharge Plasma Reaction)

  • In this experiment, we studied about concentration characteristics of $NO_x$ and generation of ozone in the reactor of corona discharge type by using mixed gas of $NO/N_2$ and $N_2/O_2$. In the case of the initial NO concentration increased, decrease rate of NO concentration was weakened and discharge input power of minimum NO concentration became high. When NO concentration was high, NO decomposition limit was appeared. And NO reduction rate was decreased, when initial NO concentration and discharge input power increased. When discharge input power was 5W, we could know the most proper energy value for treatment of NO. When the concentration of initial NO increased, generation of ozone decreased and in the case of same concentration of NO, according to discharge input power increase, generation of ozone increased.
