  • The research analyzes the factors that influence the job satisfaction of library volunteers for the disabled. Based on comparable literature review, this research extracts comprehensive factors that affect job satisfaction. The research found that job satisfaction depended on marital status, age, education and the channel that a volunteer went through to participate in assisting the disabled. Self-motivation also influenced the job satisfaction, but altruistic motivation did not. For environmental factors, compensation, prior experience, and roles did not influence the job satisfaction. For the factors related to the awareness of the value of volunteering, overall expectation and fitness of tasks were found to be passive with job satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect from acceptance of the latest 4th Industrial Revolution technologies on the relationships between interest in the latest technologies, resistance to the latest technologies, and anxiety in workers at welfare institutions for the disabled. In order to achieve this goal, data were collected from July to August 2018 from workers at disability welfare centers in P Metropolitan City, and we analyzed data from 187 persons. Multiple regression analysis was applied to test the causal relationships between variables; the step-by-step analysis model of Baron and Kenny (1986) was used to verify mediating effects, and the Sobel test was performed to verify their significance. The analyses verified that the degree of interest in the latest technologies affects the degree of resistance to, and anxiety over, the latest technologies through acceptance of the latest technologies. At the same time, we verified that the degree of interest had a complete mediation effect because it did not directly affect the acceptance. In addition, the Sobel test result showed that the mediating effect was statistically significant. In other words, it was found that the degree of interest in the latest 4th Industrial Revolution technologies from workers at welfare institutions for the disabled increases the possibility of adaptation to future society by lowering resistance and anxiety through acceptance of the latest technologies. Based on these results, a plan to reduce resistance to, and anxiety over, the latest technologies was sought, and related measures to increase interest in the latest technologies and their acceptance are suggested.

  • This study aims to investigate the factors on help-seeking behaviors among the disabled experiencing lifelong domestic violence and suggest practical plans to address the problems. According to an analysis of the data of the "2010 Domestic Violence Survey of South Korea", the occurrence rate of lifelong physical violence is 12.1% and that of severe physical violence is 6.2% among 273 adults with disabilities. The rate of help-seeking among the disabled experiencing lifelong domestic violence is 26.3%, which means two-thirds of the disabled experiencing domestic violence do so for a long time. The results of the study show that the experience of severe physical violence(p<.05), attitudes toward violence(p<.05), and awareness of domestic violence and related laws(p<.05) were found to have an impact on help-seeking behaviors among adults with disabilities experiencing domestic violence. However, an accepting attitude of disability and social connections of disabled were not found to have an impact on help-seeking behaviors. Based on these results, this study suggested raising awareness about domestic violence among the disabled, educating people with disabilities not to tolerate violence and informing them about the domestic violence-related legal system, and training service professionals (social workers, health professionals etc.) to screen the disabled for domestic violence and prevent them from becoming domestic violence victims.

However, according to Herzberg's motivation-hygiene theory, hygiene factors such as wages only lowers dissatisfaction and does not directly affect job satisfaction. This study raises questions about Herzberg's theory and seeks to confirm through empirical analysis. Based on data from the 2017 Employment Panel Survey for the Disabled, this study seeks to answer analyzes whether hygiene factors proposed by Herzberg affect the job satisfaction of disabled people or not. Furthermore, this study proposes what regional policies are needed to enhance job satisfaction for the disabled. In addition, through hierarchical linear model analysis, it was confirmed that local governments ought to provide education supports to the disabled workers in order to improve their job satisfactions.

  • This study was aimed at investigating important factors influencing career success among disabled workers. The current researcher scrutinized the degree to which variables and factors affect the career success and occupational turnover rates of the research participants. The participants in this study (n=837) were 374 workers with disabilities and 463 workers without disabilities. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the results of factor analysis showed important categories of conceptual themes of career success. The initial conceptual factor model did not accord with the empirical one. Second, both research participant groups seemed to be influenced by their occupational types. However, all predictive variables excluding the wage rate and the average length of work years had significant impact on job success for the disabled work group, while all the variables excluding the frequency of advice and length of working years had significant impact on job success for the non-disabled worker group. Third, the turnover rate was significantly influenced by the age and the experience of turnover of the research participants. However, the number of co-workers was the strongest predictive variable for the worker group with disabilities, but the occupation choice variable for the worker group without disabilities. Fifth, as a result of verifying the hypothetical path model, it showed that the first model was somewhat proper and could predict the career success on both research participant groups. In conclusion, the following research implications can be suggested. The occupational type of research participants was one of the most important variables to predict the career success for both research participant groups.
