PURPOSE: The purpose of this research is to check the attitudes and behavior toward the disabilities of occupational therapy students who are going to be the future subjects of medical rehabilitation service, based on this to provide occupational therapy students an alternative to have the right attitude toward the disabilities to find ways to reduce prejudice against them in society meeting in the future. METHODS: The survey was carried out to select randomly 6 cities and provinces nationwide with occupational therapy, to choose 20 students at each grade and have them to fill up the questionnaire themselves after reading the text, and as a result of the survey. RESULTS: The attitudes and behavior toward the disabilities according to the gender, there was more positive significant difference in women than men, the attitudes and behavior toward the disabilities by each grade, the higher grade they were, the more positive significant difference they had. As the results of the attitudes and behavior toward the disabilities whether to take classes related to them, there was a positive significant difference in the students who took classes related to disabilities person, and the results of the attitudes and behavior toward the disabilities whether to participate in a clinical practice and voluntary service, there was a positive significant difference in the students who took part in that service. CONCLUSION: The positive attitudes and behavior toward disabilities were higher in women than men, higher grade students than the lower, the more time for voluntary service and the more contact with disabilities persons. As through the results of this, the comprehensive and continuous education about the disabilities for the students in all Departments related to medical rehabilitation service and the suggestion for continuous research on the fundamental problems should be made in the future.

장애인권리협약은 장애인이 인간으로서 가지는 존엄성을 확인하고 장애인의 인권보장을 위해 노력할 의무를 밝힌 국제인권조약이다. 본 연구에서는 장애인권리협약을 효과적으로 이행하기 위해 공간정보 분야에서 추진해야할 과제를 도출하였다. 우선적으로 공간정보 분야에서 고려해야 할 사항으로는 접근성과 개인의 이동, 그리고 의견 표현 및 정보접근의 자유 등이다. 그리고 위의 사항을 보장하기 위한 공간정보를 장애인 공간정보라 정의하였다. 또한 장애인권리협약의 효과적 이행을 위한 공간정보 구축방안으로 먼저 장애인 대상 수요조사와 전문가 의견을 토대로 구축대상 장애인 공간정보 항목을 도출하였고 이를 구축하기 위한 전략으로 목표, 추진전략 및 추진과제, 추진체계를 제시하였다. 특히 장애인 공간정보 구축전략의 목표를 '장애인 등 사회적 약자가 비장애인과 다름없이 관련 정보를 획득하여 생활의 편리성을 추구하고 삶의 질을 향상하는 것'으로 설정하였다.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to identify the differences in obesity rates among people with and without disabilities, and evaluate the relationship between obesity rates and the existence of disabilities or characteristics of disabilities. Methods: Mass screening data from 2008 from the National Disability Registry and National Health Insurance (NHI) are used. For analysis, we classified physical disability into three subtypes: upper limb disability, lower limb disability, and spinal cord injury. For a control group, we extracted people without disabilities by each subtype. To adjust for the participation rate in the NHI mass screening, we calculated and adopted the weight stratified by sex, age, and grade of disability. Differences in obesity rates between people with and without disabilities were examined by a chi-squared test. In addition, the effect of the existence of disabilities and grade of disabilities on obesity was examined by multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: People with disabilities were found to have a higher obesity rate than those without disabilities. The obesity rates were 35.2% and 35.0% (people with disabilities vs. without disabilities) in the upper limb disability, 44.5% and 34.8% in the lower limb disability, 43.4% and 34.6% in the spinal cord injury. The odds for existence of physical disability and grade of disability are higher than the nondisabilities. Conclusions: These results show that people with physical disability have a higher vulnerability to obesity.

Federal disability law has evolved from several laws geared to protect people with disabilities since the late 1960s and early 1970s. When U.S. Congress passed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, no federal statute prohibited the majority of employers, program administrators, owners and managers of places of public accommodation and others from discriminating against people with disabilities. Toward the ends to assure equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with the disabilities, the ADA pursues three major strategies: Title I addresses inequality in employment, Title II, inequality in public services, and Title III, inequality in services and accommodations offered by private entities. The purposes of the study were to analyze the impact of the ADA on health care for persons with disabilities and to review the ongoing health policy reforms at the federal and state governments. Essential remedies that the ADA contemplates are based on two principles, simple discrimination and reasonable accommodation, which significantly improved access to quality care, especially long-term care, by persons with disabilities. However, the ongoing Medicaid policy reforms to control rising health care costs in the U.S. could threaten the access to care by persons with disabilities in optional groups and to optional care services by persons with disabilities in mandatory groups.

The purpose This study was conducted to explore the procedures and plans to establish a university-based lifelong education support system for the individuals with disabilities at Chosun University. The research method consisted of expert consultation. Chosun University not only has various units of major(department) that can deepen and integrate knowledge and technology related to lifelong education for the individuals with disabilities, but also has various leadership and various infrastructures that can lead the practice of lifelong education for the individuals with disabilities in Gwangju and Jeonnam areas. The contents of this study were presented five procedures and plans such as the establishment of maintenance and convergence of majors (departments) units, the development and operation of department-led regional-linked education programs through extracurricular education, the introduction of majors in connection with extracurricular education program-linked courses, the selection of core departments, the establishment of cooperative courses between university and graduate schools, and the establishment and operation of lifelong education programs for the individuals with disabilities centered on lifelong education centers. As a result of the study, it was analyzed that the academic foundation of lifelong education for the individuals with disabilities, the guarantee of educational opportunities for the individuals with disabilities, and the lead of linkage between local related organizations can be expected through the establishment of the support system for lifelong education for the individuals with disabilities at Chosun University.

본 논문은 고령화 사회에서 장애 노인의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고자 하며, 이를 위해 사회적 지지(가족지지, 동료지지)와 장애 노인 우울 감소, 장애 노인의 삶의 질(여가활동, 생활지원서비스, 치료서비스)간이 관계를 살펴보고, 생활자립성의 조절효과를 확인하였다. 본 연구는 9차 한국복지패널조사 장애인조사자료를 활용하였으며, 가설을 검증하기 위하여 PLS로 경로분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 사회적지지(가족 지지와 동료 지지)는 장애 노인 우울 감소에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 장애 노인의 우울 감소가 장애 노인의 삶의 질(여가생활, 생활지원서비스, 치료서비스)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 장애 노인의 생활 자립성이 높을수록 장애 노인의 우울 감소는 생활지원서비스와 치료서비스에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 반면에 여가생활에는 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 자립성을 갖춘 장애 노인일지라도 우울하면 여가활동은 하지 않음을 확인할 수 있었다.

본 연구는 대학생들의 발달장애인 선거권에 대한 인식을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 광주광역시의 A대학교와 B대학교에 재학 중인 학생들을 대상으로 편의표집을 통해 최종 370명의 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 장애관련 강좌를 수강한 적이 있는 경우에 발달장애인의 선거권에 대한 인식이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 장애관련 봉사 참여 횟수가 많을수록 발달장애인의 선거권에 대한 인식이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 발달장애인의 참정권 필요하다고 응답한 경우가 그렇지 않은 경우보다 선거권의 인식이 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 대학생을 포함한 비장애인들이 발달장애인의 선거권에 대한 긍정적인 태도와 인식을 확립하기 위한 방안 모색이 필요함을 제언하였다.

Nutrition education is essential for the health of people with disabilities. This paper presents nutrition education topics and operational directions for people with disabilities living in social welfare facilities for people with disabilities. This study was conducted through one-on-one, in-depth interviews with 11 operators and workers at social welfare facilities where people with disabilities reside. They were asked about the current status of nutrition education at the social welfare facility for people with disabilities where the interviewee works, major diseases of residents, topics of nutrition education needed, and preferred education methods to determine the type of nutrition education for people with disabilities needed in the field. As a topic of nutrition education, dietary education for obesity prevention and management was most requested, and education on basic nutritional ingredients was also desired. It was mentioned that the educational level would be appropriate for children aged 6~9, and using materials that would attract interest was recommended. Activity-based face-to-face education was preferred for the operation of the program, and it was mentioned that education would be possible in a short period. In addition, it was mentioned that nutrition education is necessary for people with disabilities and workers at social welfare facilities for people with disabilities. Confirming the topic and operation direction of the nutrition education program required by social welfare facilities for people with disabilities will make it possible to contribute to providing nutrition education tailored to social welfare facilities for people with disabilities in Korea.

장애인들은 오랫동안 공공도서관 서비스에서 소외되어 왔다. 공공도서관이 정보접근 및 이용의 격차해소라는 사회적 역할을 다하기 위해서는 도서관 이용자로서의 장애인에 대한 인식을 새롭게 하여야 할 것이며, 장애유형별로 맞춤화된 서비스를 제공함으로써 도서관에 대한 장애인들의 요구를 창출하고 그들을 도서관으로 유인하여야 할 것이다. 본 논문은 문헌연구를 통하여 장애인 및 도서관 장애인서비스에 대한 이해를 넓히고 보건복지부 장애인 통계 및 실태조사에 기초하여 우리나라 장애인의 장애유형별 특성을 분석하였으며, 그 결과를 토대로 공공도서관의 장애유형별 장애인서비스 개발의 방향을 제시하였다.

This study attempted to investigate which the effects of puppetry about disabilities for improving the acceptance of young children with disabilities. Total of 60 preschoolers served as experimental and control group and were administered pre and post test. The experimental group was presented with puppetry 6 times. The result showed that the acceptance to young children with disabilities was altered through puppetry. Significant gender difference was found in accessbility to young children with disabilities, girls were more improved than boys. However, there was no difference in perception about young children with disabilities and their classroom activity.
