  • Objectives This paper is focused on the development of supporting device for the direct moxibustion. This device makes one help to do moxibustion on one's head and back for oneself. Without this device, one can't avoid the other's help to do moxibustion on one's head and back. Methods The design protocols of the supporting device for the direct moxibustion are determined. And 3 dimensional simulation using Ultimaker's 3D printer was carried out. The parts of the supporting device for direct moxibustion are followings: 1. preparing of the main parts which are divided into an acupuncture touching sting and moxa holder. 2. preparing a grip part. Results 3 different lengths of the acupuncture touching sting such as 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm were experimented for the perfect burning of moxa. Among them, the acupuncture touching sting with 4mm length was best for the perfect burning and for the organic functional tests. Conclusion The supporting device for direct moxibustion will be helpful to minimize of the burning of skin, the pain, and the smoke.

  • This study investigates the case of clinical application for TomoDirect 3D-CRT(TD-3D) and TomoHelical 3D-CRT(TH-3D) with evaluating dose distribution for clinical application in each case. Treatment plans were created for 8 patients who had 3 dimensional conformal radiation therapy using TD-3D and TH-3D mode. Each patients were treated for sarcoma, CSI(craniospinal irradiaion), breast, brain, pancreas, spine metastasis, SVC syndrome and esophagus. DVH(dose volume histogram) and isodose curve were used for comparison of each treatment modality. TD-3D shows better dose distribution over the irradiation field without junction effect because TD-3D was not influenced by target length for sarcoma and CSI case. In breast case, dosimetric results of CTV, the average value of D 99%, D 95% were $49.2{\pm}0.4$ Gy, $49.9{\pm}0.4$ Gy and V 105%, V 110% were 0%, respectively. TH-3D with the dosimetric block decreased dose of normal organ in brain, pancreas, spine metastasis case. SCV syndrome also effectively decreased dose of normal organ by using dose block to the critical organs(spinal cord <38 Gy). TH-3D combined with other treatment modalities was possible to boost irradiation and was total dose was reduced to spinal cord in esophagus case(spinal cord <45 Gy, lung V 20 <20%). 3D-CRT using Tomotherapy could overcomes some dosimetric limitations, when we faced Conventional Linac based CRT and shows clinically proper dose distribution. In conclusion, 3D-CRT using Tomotherapy will be one of the effective 3D-CRT techniques.

  • In this paper, based on the constrained optimizatin technique and direct recovery method, we proesent a shape form shading (SFS) algorithm to recover a 3-D shape form an image. More specifically, we first employ the membrane model for a smoothness constraint to revoer a 3-D shape coarsely. We then compute the surface height directly to reduce the shape distortion due to a regularization term. In our approach, we can obtain a stable and accurate solution by the application of these two steps. Several simulation results on various images are provided and discussed in this paper and they show that the proposed algorithm extracts the 3-D information accurately and efficiently.

  • Direct-conversion RF front-end for 5-GHz WLAN is implemented in $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The front-end consists of a low noise amplifier, and low flicker noise down-conversion mixers. For the mixer, an inductor is included to resonate out parasitic tail capacitances in the transconductance stage at the operating frequency, thereby improves the flicker noise performance of the mixer, and the overall noise performance of the front-end. The receiver RF front-end has 6.5 dB noise figure, - 13 dBm input IP3, and voltage conversion gain of 20 dB with the power consumption of 30 mW.

  • Even if auto-stereoscopic and polarization based 3D displays are not working with the same principles, their common aim is to provide two different images in the eyes of the observer. In this paper we show that Fourier optics instrument for viewing angle measurements can be applied to both types of displays. Luminance measurements are made at different locations and what will be seen by an observer in front of the display is predicted. Precise 3D characteristics can be derived and direct comparison becomes possible.

  • Data containing 14,188 lactation and reproductive records of Korean Holstein cows at first parity distributed across 3,734 herd-year-season groups were analyzed to get genetic (co)variance estimates for milk yield, fat yield, calving ease, and days open. Milk and Fat yields were adjusted to 305 d. Heritabilities and genetic correlations were estimated in two different animal models on which were included direct genetic effects (Model 1) and direct+maternal genetic effects (Model 2) using REML algorithms. Milk and fat yields were affected by age at first calving as linear and quadratic. Heritability estimates of direct effects were 0.25 for milk yield, 0.17 for fat yield, 0.03 for calving ease and 0.03 for days open in Model 2. These estimates for maternal effects were 0.05, 0.08, 0.04 and less than 0.01 for each corresponding trait. Milk productions at first lactation were to show genetically favorable correlation with calving ease and days open for direct genetic effects (-0.24 - -0.11). Moreover, calving ease was correlated with days open of 0.30 for direct genetic effects. Correlations between direct and maternal effects for each trait were negatively correlated (-0.63 - -0.32). This study suggested that maternal additive genetic variance would be not ignorable for genetic evaluation of milk production as well as reproductive traits such as calving ease and days open at first parity. Furthermore, difficult calving would genetically influence the next conception.

  • Curved integral imaging is a simple method to display 3D images in space using lens array and provides wide viewing angle. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear 3D correlator based on the direct pixel-mapping (DPM) method in order to improve the recognition performance of 3D target object in curving-effective integral imaging. With this scheme, the elemental image array (EIA) originally picked up from a partially occluded 3-D target object can be converted into a resolution enhanced new EIA by using DPM method. Then, through nonlinear cross-correlations between the reconstructed reference and the target plane images, the improved pattern recognition can be performed from the correlation outputs. To show the feasibility of the proposed method, some preliminary experiments are carried out and results are presented by comparing the conventional method.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate a three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) treatment plan with regard to head tilting in whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) using TomoDirect (TD) mode in Tomotherapy. WBRT 3D-CRT by TD was compared for a total of five head tilt angles (-20°, -10°, 0°. +10° and +20°). The dose homogeneity index (HI) and prescription dose index (CI) were calculated to confirm the target coverage. The maximum and average doses for critical organs such as the lens, eyeball and parotid glands were calculated for different angles of head tilting. The HI and CI were closet to the result value of 1 at the head tilted angle +10° and +20°. At a head tilted angle of +10°, the dose to the lens and eyeballs decreased by about 74% and about 30%, when compared with the reference angle (0°), respectively. The results of this study suggest that a head angle of +10 with chin-up would save adequate target coverage and reduce exposure dose to the lens.

  • In this paper, the performance of Pt/$WO_3$ and Pt-$WO_3$ electrodes was studied for the direct methanol fuel cell. The characteristics of Pt/$WO_3$ electrode which was prepared by using electrodeposition method was tested with half-cell experiment. The characteristics of Pt-$WO_3$/C electrode which was Prepared by using freeze-drying method was tested with a single cell experiment. The performance of DMFC single cell which was prepared by Pt-$WO_3/C$ and Pt/C showed a current density of $32mA/cm^2$ at $110^{\circ}C$ & 0.3V(0.5mg Pt/$cm^2$).
