The CFL linearisation chip which is one of key devices in ultra-narrowband mobile radio transmitter using CQPSK digital modulation method is designed and implemented with $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The reduced size and low cost of transmitter are available by the use of direct-conversion and CFL ASIC chip, which improve the power effi챠ency and linearity of transmitting path. In addition, low power operation is possible through CMOS technology The performance test results of transmitter show -25 dBc improvement of IMD level at the 3 kHz frequency offset and then satisfy FCC 47 CFR 90.210 E emission mask in the operation of CFL ASIC chip. At that time, the transmitting power is about PEP(Peak-to-Envelope Power) 5 W. The main parameters to improve the transmitting characteristic and to compensate the distortion in feed back loop such as DC-offset, loop gain and phase value are interfaced with notebook PC to be controlled with S/W.
PXLM(Phosphor based x-ray light modulator) has a combined structure by phosphor, photoconductor, and liquid crystal and it can realize x-ray image of high resolution in clinical diagnosis area. In this study, we fabricated a photoconductor and investigated electrical and optical properties to confirm application possibility of radiator detector of PXLM structure. As photoconductor, amorphous selenium(a-Se), which is used most in DR(Digital radiography) of direct conversion method, was used and for formation of thin film, it was formed as $20{\mu}m-thick$ by using thermal vacuum evaporation system. For a produced a-Se film, through XRD(X-ray diffraction) and SEM(Scanning electron microscope), we investigated that amorphous structure was uniformly established and through optical measurement, for visible light of 40 $0\sim630nm$, it had absorption efficiency of 95 % and more. After fabricated a-Se film on the top of ITP substrate, hybrid structure was manufactured through forming $Gd_2O_3:Eu$ phosphor of $270{\mu}m-thick$ on the bottom of the substrate. As the result to confirm electrical property of the manufactured hybrid structure, in the case of appling $10V/{\mu}m$, leakage current of $2.5nA/cm^2$ and x-ray sensitivity of $7.31nC/cm^2/mR$ were investigated. Finally, we manufactured PXLM structure combined with hybrid structure and liquid crystal cell of TN(Twisted nematic) mode and then, investigated T-V(Transmission vs. voltage) curve of external light source for induced x-ray energy. PXLM structure showed a similar optical response with T-V curve that common TN mode liquid crystal cell showed according to electric field increase and in appling $50\sim100V$, it showed linear transmission efficiency of $12\sim18%$. This result suggested an application possibility of PXLM structure as radiation detector.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the behavior and performance of male and female broiler chickens reared under three different colors of light (white, blue and red) in a 23L:1D of lighting program. Day-old broiler chicks were obtained and assigned to six pens (16 males and 16 females per pen). Two pens each were located in three different rooms in an environmentally controlled shed and received the different light colors. All birds received same husbandry conditions. After a 3-day adaptation to the light color, behavior observations (pecking, resting, standing and walking) were made on six focal birds per pen, representing the sex ratio, by direct visual scans for 120 minutes daily for five days a week throughout the 5-week study. Body weights and feed intake were recorded at weekly intervals. On days 19 and 33, welfare indicators (tonic immobility reaction on the 19 and 33 days old; gait scores, foot pad and hock burns scores on 33 days old) were determined. Light color had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the weight gain and feed intake of broilers, but significantly (P<0.05) influenced the feed conversion ratio. Birds receiving the blue light were more (P<0.05) efficient than those receiving white and red lights. Resting was observed to be the major behavior pattern, irrespective of sex or light color. During early growth, resting behavior tended to be lower in birds receiving red light. However, standing and walking behaviors tended to be higher in birds receiving red light in 4 to 18 day-old age and all of experimental periods, respectively. These data indicate that light color can influence broiler performance and behavior.

Spatial interpolation has become a common procedure in converting temperature forecasts and observations at irregular points for use in regional scale ecosystem modeling and the model based decision support systems for resource management. Neglection of terrain effects in most spatial interpolations for short term temperatures may cause erroneous results in mountainous regions, where the observation network hardly covers full features of the complicated terrain. A spatial interpolation model for daytime hourly temperature was formulated based on error analysis of unsampled site with respect to the site topography. The model has a solar irradiance correction scheme in addition to the common backbone of the lapse rate - corrected inverse distance weighting. The solar irradiance scheme calculates the direct, diffuse and reflected components of shortwave radiation over any surfaces based on the sun-slope geometry and compares the sum with that over a reference surface. The deviation from the reference radiation is used to calculate the temperature correction term by an empirical conversion formula between the solar energy and the air temperature on any sloped surfaces at an hourly time scale, which can be prepared seasonally for each land cover type. When this model was applied to a 14 km by 22 km mountainous region at a 10 m horizontal resolution, the estimated hourly temperature surfaces showed a better agreement with the observed distribution than those by a conventional method.

In this paper, we propose and design IBFD system based on DCR. And then, we analyze effect of DC offset by self-interference in the proposed system. Also, we evaluate BER performance of the proposed system according to DC offset. As a result of the simulation, we can confirm that when the self-interference is not completely cancelled by the RF cancellation, linearity of desired signal and self-interference is distorted by DC offset. Also, in the proposed system using m-QAM modulation, DC offsets of multi-level are caused by self-interference with m-QAM modulation. As a result, constellations of desired signal and self-interference are greatly distorted. In contrast, in the proposed system using m-PSK modulation, DC offset of single level is caused by self-interference with m-PSK modulation. In this condition, we confirm that distortion of constellations of desired signal and self-interference is less than when using m-QAM modulation. That is, we can confirm that m-PSK modulation is effective than m-QAM modulation in DCR based IBFD system. Also, we can confirm that it is important to cancel self-interference as much as possible in RF-stage.
Background: Most of the Pinus densiflora forests, occupying the largest area, have been restored in South Korea since the 1970s. As young pioneer forests, the succession process is under way. Since the forests are distributed nationwide and are vulnerable to disturbances, the process may differ depending on the geography and/or site conditions. Therefore, we reviewed the direction, the seral communities, and the late-successional species of progressive and disturbance-driven succession nationwide in the cool-temperate zone through meta-analysis and empirical observations. Main text: As a result of a meta-analysis of the direct succession and vertical structure, we found that the P. densiflora forest is in a directionally progressive succession, changing to the broadleaved forest after forming a mixed forest with its overwhelming successor, Quercus species (particularly Q. mongolica and Q. serrata). In dry stands in a relative sense, the Quercus species was favored occupying over 80% of the abundance of the succeeding species. Therefore, in dry stands, it is presumed that Quercus-dominated stage would last for a long time due to the current dominance and long life span, and eventually, it settles as Quercus-broadleaved forest with a site change. Contrary to this, it is presumed that in mesic stands where Quercus species do not occur or have low abundance, the late-successional broadleaved species settle early to form a co-dominant forest with multiple species. Due to geographical limits, the species composition of the two late-successional forests is different. Disturbances such as insect pests and fire retrogressed vulnerable P. densiflora forest for a while. However, it was mostly restored to the Quercus forest and is expected to be incorporated in the pathway of the dry stand. Conclusions: We revealed the succession process of P. densiflora forests according to geography and moisture and found that stand moisture had a decisive effect on the species and abundance of the successor. Although the P. densiflora forest is undergoing structural changes, the forest is still young; so within a few decades, physiognomy is not likely to change. Therefore, the decrease in the forest area may be due to other causes such as disturbances and forest conversion rather than due to succession.

The effect of the code conversion process of Korean script (Hangul), also known as words for numbers, was investigated using event-related potentials (ERPs) during mental arithmetic operations. Study subjects were asked to determine whether the arithmetic results of a given target stimuli were correctly matched. Visual inspection and statistics of mean ERPs showed stimulus type-dependent processing rather than task-dependent processing. Results of addition and multiplication tasks revealed that the overall temporal profiles of the Arabic numerals were similar to the Hangul words for numbers. The only exception to this observation was a delayed positive-slope peak occurring around 300 ms, which was likely related to the encoding process of Hangul words for numbers to Arabic-digits, defined as a 'transcoding-related potential.' Source analysis confirmed that the topography of different waveforms for the two conditions was attributed to a single dipole located in the left temporo-parietal area; this area is known to be involved in Hangul words for number processing. These results suggest that the initial processing for encoding words for numbers was followed by arithmetic operations without direct access of internal number representation. Waste energy conversion to SRF (Solid Refuse Fuel) has the effects not alternative fossil fuel usage but also the reduction of greenhouse gas. But the direct burning of the SRF including a plastic waste generates air pollution problem like soot, dioxin, etc. so that an application of pyrolysis and gasification treatment should be needed. The purpose of this study is to supply a basic thermal data of the pyrolysis gasification characteristics in the plastic-rich SRF which are needed for developing the novel pyrolyser or gasifier. To do so, a bench-scale test rig was newly engineered, and then experiments were achieved for the production characteristics of gas, tar, and char. While SRF sample, gasification air ratio, holding time changed as 2 g, 0.691, 32 min respectively, the $H_2$ 1.36%, $CH_4$ 2.18%, CO 1.88%, $Cl_2$ 15.9 ppm, HCl 6.4 ppm were composed. Also light tar benzene $4.03g/m^3$, naphthalene $0.39g/m^3$, anthracene $0.11g/m^3$, pyrene $0.06g/m^3$, gravimetric tar $18g/m^3$, and char 0.29 g was formed.
1. The higher the temperature of the sea water, and the smaller the size of the oriental brown shrimp, the higher the feeding rate of the shrimp will be as long as the temperature ranges from $19^{\circ}\;to\;30^{\circ}C$, and each shrimp weighs from 1.6 to 14.9 grams. The average daily feeding rate is between 18 to 44 percent. 2. The nighttime feeding rate is always higher than the daytime feeding rate. However, the daytime feeding rate can be raised to from 22 to 37 percent of the daily feeding rate iii the non-sediment, dark or direct-sunshine-shielded conditions. Growth can thus be accelerated to that extent under such conditions. 3. When anchovy and short-necked clam meats were simultaneously used as food, a greater quantity of anchovy meat was consumed than short-necked clam meat both during the daytime and nighttime. When anchovy and short-necked clam meats were simultaneously given, the averaged daily feeding rates of anchovy and short-necked clam meats were 12.9 percent and 10.3 percent, respectively. 4. The following equation applies to the relationship between the freight of the oriental brown shrimp (W in grams) and their daily growth rate (DGR in percent): log DGR=0.7035-0.7864 log W. The daily growth rate is in inverse proportion to the size of the shrimp. 5. The efficiency of food conversion of the oriental brown shrimp fluctuates between 2.8 and 7.8 percent without extensive difference depending on the size of the shrimp. This was very small as compared with the corresponding figures so far known for fish and cuttlefish.
There are evidences that exogenous electric currents are capable of enhancing bone formation and resolution, and that the conversion of the bioelectric response to biochemical activity provides the directional component of orthodontic tooth movement. In addition, evidence has implicated cyclic nucleotides in alveolar bone cellular activation mechanism during orthodontic tooth movement. In view of these evidences, this study was performed to investigate the effects of exogenous electric currents on cyclic nuclotide levels in feline alveolar bone and the possible clinical application of electric currents as an additional orthodontic tool. In the first study, three groups of three adult cats were subjected to application of a constant direct current of $10{\pm}2$ microamperes to gingival tissue near maxillary canine noninvasively for 1, 3, and 7 days respectively. In the second study, three groups of three adult cats each were treated by an electric-orthodontic procedure for 1, 3, and 7 days respectively. The left maxillary (control) canine received an orthodontic force of 80gm alone at time of initiation, while the right maxillary (experimental) canine received combined force-electric stimulation (80gm of force and $10{\pm}2$ microamperes of a constant D.C. currents). Alveola, bone samples were obtain from the mesial (tension and/or cathode) and the distal (compression and/or anode) sites surrounding maxillary canines as well as from contralateral control sites. The samples were extracted, boiled, homogenized, and the supernatants were assayed for cyclic nucleotides (cAMP, cGMP) by a radioimmunoassay method. And also the amount of tooth movement was measured in the second study. On the basis of this study, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1. The fluctuation pattern of cyclic nucleotide levels in alveolar bone treated by exogenous electric currents was similar to that treated by orthodontic force. 2. The cAMP levels in alveolar bone of electrically treated teeth significantly elevated above the control values. And of electrically treated teeth, the values of the anode sites were higher than those of the cathode sites. 9. The cGMP levels in alveolar bone of electrically treated teeth elevated above the control values at the initiation phase of treatment, but dropped below the control values at time of termination. And of electrically treated teeth, the values of the cathode sites were higher than those of the anode sites. 4. The rate of tooth movement in teeth . treated by force-electric combination increased with the length of treatment as compared to that treated by mechanical force alone.
