The Characteristics of semantic association task performance in elderly with subjective memory impairment and mild cognitive impairment (주관적 기억장애 및 경도인지장애 노인의 의미연상과제 수행 특성)

  • The loss of semantic knowledge and impairments in semantic associations by semantic category is gaining increasing attention, as indicators of early-stage cognitive decline. As such, we assigned semantic association task (SAT) to normal elderly (NE) and those with subjective memory impairment (SMI) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to examine their performance by semantic subcategories and the differences in error patterns. We found a significant difference in the number of correct response and reaction time under the SAT categories among the three groups, with the highest performance observed in 'function' and the lowest performance in 'superordinate' and 'part/whole'. Moreover, the error frequency was the lowest in NE, followed by those with SMI and MCI, with the latter two groups showing a significant increase in no-response. Our findings demonstrate the varying extent and process of impairments in the semantic network by category over different stages of cognitive decline. Thus, we proposed SAT performance as an indicator to detect and follow-up on cognitive decline in elderly with cognitive disorder.

  • The name of the department is not only a means of notifying the existence of the department, but also acts as an important indicator that includes the overall curriculum, specialization strategy, student management, and employment of the department. The importance of the department name, which is a collection of internal and external public relations, has emerged greatly, but the existing research related to this is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, the terminology used in the names of beauty departments at two-year colleges and four-year colleges nationwide is surveyed year by year to contribute to the establishment of developmental goals that the department should aim for and a systematic analysis for curriculum reform. As a result of the study, in 1994, 7 schools (41.18%) had the most skin care departments, and in 2005, 2013 and 2020, 'Beauty' was 50 cases (21.55%), 67 cases (28.03%), and 92 cases (34.20%), respectively. Through this study, it is possible to analyze the overall trend of the beauty industry, and it is expected that it will be used as basic data when promoting a department name change or opening a department in the future.

  • In recent, ISM (Industrial Scientific Medical) band that is 2.4GHz band authorized free of charge is being widely used for smart phone, notebook computer, printer and portable multimedia devices. Accordingly, studies have been continuously conducted on the possibility of coexistence among nodes using ISM band. In particular, the interference of IEEE 802.11b based Wi-Fi device using overlapping channel during communication among IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor nodes suitable for low-power, low-speed communication using ISM band causes serious network performance deterioration of wireless sensor networks. This paper examined a method of identifying channel status to avoid interference among wireless communication devices using IEEE 802.11b (Wi-Fi) and other ISM bands during communication among IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor network nodes in ISM band. To identify channels occupied by Wi-Fi traffic, various studies are being conducted that use the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) value of interference signal obtained through ED (Energy Detection) feature that is one of IEEE 802.15.4 transmitter characteristics. This paper examines an algorithm that identifies the possibility of using more accurate channel by mixing utilization of interference signal and RSSI mean value of interference signal by wireless sensor network nodes. In addition, it verifies such algorithm by using OPNET Network verification simulator.

  • At present, aging-related degenerative muscle diseases are considered a serious problem. However, the drug effect on the treatment and prevention of sarcopenia has not been investigated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the value of extract of Pu'er tea as a remedy to alleviate the symptoms of sarcopenia. Pu'er tea extracts showed excellent radical scavenging ability. The expression of Myh3 was promoted and myotube formation also was increased by treatment of Pu'er tea extracts. These results suggest that Pu'er tea is a natural substance that promotes myogenesis, and is valuable as a material for pharmaceutical research on the prevention and treatment of various muscle diseases, including sarcopenia. And It is necessary to confirm specific indicator substances of puer tea and further study on this.

The Effect of Thirst on Impulsive Purchasing: Focusing on the Mediation of Self-Control (갈증이 충동구매에 미치는 영향: 자기통제의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Prior research on consumer psychology has primarily focused on when and why consumers exhibit impulsive behavior, such as impulse buying. This study focuses on physical stimulation during an impulse purchase as another meaningful factor. Specifically, this study examines whether thirst depletes cognitive resources. The results of two experiments show that impulse purchase tendency increases when consumers are thirsty (Exp. 1), and that the loss of self-control is based on the relationship between thirst and impulse purchase tendency (Exp. 2). These findings suggest that physical stimulation, such as thirst, may be a useful indicator of impulsive behavior in consumers.

Mediating Effect of Flourishing on the Relationship between Role Conflict and Burnout of School Counselors (전문상담교사의 역할갈등과 소진의 관계에서 플로리시의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of flourishing on the relationship between role conflict and burnout as perceived by school counselors. A total of 242 school counselors participated in this study. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS and PROCESS macro programs. The study results showed a significant positive correlation between role conflict and burnout and a significant negative correlation between flourishing and role conflict and burnout. In addition, depending on the three subtypes of role conflict (i.e., role-expectation conflict, individual-role conflict, and role ambiguity conflict), the effects on various sub-signs of burnout differed. It was found that flourishing mediated all of these variables of role conflict influencing burnout. These results suggest that flourishing can be considered an indicator for professionalism management of school counselors and a result showing that a positive psychological approach at the school level can be helpful in improving the effectiveness of school counseling by contributing positively not only to students but also to school counselors.

Business performance and earnings quality in the information and communication industry before and after the COVID-19 pandemic (코로나19 팬데믹 전·후 정보통신업의 경영성과와 이익의 질)

  • This study compared business performance and earnings quality before and after the COVID-19 pandemic for information and communication companies whose sales increased due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this, 4 indicators of ROA, growth potential, liquidity, and stability are used for business performance, and for earnings quality, the standard deviation of the residuals measured by the Dechow and Dichev(2002) model and Francis et al.(2005) model was used. As a result of the analysis, ROA, a representative business performance indicator, increased after xthe period compared to the period before the pandemic, but liquidity was rather deteriorated. As for the quality of earnings, it was confirmed that earnings sustainability is maintained in the post-pandemic period compared to the previous period, similar to ROA. Overall, the profit level and earnings quality of information and communications companies seemed to be improving, while liquidity was deteriorating. This confirms that companies that have overcome the immediate crisis are not ready to pay off their debts right away. Therefore, it suggests that companies need restructuring to reduce their increased debt from the time the COVID-19 subsides.

Classification of Forest Vertical Structure Using Machine Learning Analysis (머신러닝 기법을 이용한 산림의 층위구조 분류)

  • All vegetation colonies have layered structure. This layer is called 'forest vertical structure.' Nowadays it is considered as an important indicator to estimate forest's vital condition, diversity and environmental effect of forest. So forest vertical structure should be surveyed. However, vertical structure is a kind of inner structure, so forest surveys are generally conducted through field surveys, a traditional forest inventory method which costs plenty of time and budget. Therefore, in this study, we propose a useful method to classify the vertical structure of forests using remote sensing aerial photographs and machine learning capable of mass data mining in order to reduce time and budget for forest vertical structure investigation. We classified it as SVM (Support Vector Machine) using RGB airborne photos and LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) DSM (Digital Surface Model) DTM (Digital Terrain Model). Accuracy based on pixel count is 66.22% when compared to field survey results. It is concluded that classification accuracy of layer classification is relatively high for single-layer and multi-layer classification, but it was concluded that it is difficult in multi-layer classification. The results of this study are expected to further develop the field of machine learning research on vegetation structure by collecting various vegetation data and image data in the future.

Predicting Unsaturated Soil Water Content Using CIELAB Color System-based Soil Color (CIELAB 색 표시계 기반 토색을 활용한 불포화토 함수비 예측 연구)

  • A study was conducted to use soil color obtained from digital im ages as an indicator of soil water content. Digital images of Jumoonjin standard sand with five different water contents were captured under nine different lighting conditions. Through digital image processing, the soil color of the sample was obtained based on the CIELAB color system, and the effect of lighting conditions and water content on the soil color was analyzed. The results indicated that L* showed a high correlation with illuminance, whereas a* and b* showed a high correlation with color temperature. As the water content increased, L*, which represents the brightness of the soil color, decreased, and a* and b* increased. Therefore, the soil color changed from green and blue to red and yellow. Based on the regression analysis results of lighting conditions, water content, and soil color, a water content predicting method based on the soil color of silica-based sand photographed under irregular light conditions was proposed. The proposed method can predict the water content with a m axim um error of 0.29%.
