  • It is true that the new development in digital technology has Influenced on the definition of animation like it did on the other fields of an, but this doesnt mean this development drastically changes the traditional concept and replaces it with innovative new one. The more the technology is being developed, the mon it needs traditional base that can lead it to what it originally should be. As an example, computer animation companies are constantly seeking for people who have traditional animation background rather than well-trained computer oriented artists. This means digital technology will be no more a technological threat to the people who has traditional animation background. Consequently, when considering the extended concept caused by this new technology, we have to find its base on the traditional animation concept. Since we dont have any fundamental base in traditional animation and technological base in computer animation, we should consider those in advanced countries as a standard. However, in these days, there is a tendency to worship the words themselves such as "digital revolution", "information technology" etc., not the basics behind them. We cannot expect any achievement with this in mind. This study might be a short cut to the students and animators who want to learn and approach computer animation in a right wav.

SDR 시스템을 위한 MPI 기반 WiMAX 기지국의 구현 (Implementation of MPI-based WiMAX Base Station for SDR System)

  • Compared to the conventional Hardware-oriented base stations, Software Defined Radio (SDR)-based base station provides various advantages especially in flexibility and expandability. It enables the multimode capability required in 4th-generation (4G) environment which aims at a convergence network of various kinds of communication standards. However, since a single base station processes all data required in various multiple waveforms, the SDR base station faces a problem of data processing speed. In this paper, we propose a new concept of SDR base station system which adopts a parallel processing technology of clustering environment. We implemented a WiMAX system with SDR concept which adopts the Message Passing Interface (MPI) technology which enables the speed-up operations. In order to maximize the efficiency of parallel processing in signal processing, we analyze how the algorithm at each of modules is related to data to be processed. Through the implemented system, we show a drastic improvement in operation time due to parallel processing using the proposed MPI technology. In addition, we demonstrate a feasibility of SDR system for 4G or even beyond-4G as well.

  • Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a subset of Internet of Things (IoT) and it is an infrastructure for vehicles. Therefore, IoV consists of three main network including inter-vehicle network, intra-vehicle network, and vehicular mobile internet. IoV mainly used in urban traffic environment to provide network access for drivers, passengers and traffic management. Accordingly, many research works have focused on network technology. But, recent concerted efforts in academia and industry point to paradigm shift in IoV system. In this paper, we proposed a knowledge base for intelligence service in IoV. A detailed design and implementation of the proposed knowledged base is illustrated. We hope this work will show power of IoV as a disruptive technology.

디지털 전환기의 후발국 기술추격 패턴 분석 : 디지털 TV 사례 (Digital Transofrmation and Leapfrogging of a Catching-up Country: the Case of Korean Digital TV Industry)

  • This paper examined the leapfrogging of Korean Digital TV Industry in the midst of digital Revolution. Despite the lack of sufficient capability and core knowledge base, the Korean firms succeeded in the catching up forerunner firms in the Digital TV industry. The reasons of the success of Korean firms were as follows. Firstly, the Korean firms had some complementary asset, such as the experience of producing analog TV, and were able to develop the prototype digital TV given the accesses to the foreign knowledge via overseas R&D posts and acquisition of a foreign company. Secondly, the Korean firms were not locked in the analog technologies. As a follower, they had little sunk cost on the existing analog technologies. Thirdly, New mode of innovation, such as National R&D program for the development of HDTV and ASIC, were used as a tool for the mobilization of scarce knowledge base of digital technologies and the sharing the risks of development of path-breaking new technologies.

직접변환방식을 이용한 멀티캐리어 디지털 송신기 설계 (Design of Multi-carrier Digital Transmitter Using a Direct Conversion Scheme)

  • 본 논문에서는 직접변환방식을 이용한 CDMA 기지국용 멀티캐리어 디지털 송신기를 설계하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 성능을 검증해 보았다. 먼저, 멀티캐리어 송신기를 설계하기 위해 필요한 새로운 기술들을 검토해보고, 이 새로운 기술을 적용하여 멀티캐리어 송신기를 설계하고 시뮬레이션 하였다. 설계와 시뮬레이션은 Agilent Technologies사의 RF 시뮬레이션 S/W인 ADS (Advanced Design System)을 사용하였으며, 디지털 블록과 아날로그 블록으로 나누어 설계한 후 두 블록을 co-simulation하여 결과를 분석하였다. 결과에 의하면, 직접변환방식을 이용하여 멀티캐리어 디지털 송신기를 구현한 경우 최종 아날로그출력이 시스템의 요구조건 (IS-97 & 3G TS 25.104) 인 스펙트럼 마스크 특성을 만족하였다. 이것은 제안한 멀티캐리어 디지털 송신기의 성능이 CDMA 기지국에 적용될 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서 제안한 직접변환방식을 이용한 멀티캐리어 디지털 송신기는 향후 CDMA 기지국에 적용되어 구현될 때, 가격적으로나 기술적으로 한 단계 발전된 시스템을 구현할 수 있다.

  • The period from the early years of the 21st Century, when the birth of Digital Clothing received as a kind of digital cultures in the modern information society, to the present time, the period is studied on as a social transition in the revolutionary digital technology in parallel with the fashion changes which have an effect on our thoughts and our life style. After the 2000's, when digital was perceived as a culture, information technology came into being owing to the technological development in the network and informative and communicative technology. This study tried to grasp the tendency of the times to Digital Clothing, which occurred in the new situation of Digital Technology, and then on the base of it, tried to classify the expressive characteristics in the Digital Clothing as the Cyberspace, Global Network, high functionality Smart Textiles and digital technology. The social reformation by the revolutionary digital technology is coming forth in the New Fashion of the digital Clothing, with the development of technology and network in the Cyberspace and real space. the Digital Clothing which led to the revolutionary change in New Fashion occurred, and by the same time, gradually the phenomena of Digital Consuming Culture is expansive.

  • The core of the change in the era of the 4th industrial revolution is the change in the base of 'digital technology'. These changes are incomparably large and are expected to have a more important impact on our lives than ever before. One of the major inflection points in the transition to the digital era is the education field, and IT technology has become an essential element in the educational field. Accordingly, this study examines domestic research trends related to the educational environment based on digital technology. Then, we would like to provide implications for the establishment of a digital-based educational environment that will change in the future. To this end, Semantic network analysis has been conducted to quantitatively structure text data obtained from studies related to digital technology in the field of mathematics education over the past 10 years, and the discussion will continue based on the results.

  • The base composition for a construction information union and application is insufficient, because the existent information driving for the underground facility is separately promoted from management organization. This Study is to analyze a accuracy by converting pre-constructive underground facility database to the unification database of digital map base and improve the accuracy for a field surveying. moreover, These results is to construct the information common system of web base GIS by jointing internet technology.

A Study on Ways to Vitalize Digital Contents Business through IP Holding Company

  • In order to have the highest level of a certain society's technology be evaluated as digital contents technology the value concept of such technology's social utilization must be established while active investment on the technology takes place and makes it the subject of social capitalization. This study wishes to discuss the strategies and methods of establishing and managing IP holding company which requires business activation with digital contents technology at its base, research ways of vitalizing IP holding company to expand social utility values of contents technology, suggest necessary systemic improvements and investment activation methods, management structure, and governance structure by investigating ways to stimulate the industrialization of contents technology through the establishment and management of this IP holding company, and finally come up with a realistic measure to establish and manage a IP holding company. Strategies on commercialization of digital contents technology and acceleration of technology development, as well as activation of venture business set-ups will be analyzed and suggested based on such suggestions while IP holding company's digital contents technology investment activation model will be established to produce means to realize discovering superior contents companies and activation of investment, and activating high quality contents production for the global market.

  • This paper implements 2X2 MIMO Long Term Evolution (LTE) base station using Software defined radio (SDR) technology. The implemented base station system processes baseband signals on a Graphics Processor Unit(GPU). GPU is a high-speed parallel processor which provides very important advantage of using a very powerful C-based programming environment that is Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA). The implemented software-based base station system processes baseband signals through GPU. It utilizes USRP2 as its RF transceiver. In order to guarantee a real-time processing of LTE baseband signals, we have adopted well-known signal processing algorithms such as frame synchronization algorithms, ML detection, etc. using GPU operating in parallel processing.
