In this paper, multiview calibration system for an effective 3D display is proposed. This system can be obtain 4-view image from multiview camera system. Also it can be rectify lens and camera distortion, error of bright and color, and it can be calibrate distortion of geometry. In this paper, we proposed the signal processing skill to calibrate the camera distortions which are able to take place from the acquisited multiview images. The discordance of the brightness and the colors are calibrated the color transform by extracting the feature point, correspondence point. And the difference of brightness is calibrated by using the differential map of brightness from each camera image. A spherical lens distortion is corrected by extracting the pattern of the multiview camera images. Finally the camera error and size among the multiview cameras is calibrated by removing the distortion. Accordingly, this proposed rectification & calibration system enable to effective 3D display and acquire natural multiview 3D image.

Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion(OTEC) which uses the temperature difference between warm surface sea-water and cold deep sea-water to produce electric power is the promising technology. OTEC is able to be utilized as the $CO_2$ reducing technology by using the consistent temperature differential, while the system efficiency is very low. Thus, the design and development of a efficient turbine is essential to improve the system efficiency for OTEC. In this study, a 100kW-class radial inflow turbine using R32 was designed for OTEC and this turbine's performance was estimated by analysis of CFD. According as the simulation results, turbine's geometry was corrected. The radial inflow turbine satisfying the requirements is designed by the repeated attempts.
Blends of thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer(TLCP) with poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) were prepared by the coprecipitation from a common solvent. The blends were processed through a capillary die at $287^{\circ}C$ to produce a monofilament. Morphology and mechanical, thermal properties of blends and composites were examined by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), tensile test, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Crystallization kinetics of the blends were investigated by the isothermal DSC method. The Avrami analyses were applied to obtain the information on the crystal growth geometry and factors controlling the rate of crystallization. In the blends, liquid crystalline phase did not reveal any significant macrophase separation and thermal degradation at the processing temperature. From scanning electron micrographs of cryogenic fracture surfaces of extruded fibers, the TLCP domains were found to be more or less finely dispersed with $0.1{\mu}m$ to $0.2{\mu}m$ in size. Interfacial adhesion between the TLCP and matrix polymer was excellent. Tensile strength and modulus of TLCP/PET in-situ fiber composites were enhanced with increasing draw ratio and LCP content.
A plate type supporting structure of a tube bundle in axial flow generates a certain band of a high frequency periodic excitation of a vortex shedding and/or a flow separation due to sharp edge of the plate thickness and a severe pressure drop due to a cross-sectional area of the supports. With a design consideration of the low vibration and a small flow resistance, the analysis method is uniquely confined to an experimental approach because a complex geometry of a cylindrical tube bundle and/or physical phenomena related to the fluid-structure interaction of tube bundle in a flow impede a theoretical or a numerical approach. A 5x5 cylindrical tube bundle with 5 supports which were discretely located along the bundle's axis was tested in the FIVPET hydraulic test loop for a design evaluation and an analysis perspectives. A high frequency flow-induced vibration of the supporting structures of the cylindrical tube bundle was measured at a outer surface of a supporting structure through a transparent flow housing by the laser dopper vibrometer. Pressure drop in-between three measurement distances was measured by the differential pressure transmitter. High frequency vibration and pressure drop fairly depends on the geometric design of supporting structure. So, these two parameters would be used as a qualitative design variables for design evaluation and analysis.
In this study thermal characteristics of heat-responsive element considering conduction, convection and rate of change of element using Response Time Index (RTI) applied to sensitivity test of sprinkler head at home and aborad are theoretically investigated. Analytic solution of temperature distributions with radial direction and time is obtained form energy transport equations, non-homogeneous 2th order partial differential equation, applying to constant wall temperature and symmetric condition in order to analyze thermal characteristics of heat-responsive element for circular cylindrical geometry. Base on the results, the analytic method of this study is fundamental data to practical use for sensitivity test of sprinkler head and design of heat-responsive element.

Organic soils exhibit problematic properties such as high compressibility and low shear strength; these properties may cause differential settlement or failure in structures built on such soils. Organic soil removal or stabilization are the most important methods to overcome geotechnical problems related to peat soils' engineering characteristics. This paper presents soil mechanical intervention for stabilization of peat with sand columns and focuses on a comparison between the mechanical characteristics of undisturbed peat and peat stabilized with 20%, 30% and 40% of sand on the laboratory scale. Cylindrical columns were extruded in different diameters through a nearly undisturbed peat sample in the laboratory and filled with sand. By adding sand columns to peat, higher permeability, higher shear strength and a faster consolidation was achieved. The sample with 70% peat and 30% sand displayed the most reliable compressibility properties. This can be attributed to proper drainage provided by sand columns for peat in this specific percentage. It was observed that the granular texture of sand also increased the friction angle of peat. The addition of 30% sand led to the highest shear strength among all mixtures considered. The peat samples with 40% sand were sampled with two and three sand columns and tested in direct shear and consolidation tests to evaluate the influence of the number and geometry of sand columns. Samples with three sand columns showed higher compressibility and shear strength. Following the results of this laboratory study it appears that the introduction of sand columns could be suitable for geotechnical peat stabilization in the field scale.
Methods of Riemannian geometry has played an important role in the study of compact transformation groups. Every effective action of a compact Lie group on a differential manifold leaves a Riemannian metric invariant and the study of such actions reduces to the one involving the group of isometries of a Riemannian metric on the manifold which is, a priori, a Lie group under the compact open topology. Once an action of a compact Lie group is given an invariant metric is easily constructed by the averaging method and the Lie group is naturally imbedded in the group of isometries as a Lie subgroup. But usually this invariant metric has more symmetries than those given by the original action. Therefore the first question one may ask is when one can find a Riemannian metric so that the given action coincides with the action of the full group of isometries. This seems to be a difficult question to answer which depends very much on the orbit structure and the group itself. In this paper we give a sufficient condition that a subgroup action of a compact Lie group has an invariant metric which is not invariant under the full action of the group and figure out some aspects of the action and the orbit structure regarding the invariant Riemannian metric. In fact, according to our results, this is possible if there is a larger transformation group, containing the oringnal action and either having larger orbit somewhere or having exactly the same orbit structure but with an orbit on which a Riemannian metric is ivariant under the orginal action of the group and not under that of the larger one. Recently R. Saerens and W. Zame showed that every compact Lie group can be realized as the full group of isometries of Riemannian metric. [SZ] This answers a question closely related to ours but the situation turns out to be quite different in the two problems.
Lead-alloys are very attractive nuclear coolants due to their thermo-hydraulic, chemical, and neutronic properties. By utilizing the HELIOS (Heavy Eutectic liquid metal Loop for Integral test of Operability and Safety of PEACER$^2$) facility, a thermal hydraulic benchmarking study has been conducted for the prediction of pressure loss in lead-alloy cooled advanced nuclear energy systems (LACANES). The loop has several complex components that cannot be readily characterized with available pressure loss correlations. Among these components is the core, composed of a vessel, a barrel, heaters separated by complex spacers, and the plenum. Due to the complex shape of the core, its pressure loss is comparable to that of the rest of the loop. Detailed CFD simulations employing different CFD codes are used to determine the pressure loss, and it is found that the spacers contribute to nearly 90 percent of the total pressure loss. In the system codes, spacers are usually accounted for; however, due to the lack of correlations for the exact spacer geometry, the accuracy of models relies strongly on assumptions used for modeling spacers. CFD can be used to determine an appropriate correlation. However, application of CFD also requires careful choice of turbulence models and numerical meshes, which are selected based on extensive experience with liquid metal flow simulations for the KALLA lab. In this paper consistent results of CFX and Star-CD are obtained and compared to measured data. Measured data of the pressure loss of the core are obtained with a differential pressure transducer located between the core inlet and outlet at a flow rate of 13.57kg/s.
In this paper, the effect of deepness on in-plane free vibration behavior of a curved functionally graded (FG) nanobeam based on nonlocal elasticity theory has been investigated. Differential equations and boundary conditions have been developed based on Hamilton's principle. In order to figure out the size effect, nonlocal theory has been adopted. Properties of material vary in radial direction. By using Navier solution technique, the amount of natural frequencies has been obtained. Also, to take into account the deepness effect on vibrations, thickness to radius ratio has been considered. Differences percentage between results of cases in which deepness effect is included and excluded are obtained and influences of power-law exponent, nonlocal parameter and arc angle on these differences percentage are studied. Results show that arc angle and power law exponent parameters have the most influences on the amount of the differences percentage due to deepness effect. It has been observed that the inclusion of geometrical deep term and material distribution results in an increase in sensitivity of dimensionless natural frequency about variation of aforementioned parameters and a change in variation range of natural frequency. Finally, several numerical results of deep and shallow curved functionally graded nanobeams with different geometry dimensions are presented, which may serve as benchmark solutions for the future research in this field.
It is difficult to predict the magnitude of a rockfall with respect to the shape, volume, and weight of the rock mass, as a rockfall exhibits erratic behavior that depends on the slope geometry, such as the height and dip of the slope. In this study, a field survey was conducted on the slopes of Ulleung-Do, South Korea, where rockfalls frequently occur along coastal roads, to classify the mode of rockfalls and estimate their magnitude. This study also analyzed the effects of rockfall behavior on roads by applying a simulation technique. Agglomerate and trachytic rocks distributed across the study area produce rockfalls in a differential weathering rockfall mode and a toppling rockfall mode. In terms of rockfall weight, trachytic rockfalls were 2-3 times heavier than agglomerate rockfalls. An analysis of rockfall behavior from the simulation indicates that the impact energy on the road exceeded the absorbing energy of a standard rockfall protection fence; however, the rockfall was secured when a ring-net was applied.
