돌산 갓의 부위별 생리활성 작용의 비교 (Comparison of Physiological Activity in Different Parts of Dolsan Leaf Mustard)

  • 성장 시기에 따른 돌산 갓의 부위별 즙액 첨가에 의한 생리기능성을 연구하였다. 생리기증성을 평가하기 위하여 돌산갓을 분쇄하여 여과하고 원심 분리하여 얻은 상등액을 여과하여 시료로 사용하였다. 세포독성 평가를 위한 돌산 갓 즙액의 농도는 1%, 3%, 6% 로 조제하여 간암세포에 첨가하였다. 세포독성은 갓 즙액 6% 첨가 시에 성장기간이 20일인갓의 개량종 뿌리에서 78.2%로 가장 높게 나타났다. DPPH 방법에 의한 항산화 활성 평가에서는 20일 자란 재래종 잎이 80.4%로서 가장 높게 나타났다. ACE 저해 활성으로는 60일 자란갓에서는 개량종 잎이 94.0%로서 가장 ACE 저해율이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 돌산 갓의 부위별 첨가에 의한 생리기능성 평가에서 재래종과 개량종 사이에 큰차이를 발견할 수는 없었으나 부위별로 항암성은 뿌리에서 항산화성과 ACE 저해율은 잎에서 비교적 활성이 높게 나타났다.

Biological Properties of Different Types and Parts of the Dandelions: Comparisons of Anti-Oxidative, Immune Cell Proliferative and Tumor Cell Growth Inhibitory Activities

  • Dandelions have been reported to have medicinal properties and bioactive components that impact human health. However, the precise biological properties of dandelions and the parts of the plants possessing bioactive components remain uncertain. In this study, we evaluated 3 different types of dandelions based on their cultivation origin (Songpa, Uiryung, and native Uiryung types) as well as their 4 different plant parts (leaf, flower, root, skin). Each sample was extracted with $80\%$ methanol and then compared for the biological activities (anti-oxidative, immune cell proliferative and tumor cell growth inhibitory activities). All 3 types of dandelions possessed a degree of biological functions including the hydroxyl radical scavenger activity, immune cell proliferative activity and tumor cell growth inhibitory activity. However, there was no significant difference in these activities between the 3 dandelion types. Leaves of all three dandelion types showed the highest levels of all biological activities. To a lesser degree, the flower and root parts displayed biological activities. In the skin parts, anti-oxidative activity was also detected only at higher doses of dandelion extracts. Heating the dandelion leaf extract did not affect the biological activity, suggesting a heat-stable nature of the biological compounds. Taken together, these collective data suggest that dandelions, in particular their leaves, possess a high concentration of heat-resistant biological compounds, which are responsible for anti-oxidative, immune cell proliferative and tumor cell growth-inhibitory activities.

  • Forged aluminum lower arm has been developed to provide weight reduction of suspension parts. It was utilized FEM analysis in design of parts. Prototype parts were producted to two shape & different forging condition. Difference of forging condition was manufacturing process of stock, forging press, forging die, heat treatment condition. As a result, weight reduction of 44%, 38% was achived. Strength and fatigue endurance of forged aluminum lower arm was excellent.

한국산 재배종 감자의 기관, 품종, 부위, 중량별 Glycoalkaloid의 변화 (Glycoalkaloid Content in Korean Cultivated Potato Plant and Tubers by Organ, Variety, Part and Weight)

  • The concentration of potato(Solanum tuberosum L.) glycoalkaloids(PCA) (i.e., ${\alpha}$-chaconine and ${\alpha}$-solanine) in Korean cultivated potato plant, and in the different varieties, parts and weights of the potato tubers, were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). The highest concentrations of PGA in potato plants were found in the roots, followed by the stems and leaves. A large quantity of PGA existed in the periderm of 'Atlantic' potatoes, whereas 'Irish Cobbler' contained the lowest amount in five cultivated potato tubers.'Irish Cobbler' potatoes were divided into three parts and the PGA content in each part was determined. It was found that both of the end parts of the potatoes contained higher PGA than the middle part. The PGA contents in four different sizes of potatoes increased toward the smaller size. Thesignificantly high level of PGA was contained in the smallest size potato tubers, which have been used widely for Korean cooking.

Antioxidant Activities of Different Parts of Synurus deltoids Nakai Extracts in Vitro

  • The antioxidant activity of hot water extracts of various parts, the leaf, stem, and root of Synurus deltoides was evaluated by various antioxidant assays, including total phenolic content, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, hydroxyl radical (${\cdot}OH$) scavenging, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and xanthine oxidase (XOI) activities. The various antioxidant activities were compared with the standard antioxidants such as L-ascorbic acid, $\alpha$-tocopherol, and butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA). Among the different plant parts, stem has been found to possess the highest activity in all tested model systems, the activity decreased in the order stems>roots>leaves. These results indicate that stem extract could be used as potential source of natural antioxidant.

서양금혼초 부위별 추출물의 티로신에이즈, α-글루코시다아제 저해활성 및 항산화효과 (Tyrosinase and α-Glucosidase Inhibitory Activities and Antioxidant Effects of Extracts from Different Parts of Hypochaeris radicata)

  • Background: Invasion of these invasive plants in the ecosystem threatens the habitat of endemic species, reduces biodiversity, and causes a disturbance in the ecological system. Hypochaeris radicata L. (Asteraceae), the most invasive plant in Korea, particularly in Jeju Island, invades farmlands, and autochthonous forests, resulting in the establishment of monocultures and modification of the ecosystem structure. Methods and Results: In this study was, we evaluated the biological activity of 70% ethanolic extracts from different parts of Hypochaeris radicata L. The biological activities of 70% ethanolic extracts of different parts, such as flower, leaf, stem, and root, of H. radicata were investigated. The total polyphenol content was highest in flower extracts ($50.82{\pm}3.16mg{\cdot}QE/g$). In addition, the highest flavonoid content was observed in flower extract ($15.19{\pm}2.03mg{\cdot}QE/g$). The flower extract of H. radicata exhibited stronger DPPH radical-scavenging activities, ABTS radical scavenging activities, and reducing power than the other parts. The flower extract of H. radicata was observed to have the highest tyrosinase and ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ inhibitory activities. Conclusions: The flower extracts of H. radicata exhibited remarkable antioxidant activity as well as tyrosinase and ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ inhibitory effects. These activities might be related to the phenolic compounds present in the H. radicata flower extract.

남자 운동선수의 기성복 재킷의 맞음새와 만족도 연구 (A Study on Fitness and Satisfaction of Ready-made Jackets for College Sportsmen)

  • Jacket is popular ready-made garment among college students in their early 20s. However, ready-made jackets, which are designed to fit normal people, are not likely to fit sportsmen well who have highly developed muscles in particular parts of their bodies. And muscle development is quite different among sportsmen according to the types of sports and bodily movements. Therefore, ready-made jackets can not be expected to fit sportsmen well as they fit normal people who have different shapes of bodies from sportsmen. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of fitness and comfortableness of jackets for sportsmen in their early 20s according to the types of sports to provide basic data for designing suitable garments for them. Research method, 362 college sportsmen in their early 20s were surveyed from June 2nd 2009 to June 9th 2009, and 360 of them were processed statistically, with 2 of them having been discarded for lack of sincerity. Among Taekwondo players, Arm Length was the most complained part, among wrestlers, Biacromion Length was the most complained part, among fencers, 'Waist Circumference' was the most complained part, among swimmers, Biacromion Length was the most complained part, among apparatus gymnast, 'Hip Circumference' was the most complained part, among track athletes and handball players, more than 20% answered that the jackets did not fit them in every parts. It was understood that different sportsmen complained of particular parts of the jackets and that parts of the jacket should be adjusted according to bodily shapes of different sportsmen. This study was made to investigate the factors to be considered in producing ready-made jackets for college sportsmen. It is hoped that more patterns will be developed on the basis of the original form of jacket and the result of this study.

경색도별(莖色度別) 고려임삼근(高麗人蔘根)의 사포닌 양상(樣相) (Saponin pattern of Panax ginseng root in relation to stem color)

  • 고려인삼근(자경종)(高麗人蔘根(紫莖種))의 중심부(형성층내부)(中心部(形成層內部))와 외피십피층(外皮十皮層)에 있는 ginsenoside를 고속액 체크로마토그라피로 분석(分析)하고 경(莖)의 자색정도(紫色程度)와의 관계(關係)를 검토(檢討)하였다. Ginsenoside의 단순상관(單純相關)에 의(依)한 saponin 양상(樣相)의 유사도(類似度)를 경색도군간(莖色度群間) 같은 뿌리 또는 다른 뿌리간(間)에 두부위(部位)에서 비교(比較)한 결과(結果) 경색도(莖色度)는 saponin 양상(樣相)과 관련(關聯)되지 않는 것으로 보였다. Saponin 양상(樣相)은 부위(部位)의 출처(出處)에 관계(關係)없이 서도 다른 부위간(部位間)에 약간 달랐다. 각(各) ginsenoside 함량순위(含量順位)는 표피십피층(表皮十皮層)에서 $Rg_1>Re>Rb_1>Rb_2>Rc>Rg_2{\geq}Rd>Rf$이고 중심부(中心部)에서는 $Rg_1>Re{\geq}Rg_2{\geq}Rb_1{\gg}Rb_2>Rc{\geq}Rd>Rf$였다.

오미자의 부위에 따른 지방산 조성과 항산화 활성에 관한 연구 (The Studies of Composition of Fatty Acids and Antioxidant Activities in Parts of Omija (Schizandra chinensis Baillon))

  • We have studies fatty acid composition of water extracts of parts of omija (Schizandra chinensis Baillon) and antioxidant activities of fractionated omija parts (fruits, endocarps, seeds) were determined by DPPH methods and by in vitro hepatic microsomal lipid peroxidation system. Fatty acid composition was not different by parts of omija and major fatty acids are linoleic, oleic, and palimitic acids, among fatty acids is water extracts of parts of omija, linoleic acid was highest in content. Methanol and buthanol fractions of seeds and ethyl acetate fraction of endocarps showed stronger antioxidant activities by DPPH methods. Methanol and buthanol fractions of seeds also showed on inhibitory effect on in vitro liver microsomal lipid peroxidation.

A Survey of Machine Translation and Parts of Speech Tagging for Indian Languages

  • Commenced in 1954 by IBM, machine translation has expanded immensely, particularly in this period. Machine translation can be broken into seven main steps namely- token generation, analyzing morphology, lexeme, tagging Part of Speech, chunking, parsing, and disambiguation in words. Morphological analysis plays a major role when translating Indian languages to develop accurate parts of speech taggers and word sense. The paper presents various machine translation methods used by different researchers for Indian languages along with their performance and drawbacks. Further, the paper concentrates on parts of speech (POS) tagging in Marathi dialect using various methods such as rule-based tagging, unigram, bigram, and more. After careful study, it is concluded that for machine translation, parts of speech tagging is a major step. Also, for the Marathi language, the Hidden Markov Model gives the best results for parts of speech tagging with an accuracy of 93% which can be further improved according to the dataset.
