이중사출의 접합성 개선 및 생산성향상을 위한 금형구조 개발기술연구 (A technical study on mold construction development for junction improvement and productivity improvement of Double-Injection molding)

  • Double-injection molding can inject two different materials or two colors in the same mold and process. If this injection process use, product has ability because the base part maintain strength and specified part can inject soft-material. It makes the cost down by single operation automatically for saving wages. In this paper, we designed double-injection mold for automobile remote control to inject secondary using this part as insert after inject external appearance of product. CAE analysis was progressed gate location and runner size as variable and analysis result is reflected in mold design process. As a result, it could solved badness that is generated at the conventional mold. Additionally, cost is downed by reducing loss of runner as well as could omit painting process because surface of finished product is improved through new mold.

사출성형에서 공정 중 금형의 진동 크기 변화를 활용한 냉각시간 모니터링에 대한 연구 (A study on the monitoring of cooling time using the change in the magnitude of mold vibration in injection molding)

  • In this study, during the injection molding process, a device was manufactured and evaluated that calculates a cooling time by measuring a vibration signal generated from a mold using an acceleration. The last two parts, one of which has a large magnitude change in the measured vibration signal of a mold, were divided into a cooling start section (paking end section) and a mold opening section, and the time difference at the relevant points was calculated as the cooling time. The cooling time was monitored on a 5-inch light guide plate mold by applying the method. The manufactured device was attached to a fixed base of mold to measure the cooling time, and data was obtained remotely using Bluetooth technology. Then, the measured cooling time was compared with the cooling time set in the injection molding machine to evaluate the accuracy. As a result of the experiment, the cooling times measured by the devices were 15.675±0.024 sec, 20.637±0.014 sec and 25.623±0.079 sec of each conditions. Also, the measurement results were shown with errors of 0.655±0.044 sec, 0.637±0.014 sec, and 0.662±0.013 sec, respectively.

  • This paper suggests the selective ultra precision polishing techniques for micro die and mold parts using magnetic-assisted machining. Fabrication of magnetic abrasive particle and their polishing performance are key technology at ultra precision polishing process of micro parts. Conventional magnetic abrasives have disadvantages. which are missing of abrasive particle and inequality between magnetic particle and abrasive particle. So, bonded magnetic abrasive particles are fabricated by several method. For example, plasma melting and direct bonding. Ferrite and carbonyl iron powder are used as magnetic particle where silicon carbide and Al$_2$O$_3$ are abrasive particle. Developed particles are analyzed using measurement device such as SEM. Possibility of magnetic abrasive and polishing performance of this magnetic abrasive particles also have been investigated. After polishing, surface roughness of workpiece is reduced from 2.927 $\mu\textrm{m}$ Rmax to 0.453 $\mu\textrm{m}$ Rmax.

  • The polishing tool unit is developed which can be attached on the machining center and automatic polishing system for die and mold is also established. So, experiments are carried out under the several polishing conditions. The polishing properties of automatic polishing operation such as surface roughness, stock removal and maximum profile valley depth are obtained and analyzed quantitatively for each polishing tool. The purpose of this study is to construct an expert system for optimal condition of die and mold automatic polishing using the knowledge base that is obtained in the polishing experiments and, to verify the feasibility of the expert system through the experiments. Using this expert system, unskilled operators will be able to obtain the knowledge and experience of an expert.

  • Vibrational film has been more employed in ear-phones or small type of speakers along with a wide use of portable multi-media equipments such as MP3 and MP4. However, the current hand work production process of diaphragms is inefficient. In this study, a die-and-mold and a single production forming machine are developed, and they result in a multi-production forming machine. The multi-production forming machine consists primarily of a film feeding unit and an unwinding unit. A vacuum suction device provides the film feeding unit, while the unwinding unit is obtained using an appropriate damper. The advantage of the developed single production forming machine is shown according to a proper voice test.

사출금형의 급속냉각시스템 개발 (Development of Rapid Cooling System for Injection Mold)

  • The Injection molding is used more than 70% of total production in plastic products. The injection molding process has 4 processes such as filling, packing, cooling and ejecting. It spends most of times in the cooling process. Therefore, it is important to control the mold temperature in producing plastic products. The cooling system and time affect the product's quality and productivity. Especially, cooling time has about 60% of total injection cycle time. Therefore, we can improve a productivity by shortening cooling time. In this study, the rapid cooling system was developed and performed a efficiency test. This system could refrigerate coolant to $1^{\circ}C$ and had to need 10 minutes for normal operating. However, if response time of temperature controller and sensor will be increased, the performance of this system will increase.

  • Inner part is used as an insulator in wire fuses. After injection molding, inner part has been showed flashes, filling defects and deformation. After production, operators have to cut off flashes, one by one. this process leads to continuous low productivity and loss of source materials. This study focuses on identifying the causes for flashes, filling defects, clamping force of injectors, mold adhesion, resin of liquidity and others, and on resolving those issues.

  • Automated polishing apparatus based on the research have been developed. The research is improvement of polishing process for surface quality and uniformity improvement of preform injection mold core. Surface quality of preform core have influence on ejecting and product quality after injection molding. Thus, the current being made by hand to automate the polishing process, the surface of the preform to improve the quality and uniformity improvement. First made a division by analyzing manual process a step-by-step. And draw a mechanism for converting mechanical movement. Automated polishing apparatus for preform core was developed, through which shortens production time and were able to secure the safety of the worker.

  • Although polishing process take 30-50% of whole process of manufacturing die and mold it has not been fully automat-ed yet. Considering current trend of manufacturing it is necessary to study on polishing automation. To accomplish automation reliable database must be developed. For developing it polishing mechanism should be defined and a general empirical formula that can be applied widely should be created. In this paper it is found that polishing process must be separated into 2 process such as removing cusp and getting fine surface process and the polishing parameter which is com-posed of major machining parameters and normalization of data can be applied efficiently in making reliable database.

  • An advanced expert system for supporting automatic polishing operation of mold and die has been developed. The goal of this system is to minimize the polishing time, the number of polishing and tools used. Also, this paper proposes the advanced concept of the polishing method to perform polishing operation of mold and die, and it has adapted to the orthogonal array method. as a statistical technique, to choose an optimal polishing condition. An expert system consists of the polishing machining database that includes the information of workpiece and polishing tools, and the input/output module.
