  • In this study, we apply the discovery method in the instruction of Permutation and Combination, and examine the effect upon the student's emotion after the instruction change. The research progressed through the instruction by the discovery method for two students of highschool Y. This research has been done for about one and half year from November 2006 to February 2008. We draw our research results through a series of processes consisted of videotaping a classroom activities, recording interview details and writing an observation diary, with the aim of the experimental instruction. In the end, we get to the conclusion that students showed a strong positive attitude on the discovery instructional method and that diverse discovery method has supplementary relation in classwork.

It uses time diary for a nationally representative sample of Koreans(10 years old over) collected in 2004 by KNSO. This time use surveys provide information about a primary activity and a secondary activity (that is simultaneous activity accompanying the primary activity). The results was that married women experience less of leisure time and more contaminated leisure time by a secondary activity(especially household labor) than married men. This research presents that men and women have different quantity and quality of leisure time, and gender discrepancies persist in the experience of leisure time.

  • Background: Low electrical impedance at acupoints is a familiar concept, and it has also been found that this increases with poor organ function. Kovich hypothesizes that organ states are communicated to their related acupoints in real time, and this experiment set out to test this. Methods: The electrical impedance at 4 digestion-related acupuncture points (acupoints) was recorded over a 14-hour period and a food diary was recorded. The readings were taken in 23 sessions, between which the participant continued his usual daily routine. Results: The impedance at all the monitored acupoints varied considerably throughout the day, and the peaks were aligned with periods of high stomach activity. Conclusion: Variations in stomach function produced corresponding variations in the impedance at key stomach-related acupoints. However, the experiment was limited in that samples were only taken at around 30-minute intervals, and further investigations are needed to explore this phenomenon in more detail.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate English teachers' perceptions about doing their own action research to find out the benefits of involvement in action research. I believe that teachers should engage in curriculum research and development because it relates to their own classrooms and because a primary aim for teacher education program is to give teachers ways of exploring their own classrooms. I focused on 17 graduate students who had undertaken action research during the fall semester of 2007 and administered a questionnaire about their perceptions of doing action research. The results revealed that their perceptions of doing action research fell into the following two categories, positive and negative aspects. For positive aspects, they experienced a sense of personal and professional growth and they underwent identity transformation from passive, etic-oriented, and uncritical to active, emic-oriented, and critical teachers. However, many of them expressed that major obstacles to doing action research were time constraints and lack of skills or training in conducting action research. Thus, it is suggested that both pre- and in-service teachers should consider conducting a language teaching diary study, doing collaborative action research, and acquiring all the necessary skills for conducting action research.

The resets are as follows. 1. About seventy eight percent of the responded students own relatively high-priced goods such as brand-name jeans (59.1%), a mobile phone (31.9%), perfume with a price of 50,000 won or more (26.5%), CD Player (24.4%) or electronic pocket diary (17.1%). The percentage varies according to region. 2. The Adolescents tendency for conspicuous consumption is reflected by 2.92 points out of a total 5 points, while their mothers'marks 2.18 points. By region, conspicuous consumption behavior is more common in Seoul than in other small and medium-sized cities and towns. Also, the more mother attribute children's behavior internally, the lower the childeren's competence is.
