Increasing the operation rate of components and stabilizing the operation through timely management of the core parts are crucial for improving the efficiency of the railroad maintenance industry. The demand for diagnosis technology to assess the condition of rolling stock components, which employs history management and automated big data analysis, has increased to satisfy both aspects of increasing reliability and reducing the maintenance cost of the core components to cope with the trend of rapid maintenance. This study developed a big data platform-based system to manage the rolling stock component condition to acquire, process, and analyze the big data generated at onboard and wayside devices of railroad cars in real time. The system can monitor the conditions of the railroad car component and system resources in real time. The study also proposed a machine learning technique that enabled the distributed and parallel processing of the acquired big data and automatic component fault diagnosis. The test, which used the virtual instance generation system of the Amazon Web Service, proved that the algorithm applying the distributed and parallel technology decreased the runtime and confirmed the fault diagnosis model utilizing the random forest machine learning for predicting the condition of the bearing and wheel parts with 83% accuracy.

Classification systems can significantly assist the medical sector by allowing for the precise and quick diagnosis of diseases. As a result, both doctors and patients will save time. A possible way for identifying risk variables is to use machine learning algorithms. Non-surgical technologies, such as machine learning, are trustworthy and effective in categorizing healthy and heart-disease patients, and they save time and effort. The goal of this study is to create a medical intelligent decision support system based on machine learning for the diagnosis of heart disease. We have used a mixed feature creation (MFC) technique to generate new features from the UCI Cleveland Cardiology dataset. We select the most suitable features by using Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO), Recursive Feature Elimination with Random Forest feature selection (RFE-RF) and the best features of both LASSO RFE-RF (BLR) techniques. Cross-validated and grid-search methods are used to optimize the parameters of the estimator used in applying these algorithms. and classifier performance assessment metrics including classification accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, precision, and F1-Score, of each classification model, along with execution time and RMSE the results are presented independently for comparison. Our proposed work finds the best potential outcome across all available prediction models and improves the system's performance, allowing physicians to diagnose heart patients more accurately.
Cardiomegaly is one of the most common diseases seen on chest X-rays, but if it is not detected early, it can cause serious complications. In view of this, in recent years, many researches on image analysis in which deep learning algorithms using artificial intelligence are applied to medical care have been conducted with the development of various science and technology fields. In this paper, we would like to evaluate whether the Inception V3 deep learning model is a useful model for the classification of Cardiomegaly using chest X-ray images. For the images used, a total of 1026 chest X-ray images of patients diagnosed with normal heart and those diagnosed with Cardiomegaly in Kyungpook National University Hospital were used. As a result of the experiment, the classification accuracy and loss of the Inception V3 deep learning model according to the presence or absence of Cardiomegaly were 96.0% and 0.22%, respectively. From the research results, it was found that the Inception V3 deep learning model is an excellent deep learning model for feature extraction and classification of chest image data. The Inception V3 deep learning model is considered to be a useful deep learning model for classification of chest diseases, and if such excellent research results are obtained by conducting research using a little more variety of medical image data, I think it will be great help for doctor's diagnosis in future.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of deep neural network model in order to determine whether there is a risk factor for coronary artery disease based on the cardiac variation parameter. The study used unidentifiable 297 data to evaluate the performance of the model. Input data consists of heart rate parameters, which are SDNN (standard deviation of the N-N intervals), PSI (physical stress index), TP (total power), VLF (very low frequency), LF (low frequency), HF (high frequency), RMSSD (root mean square of successive difference) APEN (approximate entropy) and SRD (successive R-R interval difference), the age group and sex. Output data are divided into normal and patient groups, and the patient group consists of those diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, and hyperlipidemia among the various risk factors that can cause coronary artery disease. Based on this, a binary classification model was applied using Deep Neural Network of deep learning techniques to classify normal and patient groups efficiently. To evaluate the effectiveness of the model used in this study, Kernel SVM (support vector machine), one of the classification models in machine learning, was compared and evaluated using same data. The results showed that the accuracy of the proposed deep neural network was train set 91.79% and test set 85.56% and the specificity was 87.04% and the sensitivity was 83.33% from the point of diagnosis. These results suggest that deep learning is more efficient when classifying these medical data because the train set accuracy in the deep neural network was 7.73% higher than the comparative model Kernel SVM.
This paper applies an expert independent unsupervised neural network learning-based multivariate time series data analysis model, MSCRED(Multi-Scale Convolutional Recurrent Encoder-Decoder), and to overcome the limitation, because the MCRED is based on Auto-encoder model, that train data must not to be contaminated, by using learning data sampling technique, called Subset Sampling Validation. By using the vibration data of power plant equipment that has been labeled, the classification performance of MSCRED is evaluated with the Anomaly Score in many cases, 1) the abnormal data is mixed with the training data 2) when the abnormal data is removed from the training data in case 1. Through this, this paper presents an expert-independent anomaly diagnosis framework that is strong against error data, and presents a concise and accurate solution in various fields of multivariate time series data.
Purpose: The aims of this study were to create a deep learning model to distinguish between nasopalatine duct cysts (NDCs), radicular cysts, and no-lesions (normal) in the midline region of the anterior maxilla on panoramic radiographs and to compare its performance with that of dental residents. Materials and Methods: One hundred patients with a confirmed diagnosis of NDC (53 men, 47 women; average age, 44.6±16.5 years), 100 with radicular cysts (49 men, 51 women; average age, 47.5±16.4 years), and 100 with normal groups (56 men, 44 women; average age, 34.4±14.6 years) were enrolled in this study. Cases were randomly assigned to the training datasets (80%) and the test dataset (20%). Then, 20% of the training data were randomly assigned as validation data. A learning model was created using a customized DetectNet built in Digits version 5.0 (NVIDIA, Santa Clara, USA). The performance of the deep learning system was assessed and compared with that of two dental residents. Results: The performance of the deep learning system was superior to that of the dental residents except for the recall of radicular cysts. The areas under the curve (AUCs) for NDCs and radicular cysts in the deep learning system were significantly higher than those of the dental residents. The results for the dental residents revealed a significant difference in AUC between NDCs and normal groups. Conclusion: This study showed superior performance in detecting NDCs and radicular cysts and in distinguishing between these lesions and normal groups.

Feature selection is the one of important issue in the field of data mining and machine learning. It is the technique to find a subset of features which provides the best classification performance, from the source data. We propose a feature subset selection method using the neighborhood rough set model based on information granularity. To demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method, it was applied to select the useful features associated with breast tumor diagnosis of 298 shape features extracted from 5,252 breast ultrasound images, which include 2,745 benign and 2,507 malignant cases. Experimental results showed that 19 diagnostic features were strong predictors of breast cancer diagnosis and then average classification accuracy was 97.6%.
Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) refers to acute bleeding inside the intracranial vault. Not only does this devastating disease record a very high mortality rate, but it can also cause serious chronic impairment of sensory, motor, and cognitive functions. Therefore, a prompt and professional diagnosis of the disease is highly critical. Noninvasive brain imaging data are essential for clinicians to efficiently diagnose the locus of brain lesion, volume of bleeding, and subsequent cortical damage, and to take clinical interventions. In particular, computed tomography (CT) images are used most often for the diagnosis of ICH. In order to diagnose ICH through CT images, not only medical specialists with a sufficient number of diagnosis experiences are required, but even when this condition is met, there are many cases where bleeding cannot be successfully detected due to factors such as low signal ratio and artifacts of the image itself. In addition, discrepancies between interpretations or even misinterpretations might exist causing critical clinical consequences. To resolve these clinical problems, we developed a diagnostic model predicting intracranial bleeding and its subtypes (intraparenchymal, intraventricular, subarachnoid, subdural, and epidural) by applying deep learning algorithms to CT images. We also constructed a visualization tool highlighting important regions in a CT image for predicting ICH. Specifically, 1) 27,758 CT brain images from RSNA were pre-processed to minimize the computational load. 2) Three different CNN-based models (ResNet, EfficientNet-B2, and EfficientNet-B7) were trained based on a training image data set. 3) Diagnosis performance of each of the three models was evaluated based on an independent test image data set: As a result of the model comparison, EfficientNet-B7's performance (classification accuracy = 91%) was a way greater than the other models. 4) Finally, based on the result of EfficientNet-B7, we visualized the lesions of internal bleeding using the Grad-CAM. Our research suggests that artificial intelligence-based diagnostic systems can help diagnose and treat brain diseases resolving various problems in clinical situations.

Diagnosis of diseases using gene expression data obtained from microarray chip is an active research area recently. It has been done by general machine learning algorithms, because it is difficult to analyze directly. However, recent research results about the analysis based on the interaction between genes is essential for the gene expression analysis, which means the analysis using the traditional machine learning algorithms has limitations. In this paper, we classify the gene expression data using the hyper-network model that considers the higher-order correlations between the features, and then compares the classification accuracies. And also, we present the new hypo-network model that improve the disadvantage of existing model, and compare the processing performances of the existing hypo-network model based on general sequential processor and the improved hypo-network model implemented on parallel processors. In the experimental results, we show that the performance of our model shows improved and competitive classification performance than traditional machine learning methods, as well as, the existing hypo-network model. We show that the performance is maximized when the hypernetwork model is implemented on our parallel processors.

In the field of artificial intelligence education, discussions on the direction of artificial intelligence education are actively underway, and it is necessary to establish a foundation for future information education. It is necessary to design a creative convergence teaching-learning and evaluation method. Although AI experience coding education has been applied, the evaluation stage is insufficient. In this paper, we propose an evaluation system that can verify the validity of the proposed education model to find a way to supplement the existing learning module. The core components of this proposed system are Assessment-Factor, Self-Diagnosis, Item Bank, and Evaluation Result modules, which are designed to enable system access according to the roles of administrator, instructors and learners. This system enables individualized learning through online and offline connection.
