폐플라스틱의 수거 및 재활용 현황 (Current Status of Collection and Recycling of Used Plastics)

  • 플라스틱 제품은 열가소성과 열경화성 플라스틱으로 나눌 수 있으며 이들은 일상생활용기를 비롯해 농, 수산업, 전기전자, 정보, 의료, 스포츠, 건설 및 항공산업에까지 광범위하게 사용되고 있어 폐기물의 발생원도 매우 다양하다. 플라스틱 제품의 원자재인 합성수지의 1995년도 생산량은 627만톤에 이르고 필름류, 파이프류, 용기류, 건축자재류, 잡화류 등 다양한 용도에 사용되고 있는 플라스틱 제품의 국내 수요량은 347만톤(1994년)으로 1인당 사용량은 약 78kg에 달하고 있다. 이들 플라스틱 제품의 수명은 비닐봉투와 같은 1회용품에서부터 선풍기, 전화기, 가전제품과 같이 3~7년 정도인 것들까지 다양하며 95년에는 약 2,832천톤이 발생하였으며 재활용율은 약 16% 정도에 불과하다. 폐플라스틱의 재활용은 한국자원재생공사를 비롯하여 여러단체에서 제품별로 재활용하고 있으며 재생원료로 사용하는 방법이 주로 이용되고 있으나 소각에 의한 에너지 회수방법이 주목을 받고 있다. 폐플라스틱 처리는 1993년 "자원의 절약과 재활용촉진에 관한 법률"에 의거하여 이루어지고 있으며 96년에 고시된 "합성수지 재질 포장재의 감량화 지침"에 따라 폐플라스틱의 재활용이 촉진될 것으로 기대되고 있다.활용이 촉진될 것으로 기대되고 있다.

  • 안드로이드의 소스 코드는 공개되어 있어 목적에 따라 수정이 용이하다. 최근 이런 점을 악용하여 런타임 보호 기법을 우회하는 원본 실행 코드 탈취 기법이 등장하였다. 불행하게도, 안드로이드 디바이스는 파편화가 심해 시스템의 무결성을 검증하기가 어렵다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 어플리케이션 권한의 특징을 이용하여 간접적으로 실행 환경의 무결성을 검증하는 기법을 제안한다. 우리의 기법은 원본 실행 코드를 실행하기 전 더미 실행 코드를 로드 및 실행하여 비정상적인 이벤트를 모니터링하며, 이를 통해 무결성 여부를 판단한다. 우리의 기법은 현재까지 공개된 우회 기법을 탐지할 수 있으며, 평균적으로 약 2초 내외의 성능 오버헤드를 가진다.

How Much Do We Understand the Properties of Supernova Remnants in M81 and M82?

  • We present an optical spectroscopic study of 28 supernova remnant (SNR) candidates in M81 and two SNR candidates in M82. The optical spectra of these SNR candidates were obtained using the MMT/Hectospec as a part of the K-GMT Science Program. Based on the [S II]/$H{\alpha}$ ratio and the radial velocity, we find that twenty six out of the M81 candidates are genuine SNRs. Two SNR candidates in M82 are thought to be shocked condensations in the galactic outflow or SNRs. In the spectral line ratio diagrams, M81 SNRs are divided into two groups: an [O III]-strong group and an [O III]-weak group. The [O III]-weak SNRs have larger sizes, and may have faster shock velocity. We estimate the nitrogen and oxygen abundance of the SNRs from the comparison with shock-ionization models. We find a radial gradient in nitrogen abundance, $dLog(N/H)/dlogR=-0.023{\pm}0.009\;dex\;kpc^{-1}$ little evidence for the gradient in oxygen abundance. The nitrogen abundance shows shallower gradient than those of the planetary nebulae and H II regions of M81. We find five X-ray emitting SNRs. Their X-ray hardness colors are consistent with thermal SNRs.

  • 안드로이드 환경에서 악의적인 역공학으로부터 APK(Android application PacKage)를 보호하기 위해 다양한 난독화 도구가 이용되고 있다. 그러나 이런 난독화 도구는 악의적인 공격자에 의해 악용될 수 있으며, 실제로 많은 공격자들이 안티 바이러스 등에 의한 탐지를 우회하기 위해 악성 APK를 난독화하고 있다. 난독화된 악성 APK는 역난독화가 되지 않으면 그 기능성을 분석하는 것이 어렵기 때문에, 난독화된 악성 APK에 대응하기 위해서는 역난독화 방안이 반드시 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 상용 난독화 도구로 난독화된 APK를 분석하고, 적용된 난독화 기법을 정적으로 식별하고 역난독화할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 또한 이를 기반으로 난독화 옵션 식별 및 역난독화가 가능한 자동화된 도구를 구현하여 검증한 결과를 제시한다.

BAT AGN Spectroscopic Survey-III. An observed link between AGN Eddington ratio and narrow emission line ratios

  • The ultra hard X-ray band (14-195 keV) provides an important and unbiased way to understand black hole growth and relationship to the host galaxy. The Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) instrument on the Swift satellite has surveyed sky to unprecedented sensitivity, improving the number of known hard X-ray sources by more than a factor of 20 to 836 nearby AGN. The BAT AGN Spectroscopic Survey (BASS) is a study for the first large (N>600) and complete sample of ultra hard X-ray selected AGN with optical spectroscopy. In this talk, I present the observed relationship between black hole mass, bolometric luminosity, and Eddington ratio with optical emission line ratios. We show that [NII]/Ha ratio exhibits a significant correlation with Eddington ratio. We propose that the [NII]/Ha ratio is a useful indicator of Eddington ratio with 0.6 dex of scatter, and that it can be used to measure Eddington ratio and thus black hole mass from the measured bolometric luminosity, even for high redshift obscured AGN.

Yonsei Evolutionary Population Synthesis for Old Stellar Systems

  • We present the Yonsei Evolutionary Population Synthesis (YEPS) models for spectroscopic and photometric evolutions of simple and composite stellar populations. The models are based on the most up-to-date Yonsei-Yale stellar evolutionary tracks and BaSel 3.1 flux libraries, and provide integrated spectroscopic quantities of Lick/IDS system including high-order Balmer absorption-lines. Special care has been taken to incorporate the systematic variation of horizontal branch (HB) morphology as functions of metallicity, age, alpha-element mixture, and helium abundance of simple stellar populations. Our models for normal-helium stellar populations indicate that the realistic modeling of HB and alpha-element brings about 5 Gyr and 0.1 dex differences in age and metallicity estimations, respectively, compared to those without these effects. The HB effect does not depend on the specific choice of stellar libraries and alpha-element enhancements, and this effect is non-negligible even in the metal sensitive absorption indices, such as Mg2 and Mg b. Comparison of the models to observations reveals that the HB and alpha-element effects are critical in understanding otherwise inexplicable phenomena found in globular cluster systems in the Milky Way and nearby galaxies, including the observed bimodality of the line strengths of globular clusters in massive galaxies. In addition, we found that helium-enhanced stellar populations, which are the major sources of extreme HB stars, bring about increased FUV, NUV fluxes, and thus the model colors of those filters become extremely blue. Age dating based on the YEPS model with normal-helium stellar populations reveals that the evidence for 'downsizing' of elliptical galaxies is found not only in the local field but also in Coma cluster, and that the mean age of elliptical galaxies in Coma cluster is about 1.4 Gyr younger than the mean age of those in the local field. We also find that our models with helium-enhanced subpopulations can naturally reproduce the strong UV-upturns observed in giant elliptical galaxies assuming an age similar to that of old GCs in the Milky Way.

  • Aspergillus sp. CC-29 ws selected for its strong protease activity among various stains of molds found in soil. It was found that the production of alkaline protease reached to maximum when the wheat bran medium containing glucose as carbon source had been cultured for 4 days. Alkaline proteased was purified 36.10 fold from Aspergillus sp. CC-29 The purification procedures included ammonium sulfate fractunation gel filteration on Sepha-dex G-75 G-150 and DEAE-cellulose ion-exchange chromatography, The yield of the purified enzyme was 22.40% The purified enzyme was confirmed as a single band by the polyacryla-mide. When the purified enzyme was applied to SDS-PAGE the molecular weight was estima-ted 24000. The optimum pH for the enzyme activity was 9.0 and the optimum temperature was 4$0^{\circ}C$ The reaction of this enzyme followed typical Michaelis-Menten kinetics with the Km value of 2.10$\times$10-4M with the Vmax of 29.41 $\mu$g/min. The enzyme was reactively stable in alkalic condition and unstable by heat treatment. The activity of alkaline protease was increased by the addition of Ca2+ whereas it was inhibited by Hg2+ Zn2+ at concentration of 1$\times$10-3M.

유전자형에 따른 Streptococcus mutans의 subtyping: Southern blot RFLP와 AP-PCR을 이용한 비교 (EVALUATING TWO METHODS FOR FINGERPRINTING GENOMES FOR STREPTOCOCCUS MUTANS IN CHILDREN : A COMPARISON WITH AP-PCR AND SOUTHERN BLOT RFLP)

  • The arbitrary primer polymerase chain reaction(AP-PCR) and Southern blot restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) were used to genotype the cariogenic pathogen S. mutans in children. Following the morphologic chracteristics of colony on selective medium for S. mutans, total genomic DNA from 155 strains was extracted by conventional methods. Among 155 strains, 143 strains (92.3%) were confirmed S. mutans by PCR with dexA gene and 114 strains were used in this study. Three random sequence 10-base oligonucleotide primers were chosen for AP-PCR. The amplified DNA products were separated electrophoretically in a 2% agarose gel containing ethidium bromide and the banding patterns were compared among different strains. For RFLP analysis, DNA was digested with EcoRI and BamHI, separated on a 0.7 % agarose gel and transferred to a nylon membrane. The membrane was probed with a previously characterised 1.6 kilobases (kb) DNA fragment cloned from gtf B gene of S. mutans. The probe was labeled with isotope[$^{32}P-{\alpha}CTP$], and hybridized fragments were detected with intensifying screen. AP-PCR produced 4-8 DNA bands in the 0.25-10 kb regions and distinguished 9, 10 or 12 genotypes, depending on the specific primer used. Southern blot RFLP analysis revealed 2 hybridization patterns consisting of 1 DNA fragments 450, 500 bp. These results indicate that AP-PCR is more discriminative method for genotyping of S. mutans.

감송향이 수지상세포 성숙에 미치는 영향 (Inhibitory effects of Nardostachys Jatamansi on the maturation of dendritic cells)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate inhibitory effect on the maturation of dendritic cells from aqueous extract from Nardostachys Jatamansi(NJ). Methods: I examined the phenotypic maturation(class II MHC, CD40, CD86), expression of pro-inflammatory cytokine(TNF-$\alpha$, IL-6, IL-12) and endocytosis of FITC-Dextran in the LPS-induced bone marrow-derived dendritic cells(BMDCs) of mice. Furthermore, the Western-blot analysis reveals the mechanism of inhibitory effect. Results: 1. The NJ extract inhibited the phenotypic maturation of BMDCs in a dose-dependent manner. 2. The NJ extract inhibited the LPS induced cytokine production of BMDCs in a dose-dependent manner. 3. The NJ extract enhanced the endocytosis of Dex-FITC in LPS treated DC. 4. The NJ extract inhibited the activation of JNK and p38 phosphorylation, but not ERK phosphorylation of MAPK family and doesn't inhibit Ik-Ba degradation in LPS-stimulated BMDCs. Conclusion: These results suggest that NJ extract is able to attenuate the inflammation and maturation in BMDCs and may inhibit proliferation of T cells. In conclusion, this experiment suggests that NJ extract may be useful in hypersensitivity disease including autoimmune disease.

  • Bacillus sphaericus 1593 K-5 균주의 Culex pallens 모기유충에 대한 LC$_{50}$(cells/$m\ell$)은 2.6$\times$$10^2$이었다. B. sphericus 1593 K-5 Spo-D 1216 균주는 Culex pallens 모기유충에 대해 독성을 나타내지 않았다. B. sphaericus 1593 K-5 균주는 포자가 형성되어 가면서 독성이 증가함을 보였다. B. sphaericus 1593 K-5 균주의 세포질을 Sep-hadex G-100 컬럼상에서 gel permeation 크로마토그래피를 행하였을 때 3개의 단백질 분획을 보였으며 이 중 한 분획이 활성분획있다. 이 활성 분획을 DEAE-Sepha dex A-50 컬럼상에서 ion-exchange 크로마토그래피를 행하였을 때 4개의 단백질 분획을 보였으며 이중 한 분획이 활성분획이었다. B. sphericus 1593 K-5 Spo-D1216균주의 세포질은 Sephadex G-100 컬럼상에서 gel permeation 크로마토그래피를 행하였을 때 2개의 단백질 분획을 보였으며 이 분획 모두가 활성이 없음이 생체실험 결과 밝혀졌다.다.
