The purpose of the present study was to examine social cognition in early adolescents (i.e., empathy, prosocial moral reasoning, and perceived group norm) with latent participants of bullying. Methods: The participants included 279 adolescents (129 girls; M age = 13.5 years) in two middle schools. Results: The result showed that empathy, prosocial moral reasoning, and perceived group norm were possible determinants of latent bullying. First, high levels of empathy (especially empathic concern and perspective taking) was associated with latent defenders. Second, helping decision of prosocial moral dilemma and prosocial moral reasoning were associated with complex situational cues. Third, latent reinforcer positively indentified the group norm with regard to bullying. Conclusion: The results are discussed in terms of practical implications for anti-bullying programs and educational practitioners.

  • Understanding user acceptance of the Internet, especially the intentions to use Internet commerce and mobile commerce, is important in explaining the fact that these commerce have been growing at an exponential rate in recent years. This paper studies factors of new technology to better understand and manage the electronic commerce activities. The theoretical model proposed in this paper is intended to clarify the factors as they are related to the Technology Acceptance Model. More specifically, the relationship among trust and other factors are hypothesized. Using the Technology Acceptance Model, this research reveals the importance of the hedonic factor. The result of this research implies that the ways of stimulating and facilitating customers' participation in mobile commerce should be differentiated from those in Internet commerce.

  • This study investigated the factors influencing married men's time allocation in housework. A multidimentional theoritical approach employing the perspectives of time availability, relative resourse, sex-role ideology was employed to explain variations in husbands' participation in housework. In addition, the effects of several socio-demographic variables were investigated. Data for 226 cases were gathered from using structured qustionnaire and time diary. Results indicated that the sex-role ideology perspective was significantly supported, and the time availability perspective was partially supported. On the other hand, no significant evidence was found for the effect of relative resourse on husbands' housework. The age of husbands in socio-demographic variables had a significant effect on the amount of husbands' housework time.

The Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion (WHO, 1984)stated that a health promotion program that stimulates and strengthens community health activity is one of the five main action areas in the field of health promotion. This paper reviews the meaning and key concept of community health promotion action, and discusses ways to strengthen community action as defined by the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. It discusses the principle of community participation for health promotion, and, taking a successful example of a community-based health promotion program, it provides an illustrative example of how to build partnerships and coalitions in a community. Community development theories for community-based approaches are also introduced, along with their key concepts. • Purpose: A dance exercise program was performed to investigate the effects of exercise on exercise intention and exercise-related affect as these are important determinants of exercise behavior. Method: The subjects were overweight (23$\leq$BMI<25) or obese (BMI$\geq$25) postmenopausal women (n=14), who participated in an exercise program from May, 2003 through November, 2003 at one public health center located in Kyong-gi Province. Data was analyzed with an SAS PC program. Result: Exercise intention was significantly increased after the exercise program (t=-2.24, P=0.04). Exercise-related affect was also increased, but there was no statistically significant change (t=1.81, P=0.09). Conclusion: This study suggests that exercise participation can increase the level of future exercise behavior by increasing exercise intention and exercise-related affect.

  • Social networking service (SNS), which is based on the "six degree separation" theory, has gained its popularity in recent years. SNS creates a new way for maintaining relationship and sharing information over the virtual space. As a major branch, campus SNS provides a new platform for student to study as well as build and maintain inter-personal relationships. The highly realness of personal information and relatively strong group cohesion of campus SNS has turned it into an inevitable tool in students' daily life. The rapid growth of SNS in campus is creating huge academic and commercial benefits. However, little comprehensive research reveals what are determinant factors in driving students' intention to participate in campus SNS. In this paper, we conceptualize the participation of campus SNS as a social behavior and evaluate the impact made by social factors such as subjective norms and identity, as well as the impact of perceived reality and playfulness through an extended technology acceptance model.

  • Iranian women are at high risk of low compliance with repeat mammography due to a lack of awareness about breast cancer, negative previous experiences, cultural beliefs, and no regular visits to a physician. Thus research is needed to explore factors associated with repeated mammography participation. Applying the concept of perceived risk as the guiding model, this study aimed to test the fit and strength of the relationship between perceived risk and physician recommendation in explaining repeat mammography. A total of 601 women, aged 50 years and older referred to mammography centers in region 6, were recruited via a convenience sampling method. Using path analysis, family history of breast cancer and other types of cancer were modeled as antecedent perceived risk, and physician recommendation and knowledge were modeled as an antecedent of the number of mammography visits. The model explained 49% of the variance in repeat mammography. The two factors of physician recommendation and breast self-examination had significant direct effects (P < 0.05) on repeat mammography. Perceived risk, knowledge, and family history of breast cancer had significant indirect effects on repeat mammography through physician recommendation. The results of this study provide a background for further research and interventions not only on Iranian women but also on similar cultural groups and immigrants who have been neglected to date in the mammography literature.

  • There has been 10 years since The Health Promotion Act was legislated. The government began to establish a health promotion fund on the basis of Health Promotion Act in 1995, and to manage and operate the fund from 1998. It is evaluated that health promotion program have had various outcomes in many aspects. First, there has been growing awareness of the impotance of health promotion through the establishment of Health Plan 2010 and the effort to actualize the Plan. Second, the importance of securing health equity and identifying health determinants have been recognized during the planning process of Health Plan 2010. Third, the health promotion program have mainly focused on improving healthy life style of the population. As a result, desirable health behavior change of the population could be expected from the result of 2005 National Health and Nutrition Survey. Fourth, public health centers began to play a crucial role in implementing health promotion programs, and began to build infrastructure for health promotion programs. Fifth, the outcomes of health promotion programs by public health centers and private health organizations have been increasing. Finally, training for health promotion personnel and their participation in the program could be the foundation for the higher level of outcome achievement from the health promotion programs. Important challenges for future health promotion would be identification of the determinants and risk factors of health in Korea, establishment of local health promotion plan, building infrastructure for health promotion, creation of specific action model by public health center, development of diverse health promotion programs and health promotion program for the elderly, conducting research for evidence concerning major factors reducing the need for health care through prevention disease activities, and establishment of evaluation and feed back system for health promotion programs.
