비즈니스 프로세스 관리 표준 도입 전략 및 지침 개발: 비즈니스 프로세스 실행 언어를 중심으로 (Development of Adoption Strategy and Guideline of Business Process Management Standards: Focusing on Business Process Execution Language)

  • The objectives of this study is to develop a strategy for the adoption of BPM(Business Process Management) standards and an implementation guideline of the BPM standard for BPM solution developers focusing on BPEL(Business Process Execution Language) which is regarded as the most important BPM standard. In the heterogeneous and distributed IT environments, every type of enterprise software requires standards to enhance interoperability. BPMS(Business Process Management System), which is a type of enterprise software requires BPM standards such as BPEL(Business Process Execution Language), BPMN(Business Process Modeling and Notation), BPQL(Business Process Query Language) and so on to achieve multi-system interoperability and component interoperability with their BPM solutions. It is quite helpful to provide the adoption strategy concerning BPM standards for each type of BPM solution vendors who need the BPM standards. Since the BPEL is conceived as the most important BPM standard and widely adopted by many BPM vendors, we have proposed a reference architecture for BPEL implementation and also developed the detail implementation guideline of core components of the BPM system supporting the BPEL standard. Using the strategy and implementation guideline proposed in this work, BPM solution vendors can establish their own standard adoption strategy and they can also develop their BPM solutions supporting the BPM standards more efficiently.

INTERACTIONS WITH EDDIES IN THE UPSTREAM OF THE KUROSHIO AS SEEN BY THE HF RADAR AND ALTIMETRY DATA

  • The long-range High-Frequency (HF) ocean radar system has observed surface velocity field in the upstream of the Kuroshio north of Ishigaki Island and east of Taiwan since 2001. Applying a new method to extract geostrophic velocity component from the HF surface velocity data with the aid of satellite-born wind data, time series of daily surface geostrophic velocity field has been determined. Despite limited width of the study area of the HF radar, analysis of the sea surface height anomaly determined from the satellite altimetry data in a wider area can provide estimated dates of arrival of mesoscale eddies in the study area of the HF radar. Variations of the Kuroshio position and strength are studied in detail for these cases of interaction with mesoscale eddy, although number of occurrence of direct interaction with the Kuroshio in the study area is not statistically enough. For example, when an anticyclonic eddy approaches to the Kuroshio, the Kuroshio axis is found tend to move northward, keeping away from the approaching eddy from the east.

  • 녹색에너지의 모델링과 시뮬레이션은 연구하고자 하는 시스템의 형태에 따라 크게 의존한다. 모델링과 시뮬레이션의 주요내용은 반도체 물리(태양전지), 전기모터/발전기(풍력터빈), 전형적인 제어전략에 의한 전력전자(계통연계)등 매우 다양하다. 이들 기술들을 정확하게 모델링하는 것은 다양한 시뮬레이션 기술과 많은 모델들을 필요로 한다. 시뮬레이션을 더욱 정확하게 혹은 상세하게 하기 위해서 모델링은 특정레벨 즉, 시스템, 회로, 요소 레벨 등으로 수행하여야 한다. 다양한 레벨의 조합은 모델 방정식과 이용 가능한 매개변수들에 대한 전체적인 모델의 유용성을 크게 개선할 수 있다.

Telomerase reverse transcriptase in the regulation of gene expression

  • Telomerase plays a pivotal role in the pathology of aging and cancer by maintaining genome integrity, controlling cell proliferation, and regulating tissue homeostasis. Telomerase is essentially composed of an RNA component, Telomerase RNA or TERC, which serves as a template for telomeric DNA synthesis, and a catalytic subunit, telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT). The canonical function of TERT is the synthesis of telomeric DNA repeats, and the maintenance of telomere length. However, accumulating evidence indicates that TERT may also have some fundamental functions that are independent of its enzymatic activity. Among these telomere-independent activities of hTERT, the role of hTERT in gene transcription has been investigated in detail. Transcriptional regulation is a fundamental process in biological systems. Several studies have shown a direct involvement of hTERT in gene transcription. This mini-review will focus on the role of hTERT in gene transcription regulation, and discuss its possible mechanisms.

풍력발전기 유지보수로봇을 위한 표면 적응 이동 시스템 (A Surface Adaptive Moving Mechanism for Wind Turbine Blade Maintenance Robot)

  • As energy shortage is getting more serious, wind energy source is more promoted around the world. Blade is a key component of wind turbine. Local breakages and/or contamination in the blade bring degradation in aerodynamic efficiency and life-time. However, it is not easy and even dangerous for human workers to access the blade for inspection and maintenance since its size is huge and located at high mountains and rough sea, which are windy places. This paper deals with a novel moving mechanism that efficiently carries human workers or robots to the wind turbine blade. The proposed mechanism utilizes flexible tube with pressurized air that rolls and climbs over the blade surface. So, the tube naturally adapts the changing surface of the blade and acts no harm to it. This paper discusses about its concept, detail design, and advantages. The feasibility of the proposed mechanism is proved through experiments prototype.

Inserting the mass proportional damping (MPD) system in a concrete shear-type structure

  • This paper presents an illustrative example of the advantages offered by inserting added viscous dampers into shear-type structures in accordance with a special scheme based upon the mass proportional damping (MPD) component of the Rayleigh viscous damping matrix. In previous works developed by the authors, it has been widely shown that, within the class of Rayleigh damped systems and under the "equal total cost" constraint, the MPD system provides best overall performance both in terms of minimising top-storey mean square response to a white noise stochastic input and maximising the weighted average of modal damping ratios. A numerical verification of the advantages offered by the application of MPD systems to a realistic structure is presented herein with reference to a 4-storey reinforced-concrete frame. The dynamic response of the frame subjected to both stochastic inputs and several recorded earthquake ground motions is here analysed in detail. The results confirm the good dissipative properties of MPD systems and indicate that this is achieved at the expense of relatively small damping forces.

기하광학영역에서의 능동소나 표적신호합성 (Target Scattering Echo Simulation for Active Sonar System in the Geometric Optics Region)

  • 능동소나 시스템에서 표적신호의 근거리 정보가 중요해짐에 따라, 표적 음향산란 신호의 고유한 특성을 분석하기 위해 실험적인 방법과 시뮬레이션 기법이 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 표적신호 합성을 위해 축소표적 반향실험을 수행하였고. 자료의 분석 결과 축소표적의 음향산란은 거울면 반사의 영향이 큰 것으로 분석되어, 표적신호 합성에서 기하광학이론을 응용하였다. 복잡한 형태의 표적을 여러 표본형상으로 분리하고, 각 표본형상의 기여도를 신호의 위상과 강도를 줌으로써 계산하였으며, 표적신호 합성모델의 검증을 위해 실제 축소표적 실험 결과와 비교하였다.

  • To expect accurately the maximum power of solar cell module under various installation conditions, it is required to know the performance characteristics like temperature dependence. Today, the PV (photovoltaic) market in Korea has been growing. Also BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) systems are diversified and become popular. But thermal dependence of PV module is little known to customers and system installers. In IEC 61215,a regulation for testing the crystalline silicon solar cell module, the testing method is specified for modules. However there is limitation for testing the module with diverse application examples. In extreme installation method, there is no air flow between rear side of module and ambient, and it can induce temperature increase. In this paper, we studied the roof type installation of PV module on the surface of one-axis tracker system. We measured temperature on every component of PV module and compared to open-rack structure. As a result, we provide the foundation that explains temperature characteristics and NOCT (nominal operation cell temperature) difference. 고세장비 미세채널 기반의 마이크로 히트파이프 설계 및 제조 (Design and Fabrication of a Micro-Heat Pipe with High-Aspect-Ratio Microchannels)

  • The cooling capacity of a micro-heat pipe is mainly governed by the magnitude of capillary pressure induced in the wick structure. For microchannel wicks, a higher capillary pressure is achievable for narrower and deeper channels. In this study, a metallic micro-heat pipe adopting high-aspect-ratio microchannel wicks is fabricated. Micromachining of high-aspect-ratio microchannels is done using the laser-induced wet etching technique in which a focused laser beam irradiates the workpiece placed in a liquid etchant along a desired channel pattern. Because of the direct writing characteristic of the laser-induced wet etching method, no mask is necessary and the fabrication procedure is relatively simple. Deep microchannels of an aspect ratio close to 10 can be readily fabricated with little heat damage of the workpiece. The laser-induced wet etching process for the fabrication of high-aspect-ratio microchannels in 0.5mm thick stainless steel foil is presented in detail. The shape and size variations of microchannels with respect to the process variables, such as laser power, scanning speed, number of scans, and etchant concentration are closely examined. Also, the fabrication of a flat micro-heat pipe based on the high-aspect-ratio microchannels is demonstrated.

수치해석을 이용한 패시브 마이크로 믹서의 성능평가 (Performance Assessment of Passive Micromixer using Numerical Analysis)

  • 마이크로 믹서는 랩-온-어-칩이나 마이크로 유체 기기의 하나의 구성품으로 두 가지의 화학 물질을 혼합(융합)하는 장치이다. 본 연구는 다양한 형상의 패시브 마이크로 믹서의 성능을 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 다양한 형상의 마이크로 믹서는 총 6가지의 형상을 비교하였고, 서로 동일한 수력 직경을 갖도록 3차원 모델링하였다. 내부 혼합 유동을 전산모사하기 위해여 상용 유동해석 프로그램인 ANSYS Fluent를 사용하였다. 수치해석 방법은 본 논문에 자세하게 기술하였다. 마이크로 믹서의 성능 평가는 혼합 지수와 압력 강하로 비교하였고, 결론적으로 CDM-8T은 합리적인 혼합성능과 상대적으로 낮은 압력 강하를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.
