탈부착 가능 스마트 웨어러블 디바이스 개발 (The detachable smart wearable device)

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 웨어러블 디바이스 기술을 둘러싼 이슈 중에서 가장 중요한 (1)짧은 배터리 수명, (2)스마트폰에 의존할 수밖에 없는 네트워크 범위로 인한 호환성 및 확장성 부족, (3)크기와 무게로 인한 사용자의 개성을 살릴 수 없는 디자인 문제를 해결하기 위하여 "사용자의 용도에 따라 심박, NFC, 교통카드, GPS와 같은 센서를 선택하여 장착할 수 있는 탈부착형 스마트 기기 제어 디스플레이 메인 모듈과 배터리를 장착한 액세서리 모듈로 분리 가능한 웨어러블 디바이스"를 개발한다.

  • The influence from the increased income and aging society has amplified the interest in the well-being trend and health. People tend to enjoy sports and outdoor life. The development of smart clothing containing heating function to help maintain body temperature has been actively researched after the mid 2000s. However, the domestic study on heating clothing is severely limited. Practical study on designing heating clothing which can be commercialized is needed. The purpose of this study is to develop a commercialized detachable heating vest design through collaboration with a heating vest manufacturer. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Conducted the interview with manufacturer and a demand survey with consumers in order to develop the heating vest design. 2) Developed heating vest design that reflected the wants in the demand survey and sketched the prototype of detachable heating vest. 3) Made a sample of the heating vest and tested the wearability to illustrate the result of this study. Overall, the wearing test result showed high satisfaction for both gender.

2× 배율 도트사이트 장치의 개발 (Development of Dot Sight with 2× Magnification)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 $2{\times}$ 배율을 가지는 도트사이트 장치의 개발에 관한 것이다. 방법: 무배율 도트사이트로 먼 거리를 주시할 때 목표물을 확대해서 볼 수 있도록 하기 위해 기존 무배율 도트사이트에 착탈식으로 장착할 수 있는 새로운 광학계를 개발한다. 이는 기존 무배율($1{\times}$) 도트사이트를 $2{\times}$ 배율 도트사이트로의 전환을 필요에 따라 쉽게 할 수 있도록 하기위한 것이다. 결과: 배율이 없는 도트사이트에 착탈할 수 있는, doublet 렌즈가 쌍으로 구성되는, $2{\times}$ 배율 어포칼 광학계를 설계 제작하였다. 이를 사용하였을 때 우리는 외부 목표점을 2배 확대하여 조준할 수 있어서 조준의 정확성을 더욱 높일 수 있었다. 결론: 배율이 없는 일반 도트사이트에 착탈할 수 있는 $2{\times}$ 배율 어포칼 광학계를 설계 제작할 수 있었다. 이것에 의해 외부 목표점을 2배 확대하여 조준할 수 있도록 함으로서 조준의 정확성을 더욱 높일 수 있게 되었다.

Sewing-enabled electric button for smart fabric

  • A new button-shaped electrical device was developed for a smart fabric. This electric button can be sewn anywhere on the garment, similar to a traditional button fastener. t not only performs a decorative function but also makes the fabric suitable for use in Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It has metallic through-holes such that it can be fastened onto a fabric by conductive sewing threads. When threaded through metallic holes, the button can communicate with the external device by transmitting and receiving data. In addition, it adds specific functions by stacking a detachable application layer on the base layer. It is robust to frequent washing, and thus has excellent repeatability for use as an IoT device. The feasibility of the electric button was successfully demonstrated by its ability to identify the physical activities of walking and running, monitoring ambient temperature, and turning on LED lights.

  • It is necessary to work on a vertical plane of workpiece in order to produce a large structure like a ship. These works can be automated by using the robot with permanent magnet wheels. We developed the permanent magnet wheel which can be used by a mobile robot and easily detached. We enhanced an adhesive power by restricting the occurrence direction of magnetic flow. And we also developed a method which weakens adhesive magnetic force by changing magnetic flow with metal pins. We used the load cell and the gaussmeter to measure the characteristics of the adhesive force and magnetic force. We obtained the result that the adhesive power is reduced to 1/3 of normal state by using 4 inducing pins.

Development of Complex Module Device for Odor Reduction in Sewage

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a module with higher removal efficiency and effectiveness by adapting two or more deodorization techniques for main cause of odor pollution exposed citizen living near water treatment facilities. Research design, data and methodology: To consider the standard, unity, electrical wire, compatibility of detachable device by installing two types of dry deodorization device within one module for easy replacement. Complex odor, H2S, NH3 were collected from sewage treatment facilities for evaluation of deodorization device. Results: Using the developed application in this study, removal efficiency of complex odor, H2S, NH3 were 93%, 100%, 82%, respectively. Conclusions: The H2S removal efficiency of deodorization device was higher than bio-filter system, which were currently used by sewage treatment. Further, the device should be considered for use in efficient odor removal system.

  • One of trend of portable devices is convergence with other devices, especially with navigation system. This converged system is generally called PND (Personal Navigation Device). This detachable device is developed for personal entertainment in everyday life and navigation system when deriving, so it should meet the specification of vehicle thermal environment, anti-vibration as well as the anti-shock by sudden drop. In this paper, the way to design the hard disk drive damper with CAE, is introduced to get a reliable system from the beginning of the design step.

웨어러블 디바이스를 이용한 기능성 스마트 재킷 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Smart Jacket with Embedded Wearable Device)

  • As global interest in clothing spreads over the smart clothing which arouses high added-value in the apparel industry, this study is to develop a smart jacket with an electrically-vibrating device maintaining excellent appearance and comfort. The vibrating device has a massage function that could relieve muscle pain near shoulders and neck. The purposes of this research are to develop jacket pattern for men in their thirties considering body shapes and fashion trend, to develop a wearable device that is composed of motor and controller and integrate it into a jacket, and to assess the external appearance and functional satisfaction of the smart jacket through the wearing test. The results are as follows: 1. In order to develope an appropriate jacket pattern for men in their thirties, several patterns were assessed for their fitting comfort. The final pattern was completed after making alterations some parts, and showed high satisfaction as 3.6(on a five-point scale) in all categories. 2. A vibrating device was developed by connecting motor, controller, battery and switch. Developing this device, focus was maximizing the strength of motor and minimizing the heat generated from motor and controller. Snaps were placed between inner and outer cloth of jacket so that the vibrating device could be easily attachable and detachable. The motor was located around Trapezius where muscles often get stiff. A switch was designed to be used in selecting the modes of Strong, Weak, and Cross Tapping. 3. The wearing test was conducted to examine outer appearance, comfort for motion, and functionality of the smart jacket. The results of assessing outer appearance showed that the location for attaching the vibrating device was not noticeable but looked natural, and there is almost no change in outer appearance when the vibrating device operates. The result of assessing comfort of action revealed that wearer's satisfaction was high in all categories about activity, wearer's comfort, etc. The result also showed that wear's satisfaction for effects of vibrating massage, easiness in using the device, heat generation was not less than 3.5 in all categories except a category about noise.

  • 사물인터넷 기술은 지능형 정보처리를 필요로 하는 여러 융합 서비스의 주요 핵심 기술로 이용되고 있으며 그 중요성 또한 크게 부각되고 있다. 그리고 사물인터넷 인터랙션 디바이스를 통한 내부 네트워크 구축은 사물인터넷 디바이스를 효율적으로 연결 및 관리하며, 개방형 플랫폼과의 연동을 통해 다양한 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 한다. 특히, 저 전력 블루투스 기반 무선통신 장치인 비콘이 사물인터넷의 주요 핵심 기술로 주목받고 있다. 비콘 기술은 다양한 산업 분야에서 널리 활용되고 있으며, 최근에는 기본 기능을 넘어 특정 환경과 조건에서 사용하고자 하는 수요가 많이 늘어나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 비콘 기술과 관련하여 가속도 센서와 홀 센서를 활용한 비콘 디바이스를 제안한다. 제안한 비콘 디바이스는 센서를 통한 이동 감지를 통해 특정 상황에서의 제어가 가능하다. 아울러, 탈부착 형태의 편리한 설치, 센서를 연동한 최적화 관리 등 다양한 공장 환경에 적용이 가능할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
