원심압축기 내부유동의 점성 3차원 해석 (Computational Analysis of 3-Dimensional Viscous Flow within Centrifugal Compressors)

  • In aerodynamic design of centrifugal compressors, impellers are designed through preliminary design and blade profile generation. In order to find out faults of the initially designed impellers, the detailed informations about internal flow phenomena such as pressure distribution, flow separation, blade loading, etc are essential. These informations can be acquired with flow measurements or computational flow analyses. In this study, we calculated 3-D viscous flow in 4 back-swept impellers which were designed in our laboratory, and analyzed the flow characteristics which influence the performance of impellers.

저항 부하된 소형 다이폴을 이용한 3축 등방성 전기장 프로브 설계 (3-Axial Isotropic Electric-Field Probe Design with Resistor-Loaded Short Dipole)

  • 본 논문에서는 저항 부하를 갖는 소형 다이폴을 이용하여 3축 등방성 전기장 측정 프로브를 설계하였다. 특히, 상용 저항소자와 PCB를 이용함으로써 상용화에 장점이 있다. 설계된 전기장 측정 프로브는 저항 부하로 인한 광대역 특성으로 100 kHz에서 3 GHz까지의 광대역 특성을 갖는다. 제작 결과 광대역에 걸쳐 ${\pm}0.39dB$ 이내의 등방성 특성, 0.1 V/m의 수신감도 특성, 3 dB 이내의 주파수 응답 특성을 얻었다. 특히 250 kHz에서 3 GHz까지의 주파수 응답 특성은 ${\pm}1.4dB$의 우수한 특성을 보여 기존 전기장 프로브에 비해 우수한 특성 개선을 보였다.

고이득 및 광대역 특성의 밀리미터파 MHEMT Cascode 증폭기 (High Gain and Broadband Millimeter-wave MHEMT Cascode Amplifier)

  • 본 논문에서는 밀리미터파 대역에서 고이득과 광대역 특성을 갖는 MHEMT(Metamorphic High Electron Mobility Transistor) cascode 증폭기를 설계 및 제작하였다. Cascode 증폭기 제작을 위해 0.1 ㎛ InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs MHEMT를 설계ㆍ제작하였다. 제작된 MHEMT는 드레인 전류 밀도 640 mA/mm, 최대 전달컨덕턴스(gm)는 653 mS/mm를 얻었으며, 주파수 특성으로 f/sub T/는 173 GHz, f/sub max/는 271 GHz의 우수한 특성을 나타내었다. Cascode 증폭기는 CPW 전송선로를 이용하여 광대역 특성을 얻을 수 있도록 정합회로를 설계하였으며, 1단과 2단 증폭기의 2가지 종류로 회로를 설계하였다. 설계된 증폭기는 본 연구에서 개발된 MHEMT MIMIC 공정을 이용해 제작되었다. 제작된 cascode 증폭기의 측정결과, 1단 증폭기는 3 dB 대역폭이 31.3∼68.3 GHz로 37 GHz의 넓은 대역 특성을 얻었으며, 대역내에서 평균 9.7 dB 및 40 GHz에서 최대 11.3 dB의 S21 이득 특성을 나타내었다. Cascode 2단 증폭기는, 3 dB 대역폭이 32.5∼62.0 GHz로 29.5 GHz의 대역폭과 대역내에서 평균 20.4 dB 및 36.5 GHz에서 최대 22.3 dB의 높은 이득 특성을 얻었다.

The comparison of the accuracy of temporary crowns fabricated with several 3D printers and a milling machine

  • PURPOSE. The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the accuracy of various 3D printers and a milling machine. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The die model was designed using CAD (Autodesk Inventor 2018 sp3). The 30 ㎛ cement space was given to the die and the ideal crown of the mandibular left first molar was designed using CAD (ExoCAD). The crowns were produced using the milling machine (Imes-icore 250i) and the 3D printers (Zenith U, Zenith D, W11) and they were divided into four groups. In all groups, the interior of each crown was scanned (Identica blue) and superimposed (Geomagic Control X) with the previously designed die. The difference between the die and the actual crown was measured at specific points. The Kruskal-Wallis test, the Mann-Whitney test, and Bonferroni's method were performed with a statistical analysis software (P < .008 in inter-group comparison P < .001 in intra-group comparison). RESULTS. In all groups, the center of the occlusal area and the anti-rotational dimple area showed significantly greater difference and the marginal area showed the smallest difference comparatively. The mean value of the difference in each area and the sum of the differences were higher in order of W11, Imes-icore 250i, Zenith D, and Zenith U. CONCLUSION. The digital light processing (DLP) method shows higher accuracy compared to the sereolithography (SLA) method using the same resin material.

변형 가능한 4D프린팅 부품을 적용한 서비스 기반 웹 (Service-oriented Web for Transformable 4D Printing Components)

  • 4D printing is a method that manufactures a programmed transformable 3d printed components that can be transformed in a pre-designed environment. We propose a service-oriented web architecture for supporting 4D printing system. Service model is classified under four kinds of functions: design, sharing, application and production. We designed RESTful web APIs for these functions. Some preliminary designs about the web API architecture and data modeling is discussed.

  • This paper deals with optimum design of surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) for automotive component. For a compact system structure, it was designed as a motor with a 14-pole 12-slot concentrated winding and hollow shaft. The motor is a thin type structure which stator outer diameter is relatively large compared to its axial length and is designed to have a high magnetic saturation for increasing the torque density. Since the high magnetic saturation in the stator core increases the axial leakage flux, a 3-dimensional (3-D) finite element analysis (FEA) is indispensable for torque analysis. However, optimum designs using 3-D FEA is inefficient in terms of time and cost. Therefore, equivalent 2-D FEA which is able to consider axial leakage flux is applied to the optimization to overcome the disadvantages of 3-D FEA. The structure for cost reduction is proposed and optimum design using equivalent 2-D FEA has been performed.

Novel condylar repositioning method for 3D-printed models

  • Background: Along with the advances in technology of three-dimensional (3D) printer, it became a possible to make more precise patient-specific 3D model in the various fields including oral and maxillofacial surgery. When creating 3D models of the mandible and maxilla, it is easier to make a single unit with a fused temporomandibular joint, though this results in poor operability of the model. However, while models created with a separate mandible and maxilla have operability, it can be difficult to fully restore the position of the condylar after simulation. The purpose of this study is to introduce and asses the novel condylar repositioning method in 3D model preoperational simulation. Methods: Our novel condylar repositioning method is simple to apply two irregularities in 3D models. Three oral surgeons measured and evaluated one linear distance and two angles in 3D models. Results: This study included two patients who underwent sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) and two benign tumor patients who underwent segmental mandibulectomy and immediate reconstruction. For each SSRO case, the mandibular condyles were designed to be convex and the glenoid cavities were designed to be concave. For the benign tumor cases, the margins on the resection side, including the joint portions, were designed to be convex, and the resection margin was designed to be concave. The distance from the mandibular ramus to the tip of the maxillary canine, the angle created by joining the inferior edge of the orbit to the tip of the maxillary canine and the ramus, the angle created by the lines from the base of the mentum to the endpoint of the condyle, and the angle between the most lateral point of the condyle and the most medial point of the condyle were measured before and after simulations. Near-complete matches were observed for all items measured before and after model simulations of surgery in all jaw deformity and reconstruction cases. Conclusions: We demonstrated that 3D models manufactured using our method can be applied to simulations and fully restore the position of the condyle without the need for special devices.

CFD 구조의 마이크로스트립 라인 가변 대역통과필터 설계 (Design of CFD Structured Microstrip Line Bandpass Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 CFB 구조에 기반한 마이크로스트립 라인을 이용하여 커플링 개수가 3개인 가변 대역통과 필터를 제안한다. 바이어스 전압을 증가시키면 강유전체의 실효 유전율($\varepsilon$eff)이 감소하고, 감소된 실효 유전율은 중심 주파수를 높은 값으로 이동시킨다 설계된 필터는 $\varepsilon$eff이 13~10에 걸쳐, 반사 손실이 10 dB 이상, 삽입손실이 3.5 dB 이하, 3-dB 대역폭이 1.18 GHz 이하, 중심 주파수는 25.4 GHz에서 28.8 GHz까지 이동하므로 가변성은 3.4 GHz에 달하는 특성을 보인다. 필터의 크기는 7.0 mm ${\times}$ 5.0 mm ${\times}$ 0.5 mm이다.

Analysis, Control, and Synchronization of a 3-D Novel Jerk Chaotic System with Two Quadratic Nonlinearities

  • In this research work, a seven-term 3-D novel jerk chaotic system with two quadratic nonlinearities has been proposed. The basic qualitative properties of the novel jerk chaotic system have been described in detail. Next, an adaptive backstepping controller is designed to stabilize the novel jerk chaotic system with two unknown parameters. Moreover, an adaptive backstepping controller is designed to achieve complete chaos synchronization of the identical novel jerk chaotic systems with two unknown parameters. MATLAB simulations have been shown in detail to illustrate all the main results developed for the 3-D novel jerk chaotic system.

  • Recently, the virtual world where avatars are playing crucial roles in connecting users with each other receives much attention from practioners as well as academicians. Especially, Second Life is one of the most prevailing website where 3-D avatars can be easily designed in line with for users' personal tastes. However, there are no studies showing how the selling agents designed in 3-D avatars can affect customer trust and purchase intention in the context of virtual world. This study is concerned with suggesting the empirical results to fill in the research void like this. Results reveal that the proposed hypotheses are proven with statistical significance.
