The purpose of this study is to estimate of design and ambience of goods by using 5 Kansei design items (shape, color, sense of material, fit, functionality/convenience). This paper describe that effectiveness of 5 Kansei design items. selecting image words and correspondence of 5 Kansei design items with image words. Kansei design items, selecting image words and correspondence of 5 Kansei design items with image words. (image words: the word describing about item image)
The importance of design is emphasized in many industries. It began to earn recognition as part of industry rather than the arts. In particular, utilization of visual information design including moving images, packaging, advertisement, publication, editorial and visual information processing is higher than others in the design field. However, disputes relating to intellectual property rights have been also increasing as it became known. Therefore, now is the time to consider and establish an effective dispute settlement system for the design industry. In this view, arbitration will be a suitable method for dispute settlement in visual information design because of characteristics such as confidentiality, professionalism, efficiency, economy and flexibility. However, Arbitration system is not well known to the people who work in this industry. Thus, in order to aggressively advertise the arbitration system, an arbitration institution has to appoint design experts as new arbitrators for domestic and international arbitration. Next, an arbitration institution needs to prepare the new and expediting rules with design field characterization. Finally, it has to plan to cooperate with all of the institutions and schools concerned.
This study identifies the current status of hanok design process and required design information through individual survey and interview with hanok architects and builders to suggest a proposal. Current design system turns out to be a common design process not reflecting hanok's unique mechanism of production. The proposal consists of the alternative design process, 'Initial survey / Site and structural planning / Spatial layout and form / Openings, interior and exterior elements design / Detail design', containing the specialty of hanok's mechanism, and the lists of design information required in its each stage. The proposed design process also emphasizes the significance of consultation in a way of designing coordination, and classifies the specific contents for each consultation moments. The study is expected to contribute for architects including the group who are not specialized in hanok to improve the architectural quality by following the systematic design process. Also the design system provides a framework to organize the vast range of design information being recently developed in the technique-oriented area.

To increase the productivity and efficiency of an enterprise, all relevant product information should be provided to shop floor workers timely and in a unified form because shop floor workers are final consumers of most accumulated information generated from various departments of an enterprise. But, most existing enterprise information systems have an emphasis upon providing design/manufacturing information to office workers. Proposed in this study is the development of integrated design/manufacturing information system focused on providing cohesive information required to shop floor activities. For developing integrated information system, the functional requirements at the shop floor are identified and analyzed. Based on the extracted functional requirements, object-oriented system design and implementation is conducted. By using this system, shop floor workers can use all relevant information required to their daily operation in a integrated and unified form.

In recent years, researchers are increasingly trying to use BIM-based 3D models for BIM nD design such as 4D (3D + Time) and 5D (4D + Cost). However, there are still many problems in efficiently using process management based on the BIM information created at each design stage. Therefore, this study proposes a method to automate 4D and 5D design support in each design stage by using BIM-based Dynamo algorithm. To do this, I implemented an algorithm that can automatically input the process information needed for 4D and 5D by using Revit's Add-in program, Dynamo. In order to support the 4D design, the algorithm was created to enable automatic process simulation by synchronizing process simulation information (Excel file) through the Navisworks program, BIM software. The algorithm was created to automatically enable process simulation. And to support the 5D design, the algorithm was developed to enable automatic extraction of the information needed for mass production from the BIM model by utilizing the dynamo algorithm. Therefore, in order to verify the 4D and 5D design support algorithms, we verified the applicability through consultation with related workers and experts. As a result, it has been demonstrated that it is possible to manage information about process information and to quickly extract information from design and design changes. In addition, BIM data can be used to manage and input the necessary process information in 4D and 5D, which is advantageous for shortening construction time and cost. This study will make it easy to improve design quality and manage design information, and will be the foundation for future building automation research.
Planning information generated during initial architectural design phases significantly influences subsequent phases, and is implemented into architectural design models during the design process. However, failures to manage and use planning information in Korean design offices remain common. Current design tools that incorporate planning information also do not address the issue of interoperability during the life cycles of buildings. To address these problems, the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) extension model was developed to accommodate the need to manage and use planning information for cooperation between design offices carrying out multidisciplinary tasks. This paper introduces a purpose-built software tool that implements the IFC model and demonstrates the efficiency of the proposed method with the software tool.
The necessity of imformation on product design process is increased in recently years, because a product can be called a mass of information and becomes more complex as long as technology is developed. But the present product development method is like a relay race. In this sequential process, information is transferred from one department to other departments like \"over the wall\". And communication gaps among departments are generated, so imformation cannot be controlled very well. Therefore it is needed to innovate the design process. The information system proposedin this study is an application software which can be useful for integrated product design process. It has been developed primarily for use in IBN PC and windows environment. It comprises four functional modules; functions of handing the overall project information (document, ideaskech, rendering, drawing); functions of decision making production problems in design project process; functions of groupware which can link with other departments; functions of comprehensive database with production.roduction.
New technology development capability plays a key role in making small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increase their innovation performance, such as in product or process innovation. To examine the influencing factors of SMEs' new technology development capability, this study empirically analyzes the mediating effects of SMEs' process design capability and product interior design capability on the positive association between their external information network diversity and new technology development capability. This study performs the ordinary least squares regression on a sample of 2,000 South Korean SMEs. Results reveal that SMEs' process design capability fully mediates, and product interior design capability partially mediates the positive association between the external information network diversity and new technology development capability.

Integration of engineering information through the IT (Information Technology) is very important key during the collaboration design process. How can we realize the data efficiently in real-time at the early design stage? How can we manage to integrate the separate information made by each designer or department effectively in real time? IT global trend is the unique way of handling these complicated problems from the information inundation. This paper suggests the design process management system deduced from the analytical results considering BPM (Business Process Management) solution workflow. Workflow based design process management system can help user share and integrate the needed information at the right time through Internet. It is found that the proposed tool works well for a beam design case, and this framework can be thus further expanded for an engineering design environment smoothly.
Effective design of a database is essential for operating application systems efficiently. This paper discusses database design for a geographic information system. This goals of database design are multiple: to satisfy the information content requirements of the specified users and applications; to provide a natural and easy-to-understand structuring of the information; and to support processing requirements and any performance objectives such as response time, processing time, and storage space. Database design is a very complex process and is decomposed in three phases: conceptual, logical, and physical design. In this paper, we first collect and analyze the requirements for a geographic information system. We also perform database design for these requirements through the three design phases systematically. Our results would contribute to the effective construction of a database for a geographic information system.
