Design and Implementation of 3D Studio Max Plug-In in Collaborative Systems (협력시스템에서 3D 스튜디오 맥스 플러그인 설계 및 개발)

  • Collaborative systems allow users, who may be far removed from each other geographically, to do collaborative work such as 3D animation, computer game, and industrial design in a single virtual space. This paper describes our experience to develop a collaborative system framework that aims at expanding the some functions of a stand-alone visual modeling tool, called 3D Studio Max, into those of the distributed collaborative working environments. The paper mainly deals with design and implementation of a 3D shared-object Plug-In with respect to the 3D Studio Max Plug-In Software Development Kit in the distributed collaborative system developed by the authors. There are two major functions of the proposed scheme; one is to write 3D object-information to the shared memory after extracting it from the 3D Studio Max, the other is to create 3D objects after retrieving them from the shared memory. Also, the proposed scheme provides a simple way of storing 3D objects that have variable size, by means of shared memory which located in between the collaborative system clients and 3D studio Max. One of the remarkable virtures of the Plug-In is to reduce a considerable amount of shared object data which in consequence can mitigate the network overhead. This can be achieved by the fact that the system is able to extract a minimum amount of 3D objects that are required to transmit. Also, using the proposed scheme, user can facilitate 3D Studio Max into distributed collaborative working environments. This, in consequence give many benefits such as saving time as well as eliminating space constraints in the course of 3D modeling when we are under industrial design process.

  • The future population of Korea is expected to reach the second highest level in the world by 2060 for the elderly. It is because of the rapid development of low fertility and medical technology. The burden of society for the elderly is expected to increase steadily. The elderly person firstly appears functional disorder. They have low ability in memory and in cognitive will be. Their activities are therefore limited. And economic production capacity is sharply reduced. Self-sufficiency is a difficult situation. They need help in economic and social aspects. Products for them need research and development. The elderly have a Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI) stage with poor cognitive abilities. It is effective to combine pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods for people with mild cognitive impairment. The effects of non-pharmacological treatments on music have been proven. This paper is a study on the appearance from the viewpoint of design in the development of ancillary instruments using music therapy techniques with Digital Convergence. For this study, we investigated the preference for external appearance of mild cognitive impairment. Two times surveys were conducted. As a result, the design of home care product for the hard cognitive impaired was different from that of a conventional game machine or set top box. It should be designed according to the user's special circumstances. They are memory and cognitive abilities. Products that meet physical and mental changes must be developed.

  • Nowadays, display-contents are developing to an informative environment. that is under the logic of the media operating system. To perceive the media-environments and produce the cultural contents, the cultural designers seek to understand a skin structure from making up for shape. To appreciate operating system in data and database is not only systematization of form and contents of visual contents but also variety contents into multiple-platform and integrative environments. These days, the spectacle exhibition try to express for their surface design between algorithm of data and database. the information is expressing aesthetic which means presents the integrated contents through the play instinct environment to end-user. That was given web or game to participation is developing with the cellular device and ubiquitous computing system. in the linear perspective, the end-user should be immerse more and more hyper-simulation system because of the operating algorithm of database. To do this, human have need to get the information-ability from multi-platform society. In the virtual environment, database offer the experience of an unheard-of event to end-user that prepare the participants the circumstances priority of signifiers. To do that already based on a fixed sensibility endow with narrative of the freshness- experience.

  • Movement of Province Government Office of Chungcheongnam-do is pursued to balance regional development of South Chungcheong Province. The Head Office was built in Naepo area(Hongsung & Yeasan) which is located in the center of Chungnam geographically to promote balanced regional development. Stage two goals for 2015 of city construction is staying at the level of 20 %. The cause is very complicated, but it can be explained by central government agencies in the establishment of the Sejong City and relocation of the central government policy support. This study is looking for new strategies to get competitive power and Regional Festival which leads the mood and industry in the new city, Naepo.

  • An e-passport is equipped with bio information by adding the non-attachable IC chip with a smart function. In order to solve such a problem, the user's privacy is protected by using the BAC, PA, AA and EAC mechanisms. However, the password key used in the BAC mechanism is made of the combination of the MRZ values. As a result, it is possible to decode the password by using the indiscriminate attacking program after finding out the combined rules of MRZ. This thesis suggests the mechanism with an improved level of efficiency through the time-stamp values by using the information of images and fingerprints and checking the forge or falsification of the e-passport when establishing a safe channel between the chip of the e-passport and the decoding system.

  • In LTE-Advanced that different networks coexist, it is considered that it is actually difficult to provide service continuity with a procedural and static control method applied to the existing voice service. This research suggests a resource management framework to support the service continuity effectively based on QoS support. In other words, as context information of mobile terminal and base station changes, set-up of related functions such as ISHO, cell selection, source allocation, load control, and QoS mapping is adapted; each function fits into the change, exchanges the process of reorganization, and interacts; these actions go toward to satisfy service continuity. For this aim, the sequence diagram between the function modules for supporting four kind of ISHO is described and then a scenario for ISHO is considered.

  • These days, mobile technology is developing very fast. It has increased the usage of the Internet by mobile phones. Nowadays the avatar and game contents services are most popular in mobile phones using the Internet. In this paper, we propose a Client/Server system to combine the animation avatar and e-mail services on SK-VM which are different from simple avatar services. The server which consists of DB (database) module and mail management module is designed in order to manage the information about avatar and the user. The client is designed so as to show the email contents and avatar animation on the mobile phone. This model is intended to reduce the performance overhead on the client as much as possible. We expect that this module would be useful in the mobile phones with limited resources, although the technology is being developed very rapidly.

  • The elevator system combines various convergence technologies with the development of ICT technology. Emergency call devices which are safety related devices is applied as an obligation of the elevator and those scope also varies. In this paper, we propose an integrated model that overcomes the limitations of existing voice emergency call devices and efficiently manages and manages video call based service structures in VoIP based on wired and wireless environments. This method effectively manages and operates various lift data and video records in the elevator between the manager, the server and the user. And also It is possible to secure the quality of video call in VoIP and cloud service environment and increase the reliability of safety management and enhance various service environment by creating an integrated structure utilizing various data and additional services in the elevator.

  • The interest in the service of 3D mobile contents becomes larger due to the technological advance of production and services of mobile contents and the appearance of the exclusive mobile phone for 3D game. Therefore, the researches about the efficient mobile services of large 3D contents are wanted in the circumstances of the narrow bandwidth and the burden of the connection charge of wireless mobile communications. In this paper, we suggest a strategy of caching for looking up and downloading the 3D marine characters efficiently and a system model for mobile service of 3D marine characters. The suggested system is designed for serving efficiently the high-quality 3D characters through the wireless mobile communications using the database on the 3D marine objects of cyber aquarium constructed for the services through the wired internet.

  • As web technology and educational environments are in rapid progress, web-based cooperative learning systems have gained a lot of interests. Recently some studies have attempted to combine a learning system and simple games that enable learners to actively participate and have high interests in learning. These studies are based on TGT model, a cooperative learning model using games, and mostly remain system design levels. A few implemented systems have many problems because they focus only on pure TGT model. To solve these problems, this paper builds a extended TGT model and a new web-based cooperative learning system using this new model. The extended part contains ideas such as expert learning from Jigsaw II model, improvement scores from STAD model and making game problems by learners. A system using pure TGT model and a suggested system are implemented and used by two classes of middle school students to evaluate our system. The experimental results show that our system outperforms the other system.
