The aim of this study is to review the literature addressed the methodology to measure and evaluate the health outcomes as evidences for health benefits through the study on the healing environment, garden, therapeutic garden and viewing landscape and so forth. The research methods and measures used to assess health effects in the reviewed studies have applied in a different way ranged from quantitative methods (physical measures or quantitative observations) to qualitative methods (qualitative observations and surveys). In a literature review of research articles on the health outcomes have been found various research methods and measures used to assess health effects. This study will be concentrated mainly on methodological considerations in order to find the significant evidences related to evidence-based design (EBD). Future research should build the body of methodological knowledge to find more empirical evidences as sound scientific data and to improve the effectiveness of design interventions.

KHST(Korea High Speed Train) project plans to design and to build an high speed train. There are noise requirements in passenger room for the standing and running condition, which should be reached. Predicted noise calculated for the standing and running TM5(Motorized car) and TT4(Trailer car) train (v=300 km/h and v=350 km/h) to find out critical areas in or around the train. From the estimation in DWA IfS, actions of noise reduction are proposed to reach the requirements. This paper takes the review of the calculated results in DWA IfS to propose a new design of inner wall.

This paper focused on problems of design, construction, and maintenance caused by construction implementation processes. They were analyzed through case study of structure safety diagnosis projects. From the case study, it is expected that the introduction of Construction Management from the first stage of procurement will improve construction cost increase or burden on small design company. It strengthens coherent management from design and source contractor selection to build review of responsibility. The coherency will prevent changes in designing or infirm unreliable construction. It is desirable that expert opinions are considered when structure changes and establishment occur and that, if necessary, actions such as source selection, periodic audits, and diagnosis arc checked and fed back to maintenance.

Articulated vehicles which have a pivoting joint allowing the vehicle to rotate more easily are difficult to turn the curves because of their long length. In order to review operational safety, turning characteristics related to geometric design should be investigated when articulated vehicles run on the road which can be interfered with other vehicles. The vehicles to review the turning characteristics are the normal articulated bus in Seoul with FWS(front wheel steering) and new bimodal tram with AWS(all wheel steering). Steering characteristics and geometric design were investigated such as turning radius, offtracking, swept path width and swingout. The results were reviewed with respect to the standards of vehicle safety and road design.

The purpose of this study is to review the plan composition characteristics of the super high-rise apartment. 20 cases were selected in Seoul and Kyunggi area that were planned or constructed since 1999, and 10 unit plans were analyzed to review such design characteristics as block type & entry access type, plane figure, opening layout, area distribution and spice composition of unit plan. The result of the study shows that the super high-rise apartment has more variant block types and plane figures compare with the conventional high-rise apartment, and it also has several design characteristics in plane composition such as the increase of the number of the walls with openings, the weakening of the spatial centralization of a living room and the dispersion of rooms with the increase of connection by corridors.

In designing and evaluating a new product, the company needs to give thought to the entire spectrum of produceability, usability, and ultimate reliability, as well as safety of users. For each design review(DR) stage, a formal, systematic, documented review and evaluation of a product design is conducted to assure that the product is safe and reliable, that costs and materials have been optimized, and that the design complies with its specifications and requirements. This paper presents how to improve development process for product's safety and reliability. The process requires gathering the appropriate information, determining the limits of the product, estimating risk associated with the task-hazard combinations, and reducing risk according to a prioritized procedure.

The Korea high-speed rail, based on the French design. It also implements new concept to increase the strength of bridge deck by adding an impact factor (dynamic intensity factor) in static load. In order to assure the dynamic stability, SYSTRA and Jeseph Penzien, a professor in CEC (the US) conducted a dynamic stability review on design phase. Analyzing the review results, they developed design criteria for dynamic behavior. This study deal with operating PSC box GIRDER equipped with measurement equipment or measured data of Seoul $\∼$ Taejeon, P.S.C BOX GIRDER bridge and steel comsition bridge equipped with measurement equipment based on structual knowledge about configuration of measuring sensor, response analysis of structure when train runs was performed by using measured data of PSC box girder to directly compare with design criteria. moreover, the dynamic stability with comparison of high-speed rail construction criteria was reviewed and analyzed based on historical records.

This study explored the literature review for intending to make contemporary furniture expressed as postmodern aesthetics accessible to the broadest possible public, particularly through an examination and realization of art and everyday life, using qualitative analysis about the related literature as the principal methodology. The postmodern furniture aesthetics of communication expressed through double-coding, which was seen by Charles Jencks as the defining element of Post-Modernism, is characterized by the use of ideas from the traditions of craft. Hence, I dealt with pre-Modern furniture and Modern-furniture aesthetics as the background of postmodern furniture called New design furniture. As a result, contemporary furniture called New design furniture represented the use of ornament, craftsmanship, or beauty from the traditions of craft, which was a main source for communication value in postmodern furniture aesthetics.

As it was argued that students' cognitive engagement can be, at least in part, modified by individual or learning environmental factors, prior studies have attempted to identify the factors explaining the variability of students' cognitive engagement. This literature review has shown that students' cognitive engagement can be altered by various elements in the learning environment design such as factors related students' perceptions of teaching quality, characteristics of tasks and learning activities, teachers' behaviors during instruction, classroom goal structures, the integration of student oriented learning, action learning, problem-based learning, and constructivist learning, and academic disciplines. Based on the review, this study suggests that more studies are required to focus on understandings how the integration of instructional design principles into courses and the levels of student cognitive engagement in these courses are related. Also, an investigation of direct and indirect effect of learning environments taking into account students' personal factors would provide a more accurate picture of the relationship between learning environmental factors and students' cognitive engagement.
