The purpose of this study was to search for the effective mass customized fashion design process based on internet shopping, so that a total of fifteen models of mass customized fashion design processes which are different in the customized degree and in the composition of design elements was proposed in this study, and to compare their efficiencies and appropriateness with those of the existing fashion design process. The data was obtained from a survey of 180 Korean females in their twenties and thirties from Nov 17th to 29th, 2002. The results of this study were summarized as follows: First, more than half of the whole respondents appeared to prefer mass customized products. Therefore, the mass customized design process was considered to be applicable to some sectors in the present domestic clothing market. Second, Respondents generally preferred the designs by mass customized design process model to those by existing fashion design process. However, satisfaction on the designs done by the mass customized design process suggesting only one choice to prosumers was lower than that of existing fashion design process. This result suggested that mass customized fashion design process enabling at least two choices should be presented to prosumers in order to increase their design satisfaction. In addition, the design process models suggesting more that three choices presented higher satisfaction than existing fashion design process.

This study proposes a process information model which can integrate various activities during the product development process, the system which can manage the process. Development process information will allow designers and managers to access previous tasks readily and utilize the information in making decisions at hand. While developing products in heterogeneous and distributed environments, concurrent and collaborative designs can be achieved by STEP. The process model in this study divides the task of product development into two fundamental parts, Specific Process(SP) and Normal Process(NP). SP includes the specific information and refer to those defined by prior STEP. NP is routine process excluded from being defined as SP. Due data information can be added to manage development pace and to show delayed tasks. As two or more different processes can be linked to show the entire development flow, Static STEP information can be dynamically interlaced. Remote location operations can be incorporated on the Internet using STEP, and information can be shared. The system has been built upon a process model schema so that task stage, design history, and different development style can be managed and accessed for each component. The system has been proven efficient in information management and exchange by several scenario testings.
The purpose of this study is to suggest a evaluation method and matching process model which derives suitable design firm for a client. Unlike the existing evaluation method, the suggested evaluation method and matching process for interior design firm allows a client specify his own needs. The evaluation methods utilizes designers experience record, past performance and customers post occupancy evaluation to derive design firms meeting clients requirements. With this method and matching process model, customers could access the design firms more efficiently and the design firms suitable for the clients needs could be suggested.

As a part of study to develop a building design support system for architectural designer's design decision process, the drawbacks of fuzzy system-based design decision model suggested in the previous study have been made up for. A method of logically taking the characteristic and impact of design elements into designing HVAC type was suggested. For purpose of mirroring HAVC designer's working process, a model was developed using AHP, a way of decision making process in the inference process of optimum design values.

In design of suspension system for KHST, it was applied the approximated optimization method using meta-models which called Response Surface Model and Neural Network Model for 29 design variables and 46 performance index. These models was coded using correlation between design variables and performance indices that is made by the 66 times iterative execution through the design of experimental table consisted orthogonal array L32 and D-Optimal design table. The results show that the optimization process is very efficient and simply applicable for complex mechanical system such as railway vehicle system. Also it was compared with the sensitivity of some design variables in order to know the characteristics of two models. This paper describes the general method for dynamic analysis and design process of railway vehicle system applied to KHST development, and proposed the efficient methods for vibration mode analysis process dealing with test data and the function based approximation method using meta-model applicable for a complex mechanical system. This method will be able to apply to the other railway vehicle system in oder to systematize and generalize the design process of railway vehicle dynamic system.
The present study discuss about numerical methods to analyze design parameters of pyrolysis-melting incineration system. Various numerical methods of different viewpoint are introduced to simulate the performance of the system. Process analysis of the overall system is the beginning procedure of basic design process. Heat and material flow of each element are connected and are influential to each other, hence, an appropriate process modeling should be executed to prevent from unacceptable process design concepts that may results in system failure. Models to simulate performance of each elementary facility generate valuable informations on design and operation parameters, and, derive the basic design concept to be optimized. A pyrolysis model derived from waste bed combustion model is introduced to simulate the mass conversion and heat transfer in the pyrolysis process. CFD(Computational fluid dynamics) is an effective method to optimize the thermal reacting flow in various reactors such as combustor and heat exchanger. Secondary air jets arrangement and the shape of the combustor could be optimized by CFD technology.

The purpose of this paper is to develop instructional activity support model for capstone design in order for improving creative engineering education. To do this, having extracted the core idea of capstone design, and elicited core learning activity process, and grasped core supportive factors according to each core learning activity process that elicited, an improved instructional design model for capstone design was then developed through formative evaluation with respect to the draft of the instructional system development model for capstone design. As to major research methods, case analysis, requirements analysis through interview, and formative evaluation by experts were employed, and then research studies were undertaken. The formative evaluation by experts was carried out for two hours in 2007, and the experts participated in the evaluation consisted of total 6 persons: two specialists of capstone design contents, two professionals in field works, and two expert instructional designers in education engineering. Interview results had been reflected in this research when developing final instructional design model for capstone design. The core learning activity process of the final instructional design model for caption design, which developed in this research, comprises following stages: (1) Team building $\rightarrow$ (2) Integrated meeting between industry and academy $\rightarrow$ (3) Analysis of tasks $\rightarrow$ (4) Clarification of tasks $\rightarrow$(5) Seeking solutions for issues $\rightarrow$ (6) Eliciting priority of solutions $\rightarrow$ (7) Designing solutions and construction $\rightarrow$ (8) Exhibiting outcomes and presentation $\rightarrow$(9) Gaining comprehensive insights Also, in the core learning activity process, supportive factors that support implementation of each step were presented having been categorized into facilitator (teacher, and professionals in field works), learner and tool, etc.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept of 'Gradual Differentiation' in parametric design in terms of pure model logic and thus describe the distinctive feature from the previous design method. To meet the purpose, it explores external cases like gradual factor identified in natural phenomenon and artworks and define the inherent model principles into "Self-similarity', "Correlation', and 'Temporality' by examining these features in terms of algorithm. Meanwhile, it identified the principle of gradual model representation in parametric design within a single system called 'Attractor System' by applying these three concepts into specific methods of parametric design, and by interpreting the logical structure through the association among 'Attractor', 'Field', and 'Differentiation'. The creative utilization of parameter shows that gradual model process in parametric design does not mean a passive "conversion process" merely replacing natural parameter with algorithm; rather, it refers to an active "generating process" creating new meanings and value. By continuing this process of conceptual understanding and insight, creative perspective and practical ability to interpret parameter can be improved.
