When the international insurance market is expected to change rapidly, the insurance barriers of some key countries in OECD have been studied. Many foreign insurers within the U.S. can enjoy national treatment in their market access, establishement and operations. but it can be viewed as an easy country to access and operate when we understand socio-cultural surroundings more deeply than their laws and regulations Japan, our neighbourhood is seeking the liberalization in the provision of international insurance services by the new insurance law in 1996. However, its main barriers are the official gazette and rules of the administrative authorities. EU, after the intergation, is running after the supervision of home country, to say nothing of the liberalization and the deregulation. The particular protectionist measure might be justified by the corresponding rationale.

E-business might be characterized by open system through internet, fortification of relationship between the suppliers and customers in chain system of company, the collaboration among partners and the use of IT. For these characteristics, e-business companies are becoming to suffer such burdens as wide spread of global economy, industry deregulation, and the increasing number of new entrants. In this situation, e-business companies should maintain the flexible system to adapt fast changing environment. Information system planning has been the important research area for many years because of its strategic importance. Among various variables, organization and IS context have been researched for making successful ouput of ISP. In this paper, I studied the importance of flexibility in e-business environments. And further I examined the flexibility of IS, organization and ISP methodologies. The forthcoming paper, I expect to investigate the relationship between IS flexibility, organizational flexibility, ISP flexible methodologies and successful ISP.

The deregulation and structural reform of power markets have started from the early 90s, which has brought about new studies on the new environment. Regardless the market structure, however, power systems need to be operated and planned in a stable and reliable manner. Therefore, decisions on proper amount of operating reserves and their reliable operations are very important. Up to now, the decision processes of operating reserves depend mainly on experiences of operators in Korea. When Korean power market comes under private management, operating reserves would influence power rate as well as power Quality, Therefore, it is time to prepare reasonable operating reserve standards in a systematic way for the new environment. This study suggests the proper operating reserve standards considering rules of the power market in Korea. To verify the adequacy of the proposed standards, stability and frequency characteristics of the Korean power system are analyzed as well.

Korea's recent attempt to separate prescription and dispensation of pharmaceuticals suffers serious, negative side effects. The interned-based prescription delivery system is being considered a supportive tool to alleviate such side effects. This paper conducts an economic evaluation of the system. We consider all possible types of pecuniary costs and benefits, from societal perspective, to conclude that nationwide adoption of the system would raise net social benefits by 5,892 billion won for the coming five years. Specifically, the net benefits would be distributed among consumers (5,667 billion won), pharmacies (216 billion won) and medical institutions (8 billion won). Net social benefits would be far mere enhanced by deregulation policies, such as removal of restrictions on electronic type prescription and home-delivery of dispensed drugs.

The Service sector has increased dramatically in importance over the last decade, both internationally and in the Korea. Deregulation of services, growing competition, fluctuations in high quality demand, and the application of the Information Technologies are presenting a considerable challenge to service companies. In gas or oil companies are exposed to foreign competitions, price and promotion competition with other companies. Usually Service Quality includes five dimensions: Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, and Tangibles. Customers use these five dimensions to form their judgements of service quality, which are based on a comparison between expected and perceived service. The intention of this thesis is to study on the effect of Service Quality upon the Customer Satisfaction in gas or oil station, based on SERVQUAL.

The paper analyzes the impact of EC and NAFTA integration upon Korea and other 3rd countries and studies policies how to react against them particularly in the field of aviation and tourism industry. Chapter 2 introduces the contents of each step and process of EC integration in the field of aviation and tourism industry. Chapter 3 analyzes the contents of integration and cooperation of NAFTA in the field of aviation and tourism industry. Chapter 4 studies the regulation or deregulation policy of EC and NAFTA toward the industry of non-EC and non-NAFTA area. Chapter 5 surveys and analyzes about the policies and strategies of Japan, ASEAN and the 3rd countries. Finally, Chapter 6 analyzes the impact on Korean aviation and tourism industry and proposes some suggestions on the future policy of Korea independently or in association with the neighboring countries such as Japan and China against the integration of EC and NAFTA.

It is expected that Korean restaurant business will become one of the most important contributors to the notion's economy by the year 2000. As the many visible and invisible trade barriers are tumbled down and market opening to foreign competition expedites, a strategy to solidify the competitiveness of the restaurant industry is urgently needed. Some of the strateges that need to sharpen the competity edge are as follows: 1. Development of restaurant business management knowhow and enhancement of information gathering capability. 2. Development of its own unique brand of food and service tailored to many different tastes of clientele. 3. Promotion of the industry's globalization efforts with the development of local restaurant brand & Korean traditional foods and with the expansion of foreign investment. 4. Reinforcement of staff training and provision of a compensation package to attract qualified personnel. 5. deregulation of many anachronistic laws and restrictions with government's full support for the industry to realize what it's supposed to be in the 21st century.

The nuclear power plant uses the steam which occurs from reactor and T/G the drive. By the T/G in consequence of the fact that the electricity which is produced the power and supplies in transmission system. But, recently the transmission and generation system are placed under deregulation situation from domestic and foreign, the maintenance control is difficult with the accident or the breakdown which relates is increasing. Hereupon, considering for effect to the reactor core against trip element which it does apply a probability concept from the NRC of the United States and it study and the recognition for the importance of the switchyard which is a power equipment which will be revaluated. Hereupon using the American example, the reliability establishment method which is suitable in domestic and it searches it does.

This paper presents the Improved Pre-prepared Power Demand (IPPD) table and Muller's method as a means of solving the Profit Based Unit Commitment (PBUC) problem. In a deregulated environment, generation companies (GENCOs) schedule their generators to maximize profits rather than to satisfy power demand. The PBUC problem is solved by the proposed approach in two stages. Initially, information concerning committed units is obtained by the IPPD table and then the subprob-lem of Economic Dispatch (ED) is solved using Muller's method. The proposed approach has been tested on a power system with 3 and 10 generating units. Simulation results of the proposed approach have been compared with existing methods and also with traditional unit commitment. It is observed from the simulation results that the proposed algorithm provides maximum profit with less computational time compared to existing methods.

전력시장의 효율적인 운영을 위한 전력산업 구조개편은 전 세계적으로 진행되고 있다. 우리나라의 경우 발전부문의 분할과 부분적인 경쟁의 도입되고 있다. 따라서 발전설비투자에 있어서 정부의 역할이 축소되고 점차 시장 기제 속에서 발전사업자 각각의 투자권한이 강해지고 있는 실정이다. 구조개편 이전에는 일반적으로 정부가 장기적인 전력 공급의 안정을 위해 전력공급계획을 수립하고, 독점회사인 한국전력공사가 이에 따른 발전설비투자를 시행하였다. 그러나 전력산업 구조개편 이후, 새로운 전력수급기본계획을 수립하였다. 이전과 가장 큰 차이는 발전사업자가 발전설비를 투자하는데 있어 자유롭게 사업계획을 세울 수 있게 되었다는 점이다. 본 논문에서는 발전분할 전후의 투자효율성을 비교하는 방법론을 제시하고, 그 프레임을 한국 전력시장에 적용시켜보았다.
