The efficiencies of thermal power system using fossil fuel depend on heat exchangers which extract energy from the exhaust gas before it is expelled to the atmosphere. To increase heat transfer efficiency it is very important to maintain the surface of heat exchanger as clean condition. The accepted skill of cleaning of fouled surface of heat exchanger is soot blowing. A high pressure jet of air is forced through the flat surface of plate to remove the deposit of fouling. There is, however, little knowledge of the fundamental principles of how the jet behave on the surface and how the jet actually removes the deposit. Therefore, the study focuses on the measuring of cleaning area and cleaning dwell time after accumulating the simulated deposit on the flat surface. The deposit test rig was built for the study and simulated deposit material is used after measuring the physical property of the each material by shearing stress test. Much data was obtained for the analysis by the parameters change such as the different jet speed, different inner pressure and variable distance of the jet from the test rig surface. The experimental data was compared with the theoretical equation and most of the data matches well except some extreme cases.

Legal deposit system is an essential tool for a national library to ensure the preservation and access to a nation's intellectual heritage over time. Substantial amounts of digital materials of national cultural value are already being published. There is a global trend towards extending legal deposit to cover digital materials in order to maintain comprehensive national archives. This paper gives a progress report of some countries around the world whose legal deposit laws have already updated or are under revision. Some strategies are suggested for the digital collection building of the Korean National Digital Library which will open in 2008.

The purpose of this study is to suggest guidelines for legal deposit process on online digital materials and use of the deposited materials both in National Digital Libraries and other places. At present, two Acts -- 'Act on Legal Deposit Process and Use of Online Digital Materials, ' 'Act on Partially Revised Library Law' -- are still pending in National Assembly. For the establishment of the guidelines in this study, advanced countries' legal deposit Acts in this area are searched and investigated. Also, in order to present various opinions from many parties immediately interested in the guidelines and Acts, survey, visitation, and consultancy methods are used.

This study suggests a reliable risk diagnosis system on the lease deposit, as one of main functions for a real estate information system. A previous system adopted a method where a user should input all required data and the program just performs a simple calculation to provide the results to users. Such a methodology makes a user feel uncomfortable and reduces the reliability for the risk diagnosis of the lease deposit. Therefore, the suggested method in this paper is to minimize the data input by users and to provide a proper sale price to users based on the existing raw data and the statistic court auction data. In addition to the risk diagnosis, it explains about some possible risk information and provides a way to control a risk so that a user can recognize any risk.

Previous analyses of deposit-refund systems (hereafter DRS) mosty concerned consumer-paid DRS. While there has been a trend to put more emphasis on the producers' responsibility in recycling, especilly in Europe, and the supplier-paid DRS has been enforced in Korea during the past decade, little attempt has been made to analyse rigorously the nature of the supplier-paid DRS. This paper looks into the effects of the supplier-paid DRS on firm behaviors and profits under the oligopolistic market structure. It is shown that, in the cournot model where firms strategically interact each other, when the deposit rate is high enough, firms' profit increase as the deposit rate rises. Furthermore, where the number of firms are sufficiently large, it can happen that, as the deposit rate increases, both social welfare and firms' profit improve.

This paper aims to seek for alternatives to improve the legal deposit system, one of the institutional devices, on the basis of reviewing the existing laws and regulations.

The legal deposit for the national library in all countries is the most important mean for acquiring the country's off-line and on-line publications. Because of many limitations of legal deposit system, however, the National Library of Korea does not properly collect the useful materials produced or manufactured in Korea. In order to solve this problem, the author analyzed the status of collection development by legal deposit and estimated the total amount of domestic publications. Based on the these results, author suggested five plans for strengthening the national collections in terms of the provisional 'deposit law', the further development and complementary of current legal deposit regulations (guidelines and standards), desirable amendments of the legal deposit provisions in library act, reasonable division of the deposit targets, and optimization strategies of acquisition scope by material types.

The wide open throttle performance and piston temperatures were measured by the change of fuel : gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas(LPG). Bench test method was developed and experimented to study the effect of temperature on the formation of carbon deposit. The bench test results were confirmed by measuring the piston temperature and observing the deposit production rate at an actual engine running condition. Results show that if the fuel of spark ignition engine is changed from gasoline to LPG, the output power decreases about 10% and the piston temperatures increase about 40~55$^{\circ}C$. In actual engine tests, because of this temperature increase, it was observed that the quantity of carbon deposit in the top ring groove increased in a big degree. Consuquently, it is known that the fing sticking may occur if the gasoline engine was rebuilt to LPG fuelled engine. Therefore, in order to preserve the durability of LPG fuelled engine, it is necessary to lower the piston temperature by hardware modificationor to reduce the carbon deposit by the improvement of engine oil.

Polychaetous community survey in Tomioka Bay was carried out 5 times seasonally from May 1991 to March 1992 by quantitative grab sampling (0.05m2) at 11 stations. Based on the granulometric composition and environmental factors, a homogeneous soft bottom was found in St.5-10. The species of the polychaete were classified into three feeding groups using the Fauchald and Jumars' feeding guild system. According to polychaetous community composition data, deposit feeders predominate in sandy silt area where the silt-clay content is $60-69.3\%.$ These deposit feeders were subdivided into surface deposit feeders and subsurface deposit feeders by their living position and mode. Also, suspension feeding group comes as the third dominant group. Seasonal changes of each feeding group were described in terms of numerical density and biomass. Feeding layer and types of dominant species (Lumbrineris longifolia: surface deposit feeder; Praxillella pacifica: subsurface deposit feeder; Chone duneri; suspension filter feeder, etc.) were examined in the intact sediment core samples. Also, longterm density change among the three dominant species during 10 years was disussed.

Result from Amendment of Apartment Houses Decree Customer Service, Recently, the starting point of Defects Liability changed "Criteria of Completion date" to "Delivery date to Divided property". Through the Law amended, There are some inconsistency between "Claim for repairing defects" and "Period of security deposit for repairing defects claim". If someone bought a house after Completion date, Purchasing period of "Claim to security deposit for repairing defects" lapsed without renewal. This research is to identify problems and solutions for improving the system.
