  • The rapid diffusion of the Internet and the World Wide Web is facilitating greater interaction - and potential opportunities for customization - between vendors and customers. For instance, virtual reality and multimedia technologies allow consumers to envision their designed products. The increasing pace of the business environment highlights the need to deploy intelligent systems in all stages of product design and production planning. This paper deals with a system to generate an appropriate product design by adapting customer preferences and constraints using the case based reasoning methodology. Moreover, intelligent agents are integrated with virtual reality technology to provide a friendly user interface.

  • A wireless sensor network is the combination of a large number of deployed sensors over an area. Communication between the sensors is the most important factor for a successful sensor network. It is mandatory that long distance and multi-hop communication will occur between sensors. Generally sensors relay the sensed data of a particular territory to the command center via a base station. For the non uniformed deployment of sensors many sensors may deploy in hostile areas surrounded by full of obstacles or in other condition it may be out of the direct communication range of the base station. It seems a critical problem for routing data to and from those sensors to the base station. This paper proposes a route management scheme using a dynamic load balancing approach based on residual energy of each agent sensors.

  • A collaboration supporting system, which enables multi-user collaboration and communication in Internet environment, is being a new indispensable tool to compete and collaborate with business peers. A collaboration supporting system in distributed environment requires scalable and open system architecture to rapidly deploy a new technology and trends. In this paper, we propose such a collaboration supporting system where communication API is using XML(Extended Markup Language)-based SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol)protocols, which Is independent on programming language and platform. In our system, server components are developed with EJB(Enterprise Java Beans). System analysis, design, and development are based on UML(Unified Modeling Language).

  • It is hot issue to get the competitiveness of product through reliability-growth as well as availability and safety in almost high-technology industry including military, chemistry, nuclear, telecommunication, transportation service and so on. In advanced countries, they experienced remarkable growth based on reliability technology in materials&parts industry as well as high-tech industry. It has become a symbol of national competitiveness and created a higher value added. This paper is taking on effectively developing ways to deploy IEC 60300 dependability management system and the base technology that are needed to improve competitiveness of industries in Korea.

  • A strategic national plan to control of zoonoses is currently somewhat insufficient. Government should extensively assign all case reports of zoonotic disease outbreaks and needs to control them in the context of other decrees. Additionally capacity of veterinarian needs to he increased to control zoonotic diseases efficiently. Namely, veterinarian is responsible for reporting to health authorities if any of zoonotic diseases are diagnosed. Furthermore, government should deploy the veterinarian's resources for prompt epidemiological investigation and for taking countermeasures against zoonotic diseases.

  • In Public Switched Telephone Networks(PSTN) number portability is implemented by utilizing Intelligent Network(IN) functions for number mapping. And voice over IP(VoIP) and IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS) networks can deploy number portability by using E.164 Number Mapping(ENUM). This paper discuss the possibility of using E.164 Number Mapping(ENUM) for number portability in voice over IP/IP Multimedia Subsystem and Public Switched Telephone Networks, eliminating the need for Number Portability Database(NPDB) for number portability routing data in Public Switched Telephone Networks.

  • WiBro(Mobile WiMAX) has gained momentum as a top candidate to deliver the dream of full mobile wireless internet. To save cost and time in WiBro network design, simulation tool has to deploy powerful and useful analysis functions. If path loss model is more accurate, the reliability of analysis result of simulation tool will be much improved. So we emphasize on the importance of pathloss model in WiBro network design in this paper. For this, we introduce to three kinds of pathloss models(SUI, SCM, SCM-E) supposed properly models in WiBro RF (Radio Frequency) environment. Also we treat from basic theory to practical substance on the pathloss model to adopt WiBro network design/optimization. Finally, we describe about wireless network analysis tool named 'CellPLAN(R)' and techniques possible to improvethe accuracy of pathloss model.

  • In this paper, we consider measurement allocation problem in a spatially correlated sensor field. Our goal is to determine the probability of each sensor's being measured based on its contribution to the estimation reliability; it is desirable that a sensor improving the estimation reliability is measured more frequently. We consider a spatial correlation model of a sensor field reflecting transmission power limit, noise in measurement and transmission channel, and channel attenuation. Then the estimation reliability is defined distortion error between event source and its estimation at sink. Motivated by the correlation nature, we model the measurement allocation problem into a cooperative game, and then quantify each sensor's contribution using Shapley value. Against the intractability in the computation of exact Shapley value, we deploy a randomized method that enables to compute the approximate Shapley value within a reasonable time. Besides, we envisage a measurement scheduling achieving the balance between network lifetime and estimation reliability.

  • Wide use of smart and high performing mobile device makes consumers use diverse distribution channels, composed of online and offline channel. Smart companies are trying to deploy omni channel. In order to successfully integrate these diverse channels, it is necessary to understand consumers' preference of channel choice. Thus, this study was focused on the influencing factors of channel preference such as price sensitivity, consumer innovativeness, time pressure, and need-for-touch. And this study compared these influencing factors between Korea and China, and drew meaningful message for e-commerce companies and offline distribution companies.
