영구치 치수 기질세포를 이용한 연골 분화 및 분화 시기에 따른 형태학적 변화 (Morphological evaluation during in vitro chondrogenesis of dental pulp stromal cells)

  • Objectives: The aim was to confirm the stem cell-like properties of the dental pulp stromal cells and to evaluate the morphologic changes during in vitro chondrogenesis. Materials and Methods: Stromal cells were outgrown from the dental pulp tissue of the premolars. Surface markers were investigated and cell proliferation rate was compared to other mesenchymal stem cells. Multipotency of the pulp cells was confirmed by inducing osteogenesis, adipogenesis and chondrogenesis. The morphologic changes in the chondrogenic pellet during the 21 day of induction were evaluated under light microscope and transmission electron microscope. TUNEL assay was used to evaluate apoptosis within the chondrogenic pellets. Results: Pulp cells were CD90, 105 positive and CD31, 34 negative. They showed similar proliferation rate to other stem cells. Pulp cells differentiated to osteogenic, adipogenic and chondrogenic tissues. During chondrogenesis, 3-dimensional pellet was created with multi-layers, hypertrophic chondrocyte-like cells and cartilage-like extracellular matrix. However, cell morphology became irregular and apoptotic cells were increased after 7 day of chondrogenic induction. Conclusions: Pulp cells indicated mesenchymal stem cell-like characteristics. During the in vitro chondrogenesis, cellular activity was superior during the earlier phase (within 7 day) of differentiation.

  • The radiation-induced apoptosis was studied for two human cancer cell lines (KB cells, RPMI 2650 cells) and the human gingival fibroblast cell line (HGF-1 cells). The single irradiation of 2, 10, 20Gy was done with 241.5 cGylmin dose rate using the /sup 137/Cs MK cell irradiator. The cells were stained with propidium iodide and examined under the fluoro-microscope and assayed with the flow cytometry a day after irradiation. Also, the LDH assay was done to determine the amount of necrotic cells. The obtained results were as follows: 1. On the fluoro-microscope, many fragmented nuclei were detected in the KB, RPMI 2650, and HGF-1 cells after irradiation. 2. On the DNA content histogram obtained from the flow cytometry, the percentages of the pre-Gl peak of the control and 2, 10 and 20Gy irradiation group were 4.5, 55.0, 52.3, and 66.6% on KB cells, 2.7, 3.3, 31.8, and 32.6% on RPMI 2650 cells and 2.8, 21.8, 30.4, and 40.2% on HGF-1 cells respectively. 3. The number of Gl-stage cells was abruptly decreased after 2Gy irradiation on KB cells and 10Gy irradiation on RPMI 2650 cells, But there was a slight decrease without regard to irradiation dose on HGF-1 cells. 4. There was no significantly different absorbance in extracellular LDH assay along the experimental cell lines.

  • These days, Dental Technic has been contributed to make more delicating Dental Prosthesis Restoration for patient and dentist. Diagnostic wax-up and making Temporary Crown are emphasized as an important part of Dental Technic. Choosing suitable Material and working with various new Equipments like Microscope improve accuracy. Repeated practice by setting up an organized system gives better result. Also, Esthetic Prosthesis requires patient's appearance and personality as well as patient' age, sex, and shade so on. Moreover, the problem which occurs by the patient's oral condition ha to be discussed before taking final impression. At a time like this, Scientific-mind and Logical thought Ability should be considered the important issue for more progressive Dental Technic.

치과용 3D 프린팅 시스템에 의해 출력된 보철물의 품질 평가 (An evaluation of quality of dental prostheses printed by dental 3-dimensional printing system)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study were to evaluate the quality of dental prostheses printed by 3-dimensional printing system. Methods: Mater model was prepared and ten study models were fabricated. Ten single crowns were printed by 3D-printing system(Resin group) and another ten single crowns using casting method were manufactured(Metal group). The marginal adaptation of single crowns were measured using by silicone replica technique. Silicone replicas were sectioned four times. The marginal adaptations were evaluated using by digital microscope. Statistical analyses were performed with Mann-Whitney test(${\alpha}=0.05$). Results: $Mean{\pm}standard$ deviations of all marginal adaptations were $92.1(20.0){\mu}m$ for Metal group and $69.7(12.3){\mu}m$ for Resin group. Two groups were no statistically significant differences(p>0.05). Conclusion: Marginal adaptation of single crowns printed by 3D-printing system were ranged within the clinical recommendation.

연마방법에 따른 복합레진의 활택도에 관한 연군 -Atomic Force Microscope를 이용한 연구 (A STUDY ON SURFACE ROUGHNESS OF COMPOSITE RESINS AFTER FINISHING AND POLISHING -an Atomic Force Microscope study)

  • This study was undertaken to compare by Atomic Force Microscope the effects of various finishing and polishing instruments on surface roughness of filling and veneering composite resins. Seven composite resins were studied : Silux Plus (3M Dental Products, U.S.A.), Charisma (Heraeus Kulzer, Germany), Prisma THP (L.D.Caulk, Dentsply, U.S.A.), Photoclearfil (Kuraray, Japan), Cesead (Kuraray, Japan), Thermoresin LC (GC, Japan), Artglass (Heraeus Kulzer, Germany). Samples were placed and polymerized in holes (2mm thick and 8.5mm in diameter) machined in Teflon mold under glass plate, ensuring excess of material and moulded to shape with polyester matrix strip. Except control group (Polyester matrix strip), all experimental groups were finished and polishied under manufacturer's instructions. The finishing and polishing procedure were : carbide bur (E.T carbide set 4159, Komet, Germany), diamond bur (composite resin polishing bur set, GC, Japan), aluminum-oxide disc (Sof-Lex Pop-On, 3M Dental Products, U.S.A.), diamond-particle disc (Dia-Finish, Renfert Germany), white stone bur & rubber point( composite finishing kit, EDENTA, Swiss), respectively. Each specimens were evaluated for the surface roughness with Atomic Force Microscope (AutoProbe CP, Park Scientific Instruments, U.S.A.) under contact mode and constant height mode. The results as follows : 1. Except Thermoresin LC, all experimental composite resin groups showed more rougher than control group after finishing and polishing(p<0.1). 2. A surface as smooth as control group was obtained by $Al_{2}O_{3}$ disc all filling composite resin groups except Charisma and all veneering composite resin groups except Thermoresin LC(p<0.05). 3. In case of Thermoresin LC, there were no statistically significant differences before and after finishing and polishing(p>0.1). 4. Carbide bur, diamond bur showed rough surfaces in all composite resin groups, so these were inappropriate for the final polishing instruments.

과도한 교정력에 의한 부분 치수괴사: 증례보고 (Partial pulp necrosis caused by excessive orthodontic force)

  • 치수는 견고한 치질에 의해 둘러싸여 있기 때문에 치수 혈류나 혈압의 변화는 치수건강에 심각한 위해를 입힐 수 있다. 여러연구에서 치아에 가해지는 교정력이 치수의 혈류 및 세포대사에 변화를 주어 퇴행성/염증성의 치수반응을 일으킬 수 있음이 밝혀졌다. 이 논문의 목적은 만성 치근단 농양을 가진 치아가 명확한 치수생활력 반응을 나타낸 증례에 대해 보고하는 것이다. 이는 치수가 부분적으로 괴사된 상태였기 때문이며 이것의 주 원인은 과도한 교정력인 것으로 판단된다. 남아있는 생활 치수 조직때문에 잘못된 진단이 이뤄지고, 이러한 경우 적절할 치료가 이뤄지지 않음에 따라 괴사조직이 지속적으로 치아주변조직을 파괴하게 될 수 있다. 임상가는 이러한 경우에 있어 여러 진단도구들을 활용하여 정확한 진단을 해야하며 근관-교정 간의 상호작용에 대해 숙지하고 있어야 할 것이다.

  • Microstructural phases of the dental amalgams have been studied by optical microscope, scanning electron microprobe and X-ray diffractometer. r1 ($Ag_2Hg_3$) phase and r2 ($Sn_{7-8}Hg$) phase are found on conventional compositioned alloys. On high copper single compositioned alloy, rl ($Ag_2Hg_3$) phase and V ($Cu_6Sn_5$) phase are found but brittle r2 ($Sn_(7-8)Hg$) phase.

치과용 CAD/CAM 전용 세라믹기반 하이브리드 레진 수복물의 변연 적합 연구 (A study on marginal fit of the ceramic-based hybrid resin restoration for dental CAD/CAM systems)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to assess and compare the marginal fit of ceramic-based hybrid resin restoration (HYB) and zirconia restoration (ZIR) for dental computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems. Methods: A stainless steel master model was produced. The impression was first made with silicone, and then stone working models were produced. A total of twenty restorations were fabricated with two different materials: ZIR and HYB. The silicone film thickness of the marginal gap was measured using a digital microscope; digital photos were taken at a magnification of ×160, and then analyzed using a measurement software. The values of the result were evaluated with the independent-sample t-test (α=0.05). All statistical analyses were performed with a statistical software. Results: The mean values for the marginal gap was 37.14±2.96 ㎛ for HYB, compared with 40.37±5.26 ㎛ for ZIR. No significant difference was found between ZIR and HYB (p=0.107). Conclusion: As a result, the marginal fit of the restoration fabricated using the hybrid resin was better than that of the restoration fabricated using zirconia. Also, the marginal fit of all groups was below the clinical acceptable range of 120 ㎛. Thus, HYB for dental CAD/CAM system in this study is expected to be suitable for clinical use in dentistry.

습식 분무 열분해 방법으로 제조한 코발트 도핑된 티타늄 산화막의 표면 및 광학적 특성 (Surface and Optical Characteristics of Cobalt Dopped-titanium Oxide Film Fabricated by Water Spray Pyrolysis Technique)

  • Titanium dioxide films $(TiO_2)$ doped cobalt transition metal were prepared on titanium metal by water spray pyrolysis technique. Micro-morphology, crystalline structure, chemical composition and binding state of sample groups were evaluated using field emission scanning microscope(FE-SEM), X-ray diffractometer(XRD), Raman spectrometer, X-ray photoelectron spectrometer(XPS). $TiO_2$ films of rutile structure were predominately formed on all sample groups and $Ti_2O_3$ oxide was coexisted on the surface of cobalt doped-sample groups. The optical absorption peaks measured by using UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer were observed at specific wavelength region in sample groups doped cobalt ion. This result could be analyzed by introducing crystal field theory.

  • I. Objectives Newly-designed method was evaluated to measure the linear polymerization shrinkage of light-cured resin composites. II. Materials and Methods A resin composite(Clearfil AP-X, Kuraray, Japan) was filled into a vinyl-polysiloxan mold(1 to 8mm-depth, and 7mm-diameter). As indicators, 4 beads(Retention Beads 2 SS, GC, Japan;particle size $200{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$) were placed diagonally on the resin surface of a mold. The coordinates (x, y, z, pasition) of each indicator were measrued by a measuring-microscope after which the resin surface was irradiated by a curing-light source(Optilux 500, Demetron/Kerr, USA) for 40 sec. After 20 sec the coordinates were again measured.(omitted)
