Design of Digital Controllers with Self-Validating Intelligent Sensors (Self-Validating 지능형 센서를 사용한 디지털 제어기의 설계)

  • We are concerned with processing methods of the measurement values of sensors in the control system. When some faults happen to sensor components, the measurement value of sensors cause the malfunction of the plant. So it is necessary to detect and reduce the influence of faults to control with reliability for the overall system. The sensor status must be always good for best demonstration of the controller performance. A self-validating sensor detects the sensor state from the measurement value, reconstruct a soft sensor and can improve reliability of the sensor. If sensor faults, the sensor is detected and reconstructed with the best estimate from its correlation to other sensors and historical data. It is applied to the control of a flexible link system with the sensor fault problems in the light sensor module for position to show the applicability. In this paper, we propose a digital controller which reduces deflection of the moving set-point by reconstructing output of a sensor when the sensor fault is detected.

우리나라의 열펌프 기술이용에 관한 전망(I)

  • 에너지 절약 장치로서 Heat pump 기술은 선진 각국에서 70년대 이후 관심 깊게 연구개발을 계속하고 있으며 지금도 보일러-열펌프 닥킹시스템(boiler-heat pump docking system), 과 성능 열펌프시스템(super efficient heat pump system)등 더욱 성능이 우수한 장치 연구를 위하여 박 차를 가하고 있다. 외국의 경우 현재 공조용으로 사용되고 있는 열펌프는 원래 냉동기 기술을 기초로 하여 개발하였기 때문에 낮은 온도의 열원에서부터 60.deg. C 정도까지의 온수를 제조 하는 것은 기술적으로 충분하다. 이를 일반 산업용으로 하기 위하여 보다 더 높은 온도의 열을 공급하기 위해서는 새로운 연구가 활발하게 전개되어 왔다. 그 결과 저온배열을 100.deg. C 내 외로 올리는 기술이 개발되고 이의 응용 예가 많으며 구미 각국에서는 정부의 지원을 얻어 실 습플렌트(demonstration plant)가 다수 설립되고 있다. 이하 각장에서는 열펌프 기술의 국제적인 동향과 우리나라의 현실, 보급장애요인 그리고 장래전망을 기술하고 또 열펌프의 보급확대 방 안을 논술하고자 한다.

Study on Operation Characteristics of Waste Tire Pyrolysis Demonstration Plant with Moving Disk Tube Reactor System (디스크 이동식 폐타이어 열분해 실증 설비의 운전 특성 고찰)

  • 본 연구에서는 디스크 이동식 폐타이어 열분해 실증 설비(10톤/일)를 설계, 제작 그리고 시운전을 통하여 열분해 설비의 안정적인 연속 운전이 가능함을 확인하였다. 시운전 결과 반응기 내부 온도는 $500{\sim}600^{\circ}C$, 내부 압력은 $-80{\sim}-100mmHg$, 체류시간은 $60{\sim}90min$ 범위에서 안정적인 열분해가 일어났다. 또한 이번 과제 수행을 통해NC 가스의 연소기를 개발 적용하여 NC 가스의 열분해 열원으로 사용 가능성을 확인하였으며, NC 가스 연소 시 대기 측정을 통하여 규제치도 만족함을 확인할 수 있었다. 지금까지 나온 결과는 장기 연속 운전과 scale-up을 위한 기초 자료가 될 것이다.

A Development Study on High Quality Drinking Water Production by the Biological Activated Carbon/immersed Membrane Filtration System

  • Advanced drinking water production systems, which not only good quality product water, but also provide easy management and mainenance of facilities, and operate on a smaller site area, have been expected to be developed for some time. We are going ahead with a program to deveop an advanced drinking water production system, using immersed membrane filtration combined with biological activated carbon, to meet the need described above. The demonstration plant tests been conducted with surface water from the Yodo-river since Dec. 1998 to measure treatment performance, reliability, and controllability of the system. The quality of product water has consistently remained at a very high level for about 2 years under controlled conditions. Results showed that the re-circulation granular biological activated carbon could suppress the increase of membrane pressure difference and promote a reduction of dissolved organic matter.   • This paper examines Japan's Science and Technology (S&T) Basic Plans in accordance with its S&T Basic Law. The Basic Plans promote two major innovation (Green Innovation and Life Innovation) towards the creation of new markets and jobs, specifically under the Fourth S&T Basic Plan enacted on August 2011. Successful smart community demonstration projects at four urban localities were launched under plans to promote Green Innovation research and development of renewable energy technologies. However, the expectation that renewable energy such as solar or wind power can replace nuclear power is not backed by sufficient evidence. Furthermore, the electricity produced by these sources is expensive and unstable owing to its reliance on weather conditions. The Fukushima nuclear power plant accident on March 2011 has also seriously affected Japan's future energy plans. According to a government estimate, electricity charges would double if nuclear power generation were abandoned, imposing a heavy burden on the Japanese economy. Japan is in need of energy policies designed on the basis of more far-sighted initiatives.

  • US NRC issued rulemaking of 10CFR50.55a to perform the Perservice and Inservice inspection for Reactor Vessel Head Penetration Nozzle of US Nuclaer plant. The rulemaking was required the EPRI Demonstration to verify the NDE technique performing special Ultrasonic examination. In order to meet this requirement, the UT and ECT procedures was demonstrated and the NDE personnel were qualified by EPRI. In this paper, the NDE technique and analysis method are described the Preservice inspection for the Palo Verde #1/2/3 Replacement Reactor Vessel Head Penetration Nozzle using the qualified procedures and personnel.

  • Sliding control is a powerful approach to controlling nonlinear and uncertain systems. Conventional sliding mode control suffer' from high control gain and chattering problem. also it needs mathematic! modeling equations for control systems. A Fuzzy controller is endowed with control rules and membership function that are constructed on the knowledge of expert, as like intuition and experience. but It is very difficult to obtain the exact values which are the membership function and consequent parameters. In this paper, without mathematical modeling equations, the plant parameters in sliding mode are estimated by the indirect adaptive fuzzy method. the proposed algorithm could analyze the system's stability and convergence behavior using Lyapunov theory. so sliding modes are reconstructed and decreased tracking error. moreover convergence time took a short. An example of inverted pendulum is given for demonstration of the robustness of proposed methodology.

  • Numerous pipe lines can be found on various plant-based industrial sites. These pipelines should be periodically checked for defects. Most of these pipelines are internally inaccessible and difficult to visually inspect. Therefore, the inspection is being carried out with the help of non-contact inspection equipment such as ultrasonic flaw detection equipment. The use of ultrasonic flaw detection equipment can raise time and efficiency issues. In order to solve this problem, we will study the basic technology necessary for the development of automated inspection system equipped with ultrasonic measuring equipment and verify the validity through the fabrication of the demonstration device.

  • The trends of plant-related teaching and learning of elementary and secondary schools were presented in this paper. The textbooks of other subject matters except biology were analyzed for their plant-related learning contents. It was suggested that interconnection exists between biology and other subjects in the relations with plant-related learning materials. A total of 331 books were analyzed from 143 elementary schools, 117 middle schools and 71 high schools. 1. Among the learning materials, 264 species of plant were presented in elementary schools textbooks, 295 in middle schools, and 283 in high schools. Other subjcets had more various plants than biology. 2. Korean language, social study and home ecology had more plant materials than other subjects with not only simple citation but scientific concepts and inquiry activities. As this plant-related materials is considerable for school education and science curriculum. 3. The available plants in daily life - resource plants, edible plants, demonstration plants and engineering-related plants - were cited in other subjects. Interconnection of plant-related materials with biology and other subjects will provide basis of STS education and subject integration.

A Study on the Demonstration of Yellow Plume Elimination System from Combined Cycle Power Plant Using Liquid Injection System (액상 직분사 시스템을 이용한 복합화력 황연제거 실증 연구)

  • Combined cycle power plants (CCPP) that use natural gas as fuel are easier to start and stop, and have lower pollutant emissions, so their share of domestic power generation facilities is steadily increasing. However, CCPP have a high concentration of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) emission in the initial start-up and low-load operation region, which causes yellow plume and civil complaints. As a control technology, the yellow plume reduction system was developed and operated from the mid-2000s. However, this technology was unable to control the phenomenon due to insufficient preheating of the vaporization system for 10 to 20 minutes of the initial start-up. In this study, CFD analysis and demonstration tests were performed to derive a control technology by injecting a reducing agent directly into the gas turbine exhaust duct. CFD analysis was performed by classifying into 5 cases according to the exhaust gas condition. The RMS values of all cases were less than 15%, showing a good mixing. Based on this, the installation and testing of the demonstration facilities facilitated complete control of the yellow plume phenomenon in the initial start-up.
