In Korea, engineering education based on industry demand is highly emphasized; the survey of industry demand or company satisfaction is frequently conducted. Although engineering schools have often attempted and implemented the reform of engineering education, it was found that company satisfaction with college education was always low. In this context, this study aimed to find the cause of the low satisfaction. To this end, the social background for the active survey of industry demand and company satisfaction, and its progress were investigated. The findings of this study showed that the survey of industry demand in Korea has limitations in improving the quality of college education or developing its future demand, contrary to its intention. This industry demand based approach has its historical and social root in the Korea-specific model of the catching-up style industry development and technology innovation. Therefore, it is difficult to establish appropriate academy-industry relations and discover future vision based on this model. This study presents a new way to understand and develop the future-oriented industrial and social demand, not just arguing for the uselessness of the survey of industry demand in engineering education.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide implications for National Curriculum design for elementary and secondary school, by analyzing social indices of students' real life based on Oliva's three types of demand for education. Three types of demand are physical, social-psychological and educational demand. Methods: This study mainly analyzed recent research data and existing studies relevant to social indices to show students' real life. Results: Three types of social indices about educational demand showed that students have many difficulties in much learning time, lacking in sleeping time and physical activities, much stress and suicide attempt. It is supposed that learning and academic achievement is the main factor to make such kind of stress. Conclusion: Health & safety education, self-esteem inspiring education, reduction of learning burden, physical activities etc are needed to be more reflected in National Curriculum design in the future.

This study aims to derive suggestions to help develop Hanbok education in the future by examining its current status in domestic educational institutions in light of rising social demand for Hanbok in the era of fashion Hanbok. We assessed the Hanbok curriculum in educational institutions nationwide, including universities and specialized institutes, and conducted in-depth interviews to understand the operational status of Hanbok-specialized education. We found that the demand for education on production functions is decreasing, while the demand for in-depth education on the history of Korean costume and education integrating Hanbok with design and marketing is increasing. We also found that, in the case of universities, which play an important role in Hanbok research and education, professional research and training are shrinking in graduate schools, whereas Hanbok subjects are being maintained and new subjects are being taught in undergraduate courses. In the fashion Hanbok era, it has been suggested that Hanbok education needs to converge with design and marketing education, beyond teaching only Hanbok. In addition, the necessity of expanding liberal arts education within universities to meet social demand was proposed, and online education was expected to help spread knowledge.
Social security is concerned with ensuring all citizens maintain basic needs, community health nursing maintains and promotes health for all community members. Lately, This new area of community health nursing, concern social welfare has increased. The objectives of this study are, first, to analysis the activities of nurses at community social welfare institutes, second, to estimate nursing demand for social welfare areas. The study methods used were as literature review, an analysis of statistical data and case study etc. The analytical framework also included a demand analysis of nursing manpower in community social welfare areas. The major results are as follows; 1. Employees which work at social welfare institutes number 55,464, nursing manpower (including nurse aids) number 1,458 and this is 3% of the total employees. Within nursing manpower, nurses number 780, nurse aids number 670. 2. The rates of nurses among total employees were high in institutes for mental disorders and institutes for the age. 3. The salary level of nurses was lower than average and the rates of retirement showed a roughly middle level in welfare institutes. 4. The satisfaction level of nursing services was high, and it is the trend that nurses substitute for nurse aids which retire at social welfare institutes. 5. Nurse demand that follows legal criteria is 2,221, but only 35% are working. It is therefore insufficient from the minimum of 733 to a maximum 1433. 6. The sufficiency rates by institution were high at institutes for vagrants, aged and the handicapped. In conclusion, the conditions are of nurses which are working in with the social welfare institutes are poor. Also the number of nurses compared rates of demand were in surplus. But, the basic direction of welfare policy is universal-preventive and provision of the family and of community centered service, and nursing service demand in the social welfare institute will increase continuously, we predict. Therefore, we will need a positive plan such as the development of an inservice education program and the construction of an information collection system etc.
This study aims to analyze the changes of goals and contents of middle school geography education following up the changes in the Korean social studies curriculum over time. The main findings are as follows. First, From the Syllabus period to the Third Curriculum, geography education, history education, general social studies education in the middle school social studies were directed and managed independently. However from the 4th to the 7th Curriculum, the demand for the virtual integration in middle school social studies increased sharply. Since 2009 revision, social studies suffered an identity crisis as integrated subject matter because history education was separated from the social studies and interdisciplinary units were abolished. In spite of much criticism, however, an odd form of social studies integrating geography and general social studies still remains. Second, the stronger the demand for the social studies integration in middle school, students' social studies learning load had become heavier due to severe competition with other areas to ensure more portion in the integrated structure of social studies. Since geography education did not reflect the new tendency of the geography in the integrated structure of middle school social studies, the gap between the geography and geography education has increased and knowledges of geography growing became separated from students' experience. In conclusion, the integrated structure of social studies in the middle school hindered the geography education development as it limited the autonomy of geography education in terms of curriculum development.

Method: The data was established by using structured questionnaires for 102 nursing families of cerebrovascular accident patient at three university hospitals. Result: 1) The total burden was showed to be at 3.21, which was some what higher than average. Total average of demand for nursing home was at 3.30, which was higher than average. 2) This showed static correlations between the economic, social, physical dependent and psychological burden, and demand for nursing home. The result represents that the higher burden showed a significantly positive correlation to the higher demand for nursing home. Conclusion: If a systemic support of nursing home is prepared the differentiated nursing home matched perfectly on each burden, the burden on a family of the patient can be decreased effectively.
The expectation and importance for the key competencies education in the university have been greater. Although there have been many various efforts of the university for its social accountability that it should cultivate the qualified person company requires, there is a bit gap between the university education and social demand. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and demand of students and teachers to the key competencies and then offer a help to develop and operate strategies with which university education can be prepared for the demand of teachers, students and society. In this study, questionnaires on the perception and demand to the key competencies education were developed and responded by 475 students and 58 professors as a subject of this study. The results were analysed using multiple response frequency analysis, cross analysis and t-test. Also the statistical level of significance was set at p<.05 by using SPSS 12.0 for Windows. The results suggested that there were significant differences between the perception and demand of teachers and students to the key competencies education, particularly to the items questioning the degree of difficulty in preparing for future employment, the most important resource from which they can obtain aids, the degree of efforts they put for the key competencies development and employment, and the main factors for the key competencies development and employment. We can expect to offer an implication for the university education based on perception and demand of teachers and students to the key competencies.
Consumer Education Policy for -Focusing on developing Social support System- The purpose of this research is to understand the change of future consuming environment and the characteristics of future potential consumer: the net generations. With those research results, we deduced our goal, content and method of consumer education for these net generations. Finally, I suggested a scheme of the social construction by demand of our future society. Literature review and depth interview are used for this research. The main factors of the change of our future consuming environment are Digitalization, globalization, improvement of consumer sovereignty, Sustainable consumption culture, the increasing pursuit of safe life. It is necessary to educate our future consumer, net generations, the information searching skills in order to be able to obtain right information. We also need to educate them how to practice the safe life and Sustainable consumption and how to get consumers sovereignty. The method of the education requires interchangeable communication. We need social networking system for the support of consumer education, in order to build this social system. We need an administrative support from the government and financial support from corporations. We have suggested that it is very desirable to share all the information developed among Academic field, Consumer related organizations and schools by this network be build.
Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) has been the biggest environmental problem in Korea since the 2010s. The present study considers the value of urban forests and green infrastructure as an ecosystem service (ES) concept for PM2.5 reduction based on satellite and spatial data, with a focus on Seoul, Korea A method for the spatial ES assessment that considers social demand variables such as population and land price is suggested. First, an ES assessment based on natural environment information confirms that, while the vitality of vegetation is relatively low, the ES is high in the city center and residential areas, where the concentration of PM2.5 is high. Then, the ES assessment considering social demand (i.e., the ESS) confirms the existence of higher PM2.5 values in residential areas with high population density, and in main downtown areas. This is because the ESS of urban green infrastructure is high in areas with high land prices, high population density, and above-average PM2.5 concentrations. Further, when a future green infrastructure improvement scenario that considers the urban forest management plan is applied, the area of very high ESS is increased by 74% when the vegetation greenness of the green infrastructure in the residential area is increased by only 20%. This result suggests that green infrastructure and urban forests in the residential area should be continuously expanded and managed in order to maximize the PM2.5 reduction ES.
