  • This paper presents a decision support system (DSS) for selecting the best delivery policy at an internet general shopping mall with its own distribution center and many outside enterprises linked up with the mall. The DSS provides the decision maker with the performance information of three delivery policies (individual delivery, collective delivery, mixed delivery) for the given service level, customer order pattern, direct/indirect delivery ratio, unit costs of various delivery modes, upper level of goods characteristic index for collective delivery poller, etc. Furthermore, the DSS allows the decision maker to perform the sensitivity analyses of three delivery policies for their major parameters and unit costs of delivery modes. The DSS is developed with AweSim simulation 1anguage and Visual Basic programming 1anguage.

  • Purpose: This research aims to analyze the service process of corporate courier services in order to offer service providers possible directions for adaptation of new technologies and assurance of better quality services. Methods: Through the analysis on the parcel service process of company Y by applying service blueprinting method, the overall process and failure service points of corporate courier services can be recognized and investigated. Next, the several newer technologies, augmented reality glasses, exoskeleton, and drone are applied to the service process of company Y as they are suggested by the literature review and referenced to DHL's report on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Then, service options to overcome the service failure points to improve the service process can be produced. Results: The parcel service process of the company Y is utilized as a hub-and-spoke structure by having distribution and delivery centers which separates customers into two types, ones using the total services and the others only using the delivery service. In addition, the main cause of the service failures is determined that it is due to the limited working hours of delivery centers compared to the workload. Conclusion: This research contributes in better understanding of corporate courier services and providing information for benchmarking. An empirical research on the costs and the efficiencies of applying the new technologies is suggested for the further improvement in the processes of corporate courier services.

Therefore, the service quality of information system department should be considered as a very important factor influencing success of information systems. The objective of this study is to provide the relationship between service quality of IS department and its impacts such as use, user satisfaction and job performance. For this purpose, we provide a research model for it and test it empirically for the users of the corporate portal in one of main telecommunication service providers in Korea. In result, our model with satisfiable validity and reliability shows not only importance of IS departments' service quality but also two-faced characteristics of service quality. That is, while technical competence which means with knowledge and expertise of IS department staffs is more related with user satisfaction on information systems, personal service which means the way and manner of service delivery is more related with use of it.

  • According to software growth, also software maintenance has been continuously improving. In addition, the existing concept of software maintenance process demands operational management and improvement of service task. However, when we perform maintenance task, we have several constraints about applying service based requirement to system. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, we need a study of task of process for service based maintenance. In this paper, we propose a Service based Software Maintenance Process. Proposed process based on MaRMI-RE standard for software development and maintenance and compares it with the service based representative standards. In a related works, we study activity of ITIL and identify activities and tasks for maintenance. After this, identified activities and tasks compare with activities of MaRMI-RE. And then, we derive activities and tasks of a Service based Software Maintenance Process. Finally, we validate a result by comparing the proposed process with a general service operational process.

  • Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(KISTI) provides domestic researchers with science and technology information through NDSL Information Document Service(NIDS) network to improve research productivity in Korea. University libraries and information centers of research institutes are playing a major role in the NIDS collaboration network. In this study, we examined the relationship among the participating organizations for document delivery service using the social network analysis(SNA) method. Centrality of each organization in the NIDS network was analyzed with the indexes such as degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality, and eigenvector centrality. The research results show that KISTI, KAIST, POSTECH, and FRIC are located at the center of the NIDS network. Based on the research results, this paper suggests several directions for improvement of document delivery service.

  • Purpose/Design The purpose of this study is summarized as follows. First, we want to derive the quality dimension of the delivery app services based on the experience of the users of the delivery app. Second, we would like to identify the continuous intention to use, taking into account the integrated nature of online and offline quality. Third, the online and offline quality factors of the delivery app services shall be checked in an exploratory manner to see how they affect perceived value, satisfaction, and continuous intention to use. In order to demonstrate the purpose of this study, a self-report survey was conducted in which respondents directly responded. A questionnaire of 295 people was identified as a valid sample and used for the final analysis. Findings The summary of the hypothesis test results is as follows. First, the system quality among the online characteristics does not have a significant impact on both perceived values and user satisfaction. Second, the hypothesis that information quality affects satisfaction and perceived value was adopted. Third, the service quality was shown to be a significant factor affecting perceived value and satisfaction. Fourth, the delivery quality among offline characteristics was found to have no significant effect on perceived value and satisfaction. Fifth, the hypothesis test of commodity quality showed that both perceived value and satisfaction had a significant impact. Sixth, satisfaction in the delivery app service showed a positive effect on the continuous intention to use.
