This paper discusses the increasing need for autonomous delivery robots due to the current growth in the delivery market, rising delivery fees, high costs of hiring delivery personnel, and the need for contactless services. Additionally, the cost of hardware and complex software systems required to build and operate autonomous delivery robots is high. To provide a low-cost alternative to this, this paper proposes a autonomous delivery robot platform using a low-cost sensor combination of 2D LIDAR, depth camera and tracking camera to replace the existing expensive 3D LIDAR. The proposed robot was developed using the RTAB-Map SLAM open source package for 2D mapping and overcomes the limitations of low-cost sensors by using the convex hull algorithm. The paper details the hardware and software configuration of the robot and presents the results of driving experiments. The proposed platform has significant potential for various industries, including the delivery and other industries.

In this paper, proposes a delivery robot that can be autonomous driving learning. The proposed robot is designed to be used in park-type apartments without ground parking facilities. Compared to the existing apartments with complex ground and underground routes, park-type apartments have a standardized movement path, allowing the robot to run stably, making it suitable for students' initial education environment. The delivery robot is configured to enable delivery of parcels through machine learning technology for route learning and autonomous driving using cameras and LiDAR sensors. In addition, the control MCU was designed by separating it into three parts to enable learning by level, and it was confirmed that it can be used as a delivery robot for learning through operation tests such as autonomous driving and obstacle recognition. In the future, we plan to develop it into an educational delivery robot for various delivery services by linking with the precision indoor location information recognition technology and the public technology platform of the apartment.

Recently, robots have been actively utilized for logistics and delivery services in various places such as restaurants, hotels, and hospitals. In addition, it provides a safer environment, convenience, and cost efficiency to the customers. However, when it comes to autonomous delivery in a multi-floor environment, the task is still challenging. Especially for wheeled mobile robots, it is necessary to deal with elevators to perform the last-mile delivery services. Therefore, we present a multi-floor route planning algorithm that enables a wheeled mobile robot to traverse an elevator for the delivery service. In addition, an elevator boarding mission algorithm was developed to perceive the drivable region within the elevator and generate a feasible path that is collision-free. The algorithm was tested with real-world experiments and was demonstrated to perform autonomous postal delivery service in a multi-floor building. We concluded that our study could contribute to building a stable autonomous driving robot system for a multi-floor environment.

In this paper, we propose the delivery problem on trees and two algorithms for the problem. The delivery problem on trees is that of minimizing the object delivery time from one node to another node using n various speed robots. Our first algorithm generates an optimal solution with some restrictions in handover places. In this algorithm, we assume that the handover can be made at a vertex of given tree. We try to find the handover places and the robots participate in handover from the start node to the destination node. The second algorithm extends the first one to remove the restriction about the handover places. The second algorithm still generates an optimal solution. The time complexities of both algorithms are $O((n+m)^2)$ where n is the number of robots and m is the number of nodes.
Autonomous delivery operation data is the key to driving a paradigm shift for last-mile delivery in the Corona era. To bridge the technological gap between domestic autonomous delivery robots and overseas technology-leading countries, large-scale data collection and verification that can be used for artificial intelligence training is required as the top priority. Therefore, overseas technology-leading countries are contributing to verification and technological development by opening AI training data in public data that anyone can use. In this paper, 326 objects were collected to trainn autonomous delivery robots, and artificial intelligence models such as Mask r-CNN and Yolo v3 were trained and verified. In addition, the two models were compared based on comparison and the elements required for future autonomous delivery robot research were considered.

As flying robots are becoming popular, there are increased needs to use themforsuch purposes as parcel delivery, serving in restaurants, and stage performances. To control flying robots such as quad copters, localization is essential. In order to properly position flying robots, many techniques are in development, including IR (infra-red)-based systemswhich catch markers on a flying robot in order that it can position itself. However, this technique demonstrates only short coverage. Furthermore, localization from inertial sensors diverges as time passes. For this reason, this paper suggests a TWR (two-way ranging) based positioning technique. Despite the weaknesses in currently available TWR system, this paper suggests a self-positioning and outlier detection technique in order to provide reliable position information with a faster update rate. The self-positioning system sends a shorter message which reduces wireless traffic. By detecting and removing outlier measurements, a positioning result with better accuracy is acquired. Finally, this paper shows that the suggesting system detects outlierssequentially from less than half the number of anchors in localization system according to the degree of outlier in measurement and the noise level. By performing an outlier algorithm, better positioning accuracy is acquired as shown in the experimental result.

This paper introduces the development of a range sensor based integrated navigation system for a multi-functional indoor service robot, called PSR (Public Service Robot System). The proposed navigation system includes hardware integration for sensors and actuators, the development of crucial navigation algorithms like mapping, localization, and path planning, and planning scheme such as error/fault handling. Major advantages of the proposed system are as follows: 1) A range sensor based generalized navigation system. 2) No need for the modification of environments. 3) Intelligent navigation-related components. 4) Framework supporting the selection of multiple behaviors and error/fault handling schemes. Experimental results are presented in order to show the feasibility of the proposed navigation system. The result of this research has been successfully applied to our three service robots in a variety of task domains including a delivery, a patrol, a guide, and a floor cleaning task.

Today, with the development of the Internet and mobile technology, consumers' purchasing patterns have shifted from offline to online. In addition, due to the recent COVID-19, online purchases have significantly increased, and accordingly, the courier industry for logistics delivery has also grown significantly. Various logistics robots are being operated in many industrial and can reduce the labor intensity and physical and mental fatigue of workers. However, if the logistics robot does not properly recognize the people or environment around it, it can lead to a serious accident. We conducted that how logistics robots can perform safe work in a working environment such as a logistics warehouse through the application of ISO/DIS 21448 (SOTIF) to autonomous logistics transport robots. This result is expected to contribute to the operation of unmanned logistics warehouses using AGV.

This study attempted to propose various application and function improvement plans by analyzing robots operated in the libraries. Thus, the types and functions of robots operated by 16 domestic and foreign libraries were examined. Most of them were used for Librarian Assistance (Book Inventory, Book Delivery, Etc.) and User Service (Facility Guide, Search Aids, Etc.). Besides, the introduction of robots in the National Library of Korea (NLK) and their functional limitations were analyzed. As a result, this study presented the need to develop additional functions for the robot, develop quarantine and security robots, the need for a national-level policy for robot diffusion, and build a robot ecosystem.
