  • In this paper, we compare the quality of images reconstructed by a conventional delayed-sum (DS) algorithm and radiation pattern-based DS algorithm. In order to evaluate the quality of images, we apply the target-to-clutter ratio (TCR), which is commonly used in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image assessment. The radiation pattern-based DS algorithm enhances the TCR of the image by focusing the target signals and preventing contamination of the radar scene. We first consider synthetic data obtained through GprMax2D/3D, a finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) forward solver. Experimental data of a 2-GHz bandwidth stepped-frequency signal are collected using a vector network analyzer (VNA) in an anechoic chamber setup. The radiation pattern-based DS algorithm shows a 6.7-dB higher TCR compared to the conventional DS algorithm.

  • Active control of acoustic noise is an application area of adaptive digital signal processing with increasingly interest along the last year. This work studies the implementation of the multichannel LMS filter and the application of this algorithm for the reduction of the noise inside a vechicle cabin using a number of 'secondary sources' drived by adaptive filtering of a reference noise source. Firstly, we propose the use of an adaptive method for the time-varient optimal convergence factor. Secondly, we propose the use of adaptive delayed inverse model to estimate the elastic-acoustic transfer function presented in vechicle cabin. The original, primary source is often periodic, with a known fundamental frequency. A suitably filtered reference signal can thus be used to drive the secondary sources. An algorithm is presented for adapting the coefficients of an FIR filter feeding such a secondary source in such a way as to minimize the output of a suitably placed microphone. In this algorithm, the coefficients of adaptive filter driving an array of secondary sources can be adapted to minimize the sum of the squares of the outputs of a number of error microphones. The multichannel LMS algorithm displays that such an algorithm is considered suitable to used for the global suppression of noise in vehicle cabin.

  • A jamming design scheme to disturb target position estimation of a bistatic multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) radar system is presented. The proposed method exploits the received signals from distributed multiple electronic sensors and combines them to produce a jamming signal. The proposed algorithm can eliminate the target by transmitting the delayed sum or the weighted sum of the received senor signals. Simulation results confirm the performance of the proposed method.

  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) provides location information using signals from multiple satellites. However, a spoofing attack that forges signals or retransmits delayed signals may cause errors in the location information. To prevent such attacks, authentication protocols considering the navigation message structure of each GNSS can be used. In this paper, we analyze the authentication protocols of Global Positioning System (GPS), Galileo, and BeiDou, and compare the performance of Navigation Message Authentication (NMA) of the above systems, using several performance indicators. According to our analysis, authentication protocols are similar in terms of performing NMA and using Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA). On the other hand, they are different in several ways, for example, whether to perform Spreading Code Authentication (SCA), whether to use digital certificates and whether to use Timed Efficient Stream Loss-tolerant Authentication (TESLA). According to our quantitative analysis, the authentication protocol of Galileo has the shortest time between authentications and time to first authenticated fix. We also show that the larger the sum of the navigation message bits and authentication bits, the more severely affected are the time between authentications and the time to first authenticated fix.

  • We present an ATM switch architectures based on the multistage interconnection network(MIN) for the efficient multicast traffic control. Many of these applications require multicast connections as well as point-to-point connections. Muiticast connection in which the same message is delivered from a source to arbitrary number of destinations is fundamental in the areas such as teleconferencing, VOD(video on demand), distributed data processing, etc. In designing the multicast ATM switches to support those services, we should consider the fairness(impartiality) and priority control, in addition to the overflow problem, cell processing with large number of copies, and the blocking problem. In particular, the fairness problem which is to distribute the incoming cells to input ports smoothly is occurred when a cell with the large copy number enters upper input port. In this case, the upper input port sends before the lower input port because of the calculating method of running sum, and therefore cell arrived into lower input port Is delayed to next cycle to be sent and transmission delay time becomes longer. In this paper, we propose the cell splitting and group splitting algorithm, and also the fairness scheme on the basis of the nonblocking characteristics for issuing appropriate copy number depending on the number of Input cell in demand. We evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes in terms of the throughput, cell loss rate and cell delay.
