GEOMETRIC COREGISTRATION FOR TERRASAR-X INTERFEROMETRY

  • The German radar satellite TerraSAR was launched in 2007. In this study, interferogram is generated using TerraSAR-X data and DEM (Digital Elevation Model). Coregistration procedures used with SAR images (i.e. master and slave) in traditional method results in serious errors for high resolution TerraSARX data because of the mutual shift of the master and slave images due to topography. This error becomes more serious in mountainous areas in which the coherence between interferometric pairs is relatively low. Here we processed a geometric coregistration with DEM exploiting height information. Through the method, interferometry processing is fulfilled to generate a qualified interferogram and coherence is improved. This approach will help high resolution X-band SAR interferometry in mountainous area.

  • The territorial air that our sovereignty is being applied to is divided into several zones and areas. In order to use and manage them effectively, these zones and areas have laws, regulations and rules. The number of airspaces (MOA : Military Operation Area) and Ranges that are used in the military are limited and many airbases are being used for training. Currently the central department manages some, and the rest are independent airbases. Therefore, efficient allocation is not performed and the result occurs where airspaces and ranges are allocated unnecessarily. This is increasing the workload of staff leading to unnecessary re-work. To slove problem, this study proposed models for allocating airspaces and ranges using goal programming with multi-objective functions of minimizing the deviations of the target values.

서비스 시간대별 교통상황을 고려한 차량경로문제 (A Vehicle Routing Problem Which Considers Traffic Situation by Service Time Zones)

  • The vehicle travel time between the demand points in downtown area is greatly influenced by complex road condition and traffic situation that change real time to various external environments. Most of research in the vehicle routing problems compose vehicle routes only considering travel distance and average vehicle speed between the demand points, however did not consider dynamic external environments such as traffic situation by service time zones. A realistic vehicle routing problem which considers traffic situation of smooth, delaying, and stagnating by three service time zones such as going to work, afternoon, and going home was suggested in this study. A mathematical programming model was suggested and it gives an optimal solution when using ILOG CPLEX. A hybrid genetic algorithm was also suggested to chooses a vehicle route considering traffic situation to minimize the total travel time. By comparing the result considering the traffic situation, the suggested algorithm gives better solution than existing algorithms.

  • In this paper, we deal with the vehicle routing problem that could establish operational plan of military engineer for survivability support of artillery position construction. We propose VRPTW(vehicle routing problem with time-window) model of special form that considered service level to reflect the characteristics of military operations rather than the logic of economic efficiencies in the objective function. Furthermore we suggest modified particle swarm optimization algorithm for service based vehicle routing problem solution that can be possible to search in complicated and uncertain area and control relation softly between global and local search.

A Study on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Joined-wing Aircraft with Variation of Wing Configurations

  • The present study was attempted to investigate flow interference effects and the aerodynamic characteristics of the front and rear wings of a joined-wing aircraft by changing the configuration variables. The study was performed using a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) tool to demonstrate forward flight and analyze aerodynamic characteristics. A total of 9 configurations were analyzed with variations on the position, height, dihedral angle, incidence angle, twist angle, sweepback angle, and wing area ratio of the front and rear wings while the fuselage was fixed. The quantities of aerodynamic coefficients were confirmed in accordance with joined-wing configurations. The closer the front and rear wings were located, the greater the flow interference effects tended. Interestingly, the rear wing did not any configuration change, the lift coefficient of the rear wing was decreased when adjusted to increase the incidence angle of the front wing. The phenomenon was appeared due to an effective angle of attack alteration of the rear wing resulting from the flow interference by the front wing configurations.

국방과학기술 연구개발 투자 효율화 방안 연구 (A Study on the Investment Efficiency of Defense Science and Technology R&D)

  • 국제적으로 국방예산은 감축하는 추세이나, 국방 R&D 투자는 지속적으로 확대하고 있다. 이는 주요국이 첨단기술 확보와 신개념 무기체계 개발을 통해 미래전에 대비하고 있음을 보여준다. 특히 4차 산업혁명 기술 발전은 미래전 양상을 가속화 시킬 것으로 예상되므로 우리도 첨단 무기의 독자 개발능력 개발과 미래전 대비를 위한 중·장기적인 국방과학기술 투자전략이 필요하다. 주요국 국방과학기술 정책, 전략수립 절차 등의 사례조사를 통해 국방과학기술 전략에 따른 투자전략을 수립 방안을 연구하였다. 우리도 주기적으로 국방과학기술 연구개발 목표와 방향을 수립하고 연구개발 전략을 제시하고 있으나, 5년 주기로 수립되는 국방과학기술 전략에 의존한 연구개발 추진으로는 급변하는 안보환경과 과학기술 패러다임 변화에 대처하는 데는 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 정부의 정책 추진 중점, 안보 위협 변화에 따라 수립된 전략의 수정·보완 시 이를 능동적으로 국방과학기술 연구개발 전략에 반영하기 위한 투자 효율화 프로세스를 제안한다. 전략 및 중점분야가 핵심기술개발로 연계되는 연속성을 유지하면서 기술변화, 안보환경, 국방정책의 니즈를 신속히 반영할 수 있는 프로세스는 국방연구개발 예산의 효율적 배분과 전략적 투자방향 설정에 활용될 수 있다.

  • 국방과학기술분야 업무의 효율성을 극대화하기 위해서는 국가적인 차원에서 국방 관련 기관들이 사용하고 있는 국방과학기술분야의 전문용어를 광범위하게 수집하고 기술 체계를 통일하여 관리하는 것이 필요하다. 각 분야별/기관별로 사용되고 있는 국방과학기술 용어들의 표준화를 통해서 전문용어에 대한 혼란을 없애는 것은 물론, 전문용어 사전을 오프라인 및 온라인 서비스에 활용함으로써 전문용어에 대한 접근성을 높이는 것이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 고도의 신뢰성이 요구되는 국방과학기술 정보 분석의 기반을 제공하기 위해서 국방과학기술분야를 중심으로 전문용어의 선정, 기술 기준, 기술 구조를 포함하는 모든 프로세스를 표준화하는 것은 물론, 온라인 서비스에 전문용어 사전의 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 방안을 제시하고 있다. 또한 표준화된 구축 프로세스에 따라 전문용어 사전을 시범 구축하였다. 본 연구를 통해 생성되는 전문용어 사전은 다음과 같은 분야에 활용될 수 있다. 1) 국방과학기술 전문용어 데이터베이스 구축 및 용어 사전의 발간. 2) 국방과학기술분야의 정보 분석. 3) 전문용어 다국어 대역어를 이용한 외국어 정보분석. 4) 정보 처리 용어의 일관성 보증. 5) 전문용어를 추출하기 위한 언어 자원.

HOG 특징 기반 능동 소나 식별 기법 (Active Sonar Classification Algorithm based on HOG Feature)

  • In this paper, an effective feature which is capable of classifying targets among the detections obtained from 2D range-bearing maps generated in active sonar environments is proposed. Most conventional approaches for target classification with the 2D maps have considered magnitude of peak and statistical features of the area surrounding the peak. To improve the classification performance, HOG(Histogram of Gradient) feature, which is popular for their robustness in the image textures analysis is applied. In order to classify the target signal, SVM(Support Vector Machine) method with reduced HOG feature by the PCA(Principal Component Analysis) algorithm is incorporated. The various simulations are conducted with the real clutter signal data and the synthesized target signal data. According to the simulated results, the proposed method considering HOG feature is claimed to be effective when classifying the active sonar target compared to the conventional methods.

  • Naval combat system developed in-country is progressing at an alarming rate since 2000. ROK navy will be achieved all vessels that have combat system in the near future. The importance of System Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support based on reliability analysis is increasing. However, reliability analysis that everyone trusted and recognized is not enough and applied practically for development of Defense Acquisition Program. In particular, Existing Reliability Analysis is focusing on reliability index (Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) etc.) for policy decision of defense improvement project. Most of the weapon system acquisition process applying in the exponential distribution simply persist unreality due to memoryless property. Critical failures are more important than simple faults to ship's operator. There are no confirmed cases of reliability analysis involved with critical failure that naval ship scheduler and operator concerned sensitively. Therefore, this study is focusing on Mean Time To Critical Failure (MTTCF), reliability on specific time and Operational Readiness Float (ORF) requirements related to critical failure of Patrol Killer Guided missile (PKG) combat system that is beginning of naval combat system developed in-country. Methods of analysis is applied parametric and non-parametric statistical techniques. It is compared to the estimates and proposed applications. The result of study shows that parametric and non-parametric estimators should be applied differently depending on purpose of utilization based on test of normality. For the first time, this study is offering Reliability of ROK Naval combat system to stakeholders involved with defense improvement project. Decision makers of defense improvement project have to active support and effort in this area for improvement of System Engineering.

  • 본 연구에서는 대함탄도미사일(ASBM) 방어체계에 대한 기능요구사항을 도출한다. ASBM 방어체계의 기능요구사항은 대함탄도미사일의 위협특성에 의존한다. 최근 중국은 남한의 THAAD 배치에 대한 전략적 대응수단으로 대함탄도미사일인 DF-21D의 발사시험을 수행하였다. ASBM은 항공모함의 공격에 대한 반접근/거부(A2/AD) 전력의 주된 대응수단으로 사용된다. 북한과 중국의 미사일 기술커녁션을 고려할 때 북한은 ASBM을 개발할 가능성이 매우 높다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 ASBM의 주된 대응수단이 될 수 있는 이지스함의 운용개념을 도출하고 전산도구인 QFD를 활용하여 기능요구사항을 도출하고자 한다.
