According to statistics conducted by the Korea Coast Guard, the number of accidents on small boats under 5 tons is increasing every year. This is because only a small number of people are on board. The previously developed maritime distress and safety systems are not well distributed because passengers must be equipped with additional remote equipment. The purpose of this study is to develop a distress awareness system that recognizes man over-board situations in real time. This study aims to present the part of the passenger tracking system among the small ship's distress awareness situational system that can generate passenger's location information in real time using deep learning based object detection and tracking technologies. The system consisted of the following steps. 1) the passenger location information is generated in the form of Bounding box using its detection model (YOLOv3). 2) Based on the Bounding box data, Deep SORT predicts the Bounding box's position in the next frame of the image with Kalman filter. 3) When the actual Bounding Box is created within the range predicted by Kalman-filter, Deep SORT repeats the process of recognizing it as the same object. 4) If the Bounding box deviates the ship's area or an error occurs in the number of tracking occupant, the system is decided the distress situation and issues an alert. This study is expected to complement the problems of existing technologies and ensure the safety of individuals aboard small boats.

Rice pest identification is essential in modern agriculture for the health of rice crops. As global rice consumption rises, yields and quality must be maintained. Various methodologies were employed to identify pests, encompassing sensor-based technologies, deep learning, and remote sensing models. Visual inspection by professionals and farmers remains essential, but integrating technology such as satellites, IoT-based sensors, and drones enhances efficiency and accuracy. A computer vision system processes images to detect pests automatically. It gives real-time data for proactive and targeted pest management. With this motive in mind, this research provides a novel farmland fertility algorithm with a deep learning-based automated rice pest detection and classification (FFADL-ARPDC) technique. The FFADL-ARPDC approach classifies rice pests from rice plant images. Before processing, FFADL-ARPDC removes noise and enhances contrast using bilateral filtering (BF). Additionally, rice crop images are processed using the NASNetLarge deep learning architecture to extract image features. The FFA is used for hyperparameter tweaking to optimise the model performance of the NASNetLarge, which aids in enhancing classification performance. Using an Elman recurrent neural network (ERNN), the model accurately categorises 14 types of pests. The FFADL-ARPDC approach is thoroughly evaluated using a benchmark dataset available in the public repository. With an accuracy of 97.58, the FFADL-ARPDC model exceeds existing pest detection methods.
Segmented planar imaging detector for electro-optical reconnaissance (SPIDER) is an emerging technology for optical imaging. However, this novel detection approach is faced with degraded imaging quality. In this study, a 6 × 6 planar waveguide is used after each lenslet to expand the field of view. The imaging principles of field-plane waveguide structures are described in detail. The local multiple-sampling simulation mode is adopted to process the simulation of the improved imaging system. A novel image-reconstruction algorithm based on deep learning is proposed, which can effectively address the defects in imaging quality that arise during image reconstruction. The proposed algorithm is compared to a conventional algorithm to verify its better reconstruction results. The comparison of different scenarios confirms the suitability of the algorithm to the system in this paper.
Even though several deep learning-based methods have been applied in the field of acoustic source localization, the previous works have only been conducted using the two-dimensional representation of the beamforming maps, particularly with the planar array system. While the acoustic sources are more required to be localized in a spherical microphone array system considering that we live and hear in the 3D world, the conventional 2D equirectangular map of the spherical beamforming map is highly vulnerable to the distortion that occurs when the 3D map is projected to the 2D space. In this study, a 3D deep learning approach is proposed to fulfill accurate source localization via distortion-free 3D representation. A target function is first proposed to obtain 3D source distribution maps that can represent multiple sources' positional and strength information. While the proposed target map expands the source localization task into a point-wise prediction task, a PointNet-based deep neural network is developed to precisely estimate the multiple sources' positions and strength information. While the proposed model's localization performance is evaluated, it is shown that the proposed method can achieve improved localization results from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives.
As the world's population grows, the food industry becomes increasingly important. Among them, agriculture is an industry that produces stocks of people all over the world, which is very important food industry. Despite the growing importance of agriculture, however, a large number of crops are lost every year due to pests and malnutrition. So, we propose a plant anomaly detection system for managing crops incorporating deep learning and drones with various possibilities. In this paper, we develop a system that analyzes images taken by drones and GPS of the drone's movement path and visually displays them on a map. Our system detects plant anomalies with 97% accuracy. The system is expected to enable efficient crop management at low cost.

In this paper, we propose a monitoring system that can monitor gas leakage concentrations in real time and forecast the amount of gas leaked after one minute. When gas leaks happen, they typically lead to accidents such as poisoning, explosion, and fire, so a monitoring system is needed to reduce such occurrences. Previous research has mainly been focused on analyzing explosion characteristics based on gas types, or on warning systems that sound an alarm when a gas leak occurs in industrial areas. However, there are no studies on creating systems that utilize specific gas explosion characteristic analysis or empirical urban gas data. This research establishes a deep learning model that predicts the gas explosion risk level over time, based on the gas data collected in real time. In order to determine the relative risk level of a gas leak, the gas risk level was divided into five levels based on the lower explosion limit. The monitoring platform displays the current risk level, the predicted risk level, and the amount of gas leaked. It is expected that the development of this system will become a starting point for a monitoring system that can be deployed in urban areas.

This paper proposed a real-time earlobe detection system using deep learning on the web. Existing deep learning-based detection methods often find independent objects such as cars, mugs, cats, and people. We proposed a way to receive an image through the camera of the user device in a web environment and detect the earlobe on the server. First, we took a picture of the user's face with the user's device camera on the web so that the user's ears were visible. After that, we sent the photographed user's face to the server to find the earlobe. Based on the detected results, we printed an earring model on the user's earlobe on the web. We trained an existing YOLO v5 model using a dataset of about 200 that created a bounding box on the earlobe. We estimated the position of the earlobe through a trained deep learning model. Through this process, we proposed a real-time earlobe detection system on the web. The proposed method showed the performance of detecting earlobes in real-time and loading 3D models from the web in real-time.
One of the difficult works in an autonomous driving system is detecting road lanes or objects in the road boundaries. Detecting and tracking a vehicle is able to play an important role on providing important information in the framework of advanced driver assistance systems such as identifying road traffic conditions and crime situations. This paper proposes a vehicle detection scheme based on deep learning to classify and tracking vehicles in a complex and diverse environment. We use the modified YOLO as the object detector and polynomial regression as object tracker in the driving video. With the experimental results, using YOLO model as deep learning model, it is possible to quickly and accurately perform robust vehicle tracking in various environments, compared to the traditional method.

This paper proposes vision sensors and deep learning-based around view monitoring system for ship berthing. Ship berthing to the port requires precise relative position and relative speed information between the mooring facility and the ship. For ships of Handysize or higher, the vesselships must be docked with the help of pilots and tugboats. In the case of ships handling dangerous cargo, tug boats push the ship and dock it in the port, using the distance and velocity information receiving from the berthing aid system (BAS). However, the existing BAS is very expensive and there is a limit on the size of the vessel that can be measured. Also, there is a limitation that it is difficult to measure distance and speed when there are obstacles near the port. This paper proposes a relative distance and speed estimation system that can be used as a ship berthing assist system. The proposed system is verified by comparing the performance with the existing laser-based distance and speed measurement system through the field tests at the actual port.
Deep Learning has become the most important technology in the field of artificial intelligence machine learning, with its high performance overwhelming existing methods in various applications. In this paper, an interactive window service based on object recognition technology is proposed. The main goal is to implement an object recognition technology using this deep learning technology to remove the existing eye tracking technology, which requires users to wear eye tracking devices themselves, and to implement an eye tracking technology that uses only usual cameras to track users' eye. We design an interactive system based on efficient eye detection and pupil tracking method that can verify the user's eye movement. To estimate the view-direction of user's eye, we initialize to make the reference (origin) coordinate. Then the view direction is estimated from the extracted eye pupils from the origin coordinate. Also, we propose a blink detection technique based on the eye apply ratio (EAR). With the extracted view direction and eye action, we provide some augmented information of interest without the existing complex and expensive eye-tracking systems with various service topics and situations. For verification, the user guiding service is implemented as a proto-type model with the school map to inform the location information of the desired location or building.
