  • In general, performing facilities consist of various functional groupings. The functional groupings should be arranged, in relation to each other, depending on the circulation of users in a space. The performing culture in Korea has been rapidly progressed in recent years. However, compared to the superior examples of foreign performing facilities, it still needs improvements and systematic research. In this study, the functional groupings of general performing facilities as well as the circulation patterns of users will be analyzed. From the results of this study, a circulation system for each spatial composition will be suggested for the performing facilities to be constructed in the future.

  • There has been an enormous emergence of imaging systems dedicated to hardcopy and softcopy color-appearance comparisons. Pre-press industry use the CRT as a soft proofing device to preview and aid with color corrections and changes before producing the final printed image. Color DTP system is required an accurate image-matching between CRT-image and printed image. In other to develop the color DTP,CRT calibration and CRT color transform to CIE color system are necessary. In this paper, we described a method CRT color transform to CIELab color system using RGB image raw data. Experimental results show that described method is useful valid of color image matching.

  • The performance of a cryptographic module is the most important thing to achieve a high performance VPN system which realizes information security by encrypting and decrypting all the communicating data packets. However the cryptographic operations require much computation power and software cryptographic systems reveal bad performance. Thus, it is strongly recommended to develop a VPN system employing hardware component. This paper introduces a case study of developing a PCI add-on card which supports several block cipher algorithms such as DES, 3DES, AES, and SEED. The performance of them was measured by embedding the card in a commercial VPN system.

  • This paper surveys areas of vulnerability to voltage sags in KEPCO system. The area of vulnerability can be defined as the region where the occurrence of faults will lead to voltages lower than the sensitivity threshold of equipment. The analysis of the area of vulnerability is essential for estimating system voltage sag performance and establishing efficient countermeasures for voltage sag problems. In this paper, two buses in KEPCO system were randomly selected and the areas of vulnerability for the buses were calculated by using dedicated software.

  • Implementing a hardware cryptographic system is strongly required to assure high Qualify contents security. Not only because the many of the prevalent cryptographic algorithms require much computation time but also software implementations of cryptographic systems do not guarantee high performance, we need to design a hardware cryptographic system with a dedicated crypto-chip. This paper describes a case study of implementing a PCI cryptographic card which supports cryptographic algorithms such as 3DES, AES, SEED.

  • The classification and coding of part for group technology applications continus to be labour intensive and time-consuming process, and therefore much effort is dedicated to the structure and creation of automatic coding systems. IN this paper, Neural networks is used to generate processes-related digit as well as part geometry-related digit of the TS code where part name is provided as input.since part name, which is appropriately designated, provides much information about part geometry and manufacturing processes. THe developed GT recommendation system is integrated with interactive TS coding system and database in order to handle the changes of production environment, such as the change of production part of plant. It is found to recommend codes accurately and promises to be a useful tool for consistent, reliable and convenient coding processes.

  • As 3-D solid modeling systems have been widely used in product design recently, dedicated design systems for molds of the products have been developed and introduced to mold manufacturers. These mold design systems provide solid modeling capabilites for mechanism to free undercuts. This paper describes an algorithm for slide design capability that has been developed based on a commercial CAD system, Unigraphics. Since the relationship between slide parts were investigated and predefined using parameters in the system, the dimensions and locations of the parts are modifed automatically when a part is modified.

  • The efficiency and effectiveness of freight transportation within and across Northeast Asia playa key role to achieve competitive advantages against other competing hubs in this area. However, the majority of local freight has been carried by ground transportation and the share of costal shipping has been decreasing for its transportational complexity and poor cargo works. In this paper, we discuss the prerequisites of efficient cargo linkage system from the perspectives of road, rail, ocean, and the service providers. Specifically, we identify that the balanced capacity of road/rail transportation system with costal freight system is a crucial component for facilitating coastal shipping. Other requirements such as the efficient on-dock container yard (ODCY), dedicated ports and ships, and the service provider of door-to-door transportation for short sea shipping are highlighted in order to secure the serviceability and availability of streamlined costal shipping. Further, we elaborate these requirements to facilitate costal cargo shipping in Korea.

  • The role of Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS) is to generate a power and distribute it to the electrical devices for the system operation. For on-orbit operation of cube satellite, it is also necessary to supply power to on-board mission devices as commercial satellite does. Recently, commercial EPS products dedicated for the cube satellite application has been developed and widely used for the power subsystem design. In this paper, a permanent magnet attitude stabilization method without external power has been introduced because it has advantage from power consumption point of view and the EPS design of cube satellite by applying the commercial EPS products has been introduced and investigated. This paper also deals with the specification of the commercial EPS products for the beginner of the cube satellite design.

  • We have developed MITS(Medical Information Transmission System) that captures, stores and manages the digitalized medical images and transmit them via LAN, and also have developed DSCW(Dedicated System for Clinical Ward) that enables to review the medical images and clinical laboratory test results transmitted via LAN at clinical ward. They were implemented on the 386 platforms, and interconnected via 10 Mbps LAN between department of radiology and clinical ward.
