  • We have developed the computer system with MOCT which is called "The Integrated National Groundwater Information system" since 1995 and now begin to supply the database and related informations for ground water by internet homepage. The integrated system is composed of four sub systems which are "Groundwater Information System", "DUREBAK", "Hydrogeologic Map Management System" and "Groundwater World Homepage". The local government offices use the "DUREBAK" program to manage the well development and maintenance. About 1,000,000 wells are managed in "DUREBAK" program and they submit the well database to MOCT every year. And now everyone can obtain the well data and other informations through internet homepage. We have set the standard process of data acquisition and management for ground water last four years.s of data acquisition and management for ground water last four years.

  • Power system is analyzed by three methods of load flow, fault calculation, and voltage stability. Among there, load flow is calculated to flow of power in power in system at steady state. But, load flow is difficult to analyze to flow of power in substation, because power flow frequently alter by various equipments such as circuit bleaker, disconnect switch and shunt reactor. Particular, in 765[㎸] system, because of form of 1.5GB for stable operation, structure of substation has been very complex. In this paper, we describe technique for application of load flow algorithm in simulator for 765[㎸] substation. For this technique, we built each database for various equipments and considered form of 1.5GB Data as form of bus and line, for application of load flow, are acquired from built database, and then calculate load flow in substation. And. results of load flow are outputted in screen of operator console program.

외래 생물 관련 애니메이션 환경교육 프로그램의 학습 효과 (Learning Effects of Animation-based Learning Program Related to Alien Animals and Plants in Environmental Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on the achievement of knowledge by animation-based learning program(ALP) in environmental education. The topic covered by ALP was "meaning and kinds of alien animals and plants". Four classes were selected and divided into two groups. The one was control group, and the other was treatment. 121 female the eighth graders(60 control and 61 ALP students) were piloted. Whereas control students learned using Powerpoint presentation-based materials, ALP students learned using web-based flash animations and animated database with images and movie clips. The score of knowledge achievement of ALP students was compared to control group students using ANCOVA, and then the score of ALP students was significantly higher than that of control group students(p<0.05). The ALP using animations and animated database was effective on the understanding of the alien animals and plants.

수리해석 모형과 GIS를 이용한 통합 용수배분 시스템 (Integrated Water Distribution Network System using the Mathematical Analysis Model and GIS)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존에 개발된 상수도 관련 GIS(geographic information system)에서 관로해석을 위한 자료를 자동으로 입력할 수 있고, 사용자를 위한 GUI(geographic user interface)를 제공하는 GNLP(GIS linked non-linear pipe network analysis program)프로그램을 개발하였다. 관로시스템의 수리해석은 Hazen-Williams의 손실수두방정식을 기초로 한 비선형 해석기법을 이용하여 시행하였으며, 데이터베이스 응용 프로그램을 작성하기 위해서 관계형 데이터베이스 관리시스템(RDBMS ; relational database management system)인 Microsoft사의 Microsoft Access를 사용하였다. 이 GNLP 프로그램은 실제 관망설계자가 관로시스템의 수리해석에 필요한 자료의 입력을 용이하게 할 수 있도록 시스템환경을 개선하였다. 그리고 압력 및 유량 등 관로시스템의 수리적 해석 결과를 표 및 챠트 형태로 출력이 가능하고, Excel 파일로 변환이 가능하다. 또한 GIS의 중요 요소인 질의(query) 기능이나 분석된 자료를 확인하고자 할 때 이를 효과적으로 디스플레이가 가능하도록 개발되었다.

  • Recent technological advances have increased interest in personal health monitoring. Electrocardiogram(ECG) monitoring is a basic healthcare activity and can provide decisive information regarding cardiovascular system status. In this study, we developed a capacitive ECG measurement system that can be included within a cloth mattress pad. The device permits ECG data to be obtained during sleep by using capacitive electrodes. However, it is difficult to detect R-wave peaks automatically because signals obtained from the system can include a high level of noise from various sources. Because R-peak detection is important in ECG applications, we developed an algorithm that can reduce noise and improve detection accuracy under noisy conditions. Algorithm reliability was evaluated by determining its sensitivity(Se), positive predictivity(+P), and error rate(Er) by using data from the MIT-BIH Polysomnographic Database and from our capacitive ECG system. The results showed that Se = 99.75%, +P = 99.77%, and Er = 0.47% for MIT-BIH Polysomnographic Database while Se = 96.47%, +P = 99.32%, and Er = 4.34% for our capacitive ECG system. Based on those results, we conclude that our R-peak detection method is capable of providing useful ECG information, even under noisy signal conditions.

Evaluation for canine hip dysplasia in Golden and Labrador retrievers using PennHIP method in Korea

  • Hips of the Golden and Labrador retrievers in Korea were evaluated with the University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP) and the severity of joint laxity and degenerative joint disease (DJD) were compared to the PennHIP database. The distraction index (DI) of domestic Golden and Labrador retrievers was significantly higher than the DI of the PennHIP database. In the two breeds, the prevalence of DJD increased according to the DI. However, the severity of DJD did not show a positive correlation with the DI. Overweight dogs and dogs kept indoors showed more severe DJD and more prevalence of clinical signs. This report is thought to be the first case presentation of a large population of Golden and Labrador retrievers in Korea and the findings are representing the overall level of canine hip dysplasia (CHD) of domestic Retrievers, as the PennHIP method was not available in Korea until 2001. We can respect that the stock of retrievers can have a tighter hip joint through control of CHD using an accurate diagnostic method keyed to a phenotype especially concern for joint laxity using PennHIP method and an organized screening program. The clinical manifestation of dysplastic dog can be reduced through control of bodyweight and the environment with regular monitoring the hips with concern for joint laxity using PennHIP method.

  • 항공기의 외부장착물 분리해석이 가능한 Off-line 6-DOF 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 개발 하였다. 개발한 프로그램은 풍동시험이나 CFD 해석을 통해 구축된 공력 데이터베이스를 이용하여 외부장착물의 분리 궤적을 예측할 수 있다. 공력 계수의 계산에는 flow angle 방법을 적용하였으며 분리 궤적 계산에는 사출력과 구속 조건의 적용이 가능하도록 하였다. 개발한 프로그램을 이용하여 군용항공기의 분리 궤적을 계산하였으며 이를 CTS 시험 결과와 비교하였다.

A Study on the Development of a Wide-Area Monitoring and Control System for Tug/barges

  • The traffic of tug/barges which are carrying construction materials, large plants for harbor development, or offshore structures has recently increased in the coast of Korea. The west and south coast of Korea are always congested due to a lot of islands and traffic concentration. Specially tug/barges have higher probability of marine accidents due to their bad maneuverability than others. Considering the operational circumstance and maneuverability, this study was to develop a wide-area monitoring and control system for tug/barges in the coastal area of Korea. The system was made in the form of three program modules i.e. navigation analysis program module, monitoring and control program module, database module. And seven functions were programmed to monitor and control the tug/barges efficiently. These are ship information search, tug/barge information and track management, designated area and safe navigation zone management, fairway management, accident data management, warning of danger, safety information management.

  • Database system parameter tuning is one of database system tuning that achieve to improve performance of database system with application program tuning and data model tuning. By parameter tuning adjusts value of entry that is staled in data dictionary's parameter file that is included to database system, it is thing which make relevant database system can display performance of most suitable. And, it is that achievement is one o( possible tuning method immediately without occurrence of additional expense or involved hardware for database system performance elevation and ashes composition of software. But, it is actuality that administration about parameter practical use is not achieved, and is using Default Value of parameter that database management system offers just as it is systematically. So, this paper presents parameter tuning process that can :achieve Parameter tuning of database system that is operating present systematically, and parameter tuning process each activity important input urea and tuning achievement product. And explain about effect and result that happen by sort database system performance and parameters that it is affinity systematically, and grasp relationships between parameter, and change parameter of string database system. And not that parameter uses contents that specify by fixing when establish database administration system, is going to emphasize and explain that must utilize changing continuously during database system operation. It changes parameter entry value how in various kinds different operation environment and present if must apply, and will arrange effect that this parameter enoy value alteration gets in performance liking into account point that is actuality that is using parameter that define database administrators when install the database system just as it is continually without alteration.

  • Author outlines briefly developments of policies relating to telecommunication infrastructure and databases since latter half of 1970′s. There exist three phases. The first phase was from later 1970′s to 1985, which was an initial stage of electronic information service in Japan. In the second phase, 1985~1990, basic policy change made possible the privatization of telecommunication services and proliferation of database products and vendors, The third phase began in early 1990′s with downsizing in computer usage, wide-spreading information networks and rapid dissemination of personal computers. Then author describes offers on policy formation for "novel information infrastructure" and current situation concerning the "Internet" in Japan. Finally, tasks and problems for implementing new generation program for information infrastructure and database usage are pointed out, These are knowledge resource, cost, copyrights and cultural problems including language.
