As a cornerstone of assembly automation, the automatic part feeders are used to feed the various kind of the parts to the assembly workstation in the desired order and fashion. In this paper, EXPERT SYSTEM consisting of the data base for the feeding functions and part properties plus the rule base for the selection of feeder types is developed. The symbolic data of the part properties are used as basic factors in the selection rule of the suitable feeder types.

This paper describes the research and development of the Electronic Chart Data base and the Electronic Chart Display and Information System(ECDIS) based on the Draft Soecification for ECDIS of IHO by the Research Group on ECDIS of the Ministry of Communicatios of China, The paper also briefly introduces the systems configuration basic function electronic chart data base of China and the future prospects.

A learning control method is proposed in this paper, using a knowledge base which contains control rules, data, and patterns of the past experience of a plant. The knowledge for plant control is retrieved from measurement data during operation and continually modified after control performance evaluation. A control method is proposed using tinually modified after control performance evaluation. A control method is proposed using fuzzy model of the plant and a recursive statistic decision method of fuzzy subset for control rule generation. Also, the resulting knowledge-based control algorithm has been applied to aprocess and its performance improvement and proper generation of appropriate control rules have been verified.

The fire accident cases of several countries such as Korea, Japan, United States, etc., were collected and compared statistically. The trends of fire accidents in several countries will help us establish detailed plans for fire protection and reduce the possible fire accidents in the future. For construction of data base system, the program FADS was developed, which is operable in Windows environment.

XML을 통한 데이터의 전송과 저장은 E-Commerce에서 표준으로 이루어지고 있으며, 이는 점점 M-Commerce 방향으로 이전하고 있다. 이를 위하여 모바일 기기들을 위한 모바일 XML DBMS이 더욱 더 많은 DataBase 벤더들과 기업에 의하여 많은 제품이 개발되어지고 있다. 문제는 사로 다른 모바일 기기들에 대한 상호 호환성 확보와 불안한 네트워크 상태에서의 데이터 동기화에 대한 어려움으로 이를 위한 많은 솔루션들이 개발되고 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 모바일 DataBase에 XML 문서를 저장향 수 있도록 XML Adapter를 미들웨어로 탑재하여 XML 문서를 전송 및 저장하고, 데이터 동기화를 위한 XML 캐슁 시스템을 설계하였다.

Diameter base protocol is intended to provide an AAA framework for applications such as IP mobility. Currently Diameter base protocol is standardized to RFC 3588, but there are some problems. One of them, path authorization is already argued at IETF WG Mailing List. According to RFC 3588, path authorization function causes inefficient data traffic and conflicts with RFC 3588 itself. In this paper, we analysis these problems about path authorization function and propose more improved solution.

The purpose of this study is to present the design methodology of base isolated buildings. To achieve the goal of this study, time-history analysis was performed with seismic performance level and recorded seismic data. From the analysis results of MDOF system, the maximum. displacement and base shear were evaluated as 25 cm and $4\%$ by the input level which is maximum velocity of 50 kine. By introducing hybrid isolation system, seismic energy can be concentrated consequently high seismic capacity of the total building is secured.

The hot spot stress approach and the notch strain approach are discussed with some results of them. And a stress model that can be applicable to several types of weld joints with single S-N curve of the base material. The stress model uses the geometric characteristics of the stress distribution vicinity of weld joints. The model was applied to five different weld joins(the base material is SM490B). By the representative stress, the experimental fatigue data are plotted very closely to the S-N curve of the base material.

This paper deals with the rule generation from data for control system and data mining using rough set. If the cores and reducts are searched for without consideration of the frequency of data belonging to the same equivalent class, the unnecessary attributes may not be discarded, and the resultant rules don't represent well the characteristics of the data. To improve this, we handle the inconsistent data with a probability measure defined by support, As a result the effect of uncertainty in knowledge reduction can be reduced to some extent. Also we construct the rule base in a hierarchical structure by applying core as the classification criteria at each level. If more than one core exist, the coverage degree is used to select an appropriate one among then to increase the classification rate. The proposed method gives more proper and effective rule base in compatibility and size. For some data mining example the simulations are performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

GWW was developed by UN(United Nations) in order to manage groundwater data systematically on PC windows. Temporal and spatial data from lab and field tests are stored in a data base. The data base can be displayed graphically by using the GIS (Geographic Information System) technique. Raw data from pumping tests, step-drawdown tests, and chemical analyses can be analysed to characterize the hydrogeologic system. This article demonstrates a GWW application using default database and groundwater data obtained at the Nanjido Landfill site.
